Haloween Costumes
So, are you guys dressing up for All Hallow's Eve, and going out to par-tay with the undead?
We've got a few ideas for what we want to be for Halloween. I've been practicing my Vampire and Vampire Childe makeup for the last month and I've got MY look done. Mister is hard to do, though, because he's so much more darker complected than I am, I can't quite get the paler-but-still-sexy look on him right. I don't know, maybe I'm using the wrong shades for his skin, since I'm Neutral and he's Warm, and 99% of my cosmetics are for ME, not him. Obviously.
Anyway, what are you all going as this year?

I'm going as a harried, stressed out mother. My older girl is going as a goth girl, my middle girl is going as a witch, and my son as Darth Vader.

I love Halloween--It's my favorite holiday.
I'm going as the Silk Spectre from Watchmen (the original)
Like this:
I've been piecing together the costume for weeks now. I can't wait to wear the whole thing. Additionally, I'm glad I'm putting it together myself, so I can get things I'll wear not just for Halloween.
D and I are going to Rocky Horror and maybe stopping by a friend's Dead Author's Party (Dress up as a Dead author, read works of said dead author by firelight while imbibing copiously).

If I can find enough red dye and fake blood, I'm going as one of the Red Lantern Corps. Think these guys, with self-inflicted wounds all over the face and arms and everything that's exposed, combined with these evil motherfuckers. Then I'll get hammered and hit the right levels of rage. It will be a good night, I will make it so or die trying.
OK, so I'm a dork. What else is new? If I can't pull that off, can get hold of one of those blank theatre masks, and can contrive some way of fitting the lenses from an old pair of my glasses into the eyes, then I'm going as the Question. I did in January, but then I couldn't manage the blank-faced mask. At some point in my life, I'm going to pull it off properly like this guy does. Consider it a minor life goal. |

As for myself, I was thinking to be Merilyn Monroe but after being told to "please just be like the other moms", I'm going to be a standard garden variety witch. Have not decided yet if I'm going with my mini slip dress with the mesh overlap or the long velvet deep scoop neck and side slits.

My original plan had been little red riding hood but I don't think I can get the costume in time (I have to order from the US to get the right size and I have a week) so I'm looking at a Queen Of Hearts costume on Ebay atm.
Failing that I'll rip some jeans, put on my play collar and a ripped t shirt, throw on my Rock Band Guitar and go as a punk.

I always do dress up - the village kids would be hugely disappointed if I didn't. What am I going to dress up as? Why, myself, of course. When one is a master of the arcana and conjurer of daemons, why would one need to dress as anything else?
