Whatever had happened to them? Up to 5 years ago, Adrian and Kate had been best friends. They had grown up next door to each other, gone to the same preschool, and stayed that way until middle school. All of a sudden, they started to grow apart. Adrian had started to realise his academic abilites and spent most of his time at his studies. Meanwhile, Kate had fallen under the spell of the school's star quarterback.

Now in the senior year of high school, neither had said a word to the other in 5 years. Adrian knew he would be going to an Ivy League school in the autumn. But what did the future hold for Kate?

Kate was driving home from school with tears in her eyes. She caught her boyfriend of the last 5 years, Lucas, cheating on her with another girl. She tried talking to her cheerleader friends about it, but all of them all ready knew that he was cheating on her. She couldn't belive it, her own friends didn't tell her that her boyfriend was cheating on her. On her way home she saw she was getting close to her old friend Adrian's house.

She thought for a moment on all the good times she had with him from preschool untill 5 years ago. They drifted apart, Adrian moved to the "Geek" world and she because of Lucas, moved to the "Jock/Cheerleader" world. She needed to talk to someone, so she pulled into his driveway. She walked up to the door and knocked. She was wearing her standard cheerleading uniform.

Adrian heard the knock at the door.

"Mom, will you get that?", before he returned to his books. He heard a second knock.

"Mom?", he called out a second. No answer. She must have gone out. Getting up, he ambled down the stairs, opening the door.

"K-Kate, Hi. What are you doing here?"

Kate was a little nervous as she stood there waiting for the door to open. Then when the door opened and she saw Adrian she smiled at him and before she could get out her first word, she colapsed against his chest and started to cry, "Lucas has been cheating on me... with the whole cheerleading squad..."

Adrian stood there for a minute, before putting his arms around.

"I'm sorry Kate."

He had watched Kate from afar for a while, never for one second thinking that bastard Lucas was any good for her. He had seen him around the town with numerous members of the cheerleading squad. If he and Kate had been closer, he would have said something, but he no longer felt it was his place to say so.

Kate smiled a little as he hugged her. Adrian had grown up to be a very attractive young man. Truthfully if she wasn't with Lucas. More than likely she'd be with him. But, she wasn't with Lucas anymore... Maybe she could rebulid their friendship... She would need it because as far as she was conserned she didn't have any friends anymore.

She looked at him and smile, "Thanks Adrian... Do you think we could go up to your room and talk for awhile like we use to? I could really use a friend right now..."

Adrian smiled,

"Sure, you know where it is. I'll get us a drink".

Adrian watched as Kate and her short cheerleader skirt bounded up the stairs. She had great shapely legs, and Adrian's eyes nearly bulged when he saw her white cotton panties as he skirt bounced with her steps.

Although they hadn't spoken in 5 years, Adrian had noticed the beauty Kate had devloped into. He had split copious amounts of cum on lonely nights in bed over a naked image of her.

She sat on his bed and kicked her shoes off, just as he walked in. She saw the soda and was glad it wasn't diet, "Thank goodness you have regular soda... I hate that diet stuff..." She took the soda opened it and took a big drink. She looked at him and tried to think of where they should start talking...

Adrian smiled,

"Diet soda is soda with Diet on the can", he said with a laugh.

He sat down at the foot of the bed, careful to keep a bit of distance between himself and Kate. It was nice to see her again, but it had been 5 years.

She took another drink... "I don't know where to start... 5 years is such a long time..." She sighed, "God... I can't belive I wasted FIVE years on that... asshole and those bitches I though were my friends... pardon my language. You know, I'm glad that I found out the truth about him... I was going to follow him to Michigan to go to college... Now, I'm free to go where I've always wanted to go to college... Harvard."

Adrian smiled, listening intently to his childhood friend. She looked so cute in her cheerleader uniform. 5 years was a long time, but hopefully they could start to rebuild bridges.

"Harvard? You're kidding, I'm thinking of heading there too. There or Yale."

Kate smiled, "Yale's good... But, I really want to go to Harvard. Because, want to be a lawyer, and there's no better law school than Harvard... I've got the grades too..." She took a drink, "So... How's life been for you the last five years?"

Adrian was a little shocked, to say the least. He would have never thought that Kate would want to be a lawyer. Maybe he was letting the stereotype of a cheerleader cloud his vision.

"How long you got? 5 years is a long time. Cutting it shorts, its been 5 years preparing for the next four. How about you, what has been going on, other than a cheating boyfriend and cheerleading?"

"About the same working hard, to try to get into Harvard..." The looked around room again and thought of all the sleepovers they had when they were younger, "You know. I just had a wild idea... Why don't we have a sleepover tonight?"

Adrian looked at Kate. He was beginning to realise she was still the same fun girl she had been 5 years ago, only older and much more beautiful. It was a Friday night.

"Why not, for old time's sake."

Kate smiled, "Great... I'll go home and change. Get some stuff. And, I'll be back in a bit..." she started to put her shoes back on... "Oh do you need to ask your parents? I know my parents are going to be thrilled that we are friends again. My mom asks about you all the time..."

Adrian smiled,

"I'm sure it'll be fine with them. My mom asks about you too from time to time."

He chose to leave out what his mom actually said, ranging from her comments about Kate's attire to her now ex-boyfriend. At least he agreed with her on one topic.

Kate smiled, "Great! I'll be back in a bit..." She gave him a little peck on the cheek and then walked out to her car and headed home to get ready for the night.

Adrian for good ten minutes, touching the cheek she had kissed. Then he went about cleaning his room a bit. He picked out a few dvds he thought Kate might like. Among them was 16 Candles. Did he really want to watch that on his first night with Kate after 5 years?

When his mom came home, he mentioned Kate to her. He gave her usual reaction to that name. But he mentioned that she was coming to spend time with him, he mood lightened. She was probably just happy to see her son with a lost friend.

Kate went home and told her mom about what happened and she told her that she was going to Adrien's for a sleep over. Kate's mom was thrilled she always like Adrien and thought she was better for her little girl than Lucas. She took off her uniform and took her long red hair out of the french braid it was in and put it up in a simple ponytail. Then she put on a t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers.

In her bag she packed a change of clothes for the next day, her favorite pair of plaid flannel PJ, a little makeup, and all the stuff she would need in the morning. She felt happier than she had felt in 5 years. She headed back to her friends house and knocked on the door.

Adrian smiled when he heard the knock, knowing it could only could only be one person. He opened the door the most beautiful girl in the world.

"Come on in. I'll get some snacks and I'll be up. I put out a few dvds, have a look yourself."

He went into the kitchen, picked up a bag of chips and a six-pack of sodas. He then headed upstairs to Kate.

Kate smiled she went back upstairs and dropped her bag on the floor. She started to look though the DVD's he had on the bed and saw that Sixteen Candles was among the group. She thought about the movie and smiled. She was in a bit of an opposite situation. Insted of ending up with the popular guy, she was was with the geek. But, in her opinion Adrian was much better looking then Anthony Michael Hall.

Adrian got back to his room and saw what Kate had in his hand.

"Sorry, you probably don't want to watch that tonight. I should have hidden it."

"No... this is fine..." she said, as she sat down on his bed, "Unless there was something else you wanted to watch."

Adrian smiled, touching her hand as he took it from her.

"No it's ok, we'll watch this. Get comfy there and I'll set it up."

He popped in the dvd and turned on the tv. He dimmed the lights and it wasn't until he did so that he realised that they had themselves quite the romantic setting.
