Black Sunshine

[The_Spectre]

It had been almost a week since David left it all and went out on the road, and he owed it to that car out there. Awhile back there was mix up at mechanic and long story short he was given a black 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby Cobra GT500 it was fast, it went like a slug from a .45, he loved it. From that day on everything change, he quit his job, packed up his clothes, his bass and went on the road. It at almost an impulse as if the car was calling to get out of the mundane and finally live. He drove all around the place, driving down the highway, with heavy metal blaring as he passed, he almost as much as he loved that very car he was playing it in, sometime he would end up a some place playing a show and stay.

Right now he was at rest stop preparing to eat while his brown eyes kept an eye on his car, running his hands through his black short black hair as he watched over his black sunshine. Little that he knew that he did have reason to keep an eye on it for there were some people after him, after that car, and planned on getting back, one way or another.

The sounds of shoes pounding on the ground was heard, in the distance was a woman, about 5'3, average build, Dark brown eyes and hair. She was humming a song in japanese since she was into metal music in different countries. She didn't even notice a car before her, until she was on top of it. She stopped and saw a guy there, tilting her head to the side she smiled. Maybe she was lucky, she cleared her throat. She knew hitch hiking was dangerous but had no other choice, she was hungry, thirsty and tired. The woman walked up to him and smiled.

"Hi..." She said, putting her back pack down on the ground.
"would you be able to drive me to the next destination? Ive been walking a day or so and im dead tired." She smiled blushing since she felt it stupid to ask.

David jumped as he heard someone talk to him. He looked at her for a moment, she was cute, very cute. But it wasn't her looks but what she said that caught him off guard. A ride, was she serious? She didn't even tell him her name, she just came out of no where and asked him. He knew lot of horror movies that started like this, then again, he knew some pornos that started off like this. David shook his head, getting his mind out of the gutter, but finding it a bit funny.

After a moment, he figured she seemed harmless enough, and it would be nice to have some company on the road. "Why not, I'll help you out" he said as he finished eating "I'm David by the way" he rested his hand on his black jeans, the tugging at his dark gray t-shirt. "So exactly where am I taking you?" he asked.

Bella looked at the guy, he was very good looking, she put her bag on the ground and was grateful he was willing to help her. "Oh im sorry, you agree to help me without even knowing my name. Im Sorry" She said and giggled a little. "It's nice to meet you David, my name is Isabelle but everyone calls me Bella." She said in a polite manner, she had watched a lot of books and movies were this happens. The situation kind of reminded her of Psycho, where a guy dressed up like his mother and killed people.

"Thanks I really appreciate it, I watch a lot of movies, if you want to check my bag for a weapon you may do so. You have no reason to trust me, so im willing to show im harmless" Bella said with a sweet look to her face. She would never hurt anyone, rather they are insect, or mammal she wasn't like that.

She put her bag on the car showing she was serious, she was wearing a form hugging outfit so he would be able to see she had no weapon on her. Her slender legs wearing black jeans and a black belly shirt with spaghetti strapped shirt, she smiled.

"Nice to meet you" David said to Isabelle as he then thought of her name, shuttering as he thought of the movie Twilight. "I'll just call you Izzy", he checked he up and down and looked at her bag, but not opening, he didn't really trust her, but he didn't feel like invading her privacy. "well we better go, hop in", he said as he went into the car, opening the door for her. As Bella came in he started the car making a roar as he drove off, the radio playing yet another great song. He backed out of the parking lot and drove out in a flash, "I probably should have asked before driving in a general direction, but where am I going?"

Two hours passed as a group of car came to the diner. Five well dressed men going into the diner up approaching a waitress "Hey you" one man said where a black suit, his hair slicked back"you seen this car?" the waitress looked, "yeah the guy driving it left hours ago", in a burst of angry the man tossed some near by plates onto the fool "FUCK!" he yelled, as the waitress back away scarred. The man left "It's not here." he yelled out "Mr. Gates I don't get it, what the big deal with this car?" asked a younger man "the point, is that car is worth millions, son of bitch who stole it must be on his way to sell it" said Mr. Bates "We're tracking this guy down, and I'm getting my car back, one way or another".

Bella got in as he shut the door, relaxing she was humming to herself, when he asked her where she was going she just smiled. "Well where ever your going" She said simply, when he turned on the music in the car she was really at peace, her eyes went wide. "OH i love this song" She said turning it up a bit and sang with the music, tapping her knee with her hand, she started to notice the car, she had seen it some place before. "Um...David..ive seen this car before...where did you get it?" she looked right into his eyes as he looked at her every so often.

"Strange" She said softly, she was humming to herself with the song, bobbing her head back and forth.

"Thanks again for the ride, your sweet David and im forever grateful" she smiled.

David continued to drive down the road looking at Bella then back, "To be honest, I really don't know where I'm going, anywhere but home basically". When he was home David felt so confined so, bored, as if just letting time pass him by finding solace in music, now that he was "free" he felt so alive, happy as it were. When she asked about how he got the car, he didn't what to say, he didn't want to lie, but he didn't trust enough to tell the truth.

"It was given to me" he said it wasn't a lie per-se, just not the complete truth. "It's no problem at all, to be honest it's kind of nice to have someone to talk to" he smiled at her looking at her eyes then looking back, "So exactly why is someone like you looking for rides with a guy like me?" he asked.

she thought about it for a bit, gazing into his eyes every now and then "Lucky, this car is beautiful and in mint condition" Bella said happily, when he asked Thinking. "Well there isn't anything wrong with you, your very handsome. And im like you, I have nothing and ive been spending about twenty four hours walking off and on of course. I have no one to go to so im just traveling, I have money for gas if that helps any?" She said simply, she was glad and content to have you in my life for now. Something tells me that we will be spending a lot of time together, she grinned, everything was so perfect.

"Why are you on the road?" she asked

"Well" began David, "boredom in all honesty, when I got this car, I just had this urge to just leave, to escape from it all and see it all" He smiled to himself "to be honest, I've never been happier". He laughed "well if you're insisting on tagging along with me, I suppose paying for gas, would help" he said "and as for calling me handsome is also another way to get on my good side".

David looked up and noticed it was getting dark, "We're gonna have to find a place to stay soon" he said "That is unless you want to keep going" he looked over at her.

[Mayu]

She smiled "I feel the same, I have no family so ive got my life savings and here I am with you" She said kindly. "We should stop' she said "I have over a thousand dollars so you don't need to worry about a thing." She sighed. "David....thank you for taking me along, you have the right to not trust me, so I will work on trust, since it doesn't happen over night. Your smart for not trusting me, my mom said hitch hiking is deadly. To many horror movies" She giggled a little bit.

"You have a beautiful car and a beautiful spirit' she said.

David smiled, it seemed like Bella was just full of compliments, and in a way it was flattering. She had kindness that he didn't see in many people, and he kind of liked it. "Well maybe we can both work on the whole trust together, seeing as were traveling together" he said as he drove into a parking lot of a run down motel, for Bella to even tell him how much money she had, must have meant she trusted him to some degree, and he figured he should at least warm up to.

David got out of the car and stared at the motel, it was old with a neon sign over head, it looked like it was about to fall apart. "35%.... the chances we have of being murdered here" he said jokingly "Well Izzy, I guess we should atleast check in before I make any assumptions, you have mace right?"

[Mayu]

She smiled, when she looked up at the area "I hope you don't mind sharing a bed" She said looking at him. "If the owner has a mother im so out of here, seen Psycho way to many times" She laughed a bit and nodded to him. "Yes I have mace' she said with a grin, walking into the area, and went in, seeing a woman. The night was fifty dollars, she took the money out of her pocket and gave the money and grabbed the key. Walking into a room she turned on the light, but she noticed something. She put her bag down and saw something sticking out of the mattress she went over and pulled out a gun.

"Oh god....yep im so sharing the bed with you" She put the gun on the table.

David widened his eyes as he saw the gun, he looked in the bathroom, to anyone was in there, nothing. "you now hotels tend to put a mint on your pillow, with motel, they go the other was by giving you a complimentary handgun" he joked, "be careful with that thing, don't want your fingerprints on it", he didn't them getting accused of anything just because there were fingerprints on the gun. David observed the gun, thankfully no clip, did want it going off and hitting one of them in the middle of the night.

David took off his shoes and slowly sat on the bed, feeling for anything else on it, when he figured out it was fine, he looked around. The room seemed less dirty, and more ugly,brown wooden walls and red shag carpeting, queen size bed, all in all aside from the gun it was decent. He then thought to himself, did Bella say sleep in the same bed, he was a bit worried about accidentally cuddling with her in his sleep, or feeling her up. He looked up at Bella "If want to get changed, or something I'll go into the bathroom or outside if you want". he said not wanting to invade her privacy.

Bella nodded and she put it down "Im ok here" She said simply, removing her long shirt which exposed a spaghetti shirt, her long sleeved shirt she wiped the gun down so there were no prints, and sliding her long pants showing short shorts. She turned around and went over to the bed, she yawned and moved to her side looking up at him. "It's ok" she said to him. "I don't bite" She grinned and pulled the covers over her body and closed her eyes. She was very happy, she found someone nice to travel with and she enjoyed the bed.

"Its been two weeks since ive had a very nice bed to sleep in, sleeping on the ground sucks, big time" She said her eyes still closed she felt her body relax, her heart pounding, thinking of him next to her. But of course she didn't say anything.

"It sure beats sleeping in a car" responded David to Bella, she looked so cute with her eyes closed in her attire. David began to remove his shoes and slid of his pant revealing his black boxers the going under the covers with Bella. He laid next to her and just looked at her for a moment, his heart race, wanting to talk to just for awhile, but it was getting late and she seemed tired. "Goodnight Izzy" he said to her as he closed his eyes as well. In his sleep his leg began to move over her's along with his hand moving to her shoulder, while he may had been wary of Bella, it seemed in his sleep his feeling for her were beginning to surface.

Bella loved his voice, and his face. This trip together was going to be long, but interesting because of what they would do. She was asleep quickly but she thought she felt something, her eyes opened up a little. It was two am and he was asleep, she saw his body responding to her. She placed her hand on his moving it to her hip and kept it there, she didn't mind, maybe it was a sex dream, she grinned at that and silently giggled.

David woke up around 10, he had a good sleep, perhaps Bella was to blame for that. He opened his eyes, his vision blurred a bit, but soon the image of Bella was all to visible along with how he was positioned. His leg on her's his hand her hip, he removed himself from her. He liked her, but he want he to think anything bad of him. He slowly got out of bed, not wanting to wake her up and put on his pants, steeping outside to stretch, his hair sticking out from his sleep.

He looked out at the road, thinking where to go next, he then looked back to the room, and thought about Bella. Maybe it was because he hadn't been with a girl in so, but he couldn't get her out of his head, her eyes, her smile, her face it was a photograph locked in his head, and he didn't mind, maybe there was a reason why he decided to take her along with her . "Good morning" David jumped as he heard someone talk to him, it was women who worked the front desk, drinking her coffee. "Mornin" replied David. "Nice car" she said "Could have sworn I've seen it before, that and your little girlfriend too" David looked at the car and back "She's not my... well" He didn't finish, "but hell as many people as I've seen you're bound to get them confused" she said, David smiled and looked back at the road.

Bella had enjoyed her sleep, she cuddled into the bed and yawned a little bit. When she woke up she noticed he was gone. She sat up and stretched, she got changed and thought she heard something. She saw David talking with a woman, something was wrong with her and didn't like it. She packed up everything and went outside putting there things in the car, she rushed over to David and whispered in his ear.

"Something doesn't feel right about her, we should go. " She said simply, she turned looking up at this stranger, boy something about this stranger bugged her. She looked at David "Come on honey we need to get going" She said walking over to the car and got inside it, turning to look at him.

David had no idea got into Bella, but she seemed kind of flustered. David just obliged as he got into the car and drove off....wait did she just me honey? Bella's word were a bit shocking to him, even if he did kind of liked it. As they drove, there a bit of silence between them, until David got up the courage to speak "Okay Izzy, you mind telling what got you all freaked out?" he asked looking at her a bit worried. Meanwhile back the motel the women was on the phone "A black mustang, right?" she said "It left just awhile ago".

Bella looked at him "Something is very wrong with that woman, she had a tape recorder behind her, I get feelings and they are never wrong." She sighed a little bit. "Is anyone tracking you down? for some reason?" She was worried, scared that someone maybe after them, she looked outside the passenger window and sighed. Closing her eyes she didn't care what he thought of them. But this was serious, she opened up her eyes and looked back at him, wanting to get to know his situation better.

David sighed as he drove, he went into a picnic area and parked there, shutting off the engine. He took a deep breath and looked over at Bella, "alright" he began "the truth is... this car isn't mine. It was given to me by accident by the mechanic, and I'm guessing the owners want it back". David really didn't even know if he could trust her with this, but what else could he do? "I probably should have told the guy when I had the chance, but there was something about this car, that.... can I ask you something" David didn't wait for Bella to answer.

"Do you ever remember driving with you parents or something and they come across the same intersection, one way goes right the other goes left, and they would always end up going right every single time, and you always wondered what was on the other side, when I grew up I found myself doing the same monotonous routine, until I got this car" David looked at wheel, holding it. "I thought getting it was a sign to finally take chances to have an adventure... and take that left turn in my life" He looked back at Bella confident in every word he said "I'm not giving this car," he said "But I'm not going to put you in the middle of all this, besides I'm the one they're looking for, not you. If you want I can drive you to the nearest town and drop you off there" He was serious about the car, but he didn't want someone else to pay for his stubbornness. It was Bella's choice, like the movie said ,leave and the story end or stay and see just how far the rabbit hole goes.

Bella listened to what he said, she looked at him the whole time, she thought about what he told her. When he said she should go she looked down. "I know what its like...there is something I need to tell you, since you are telling me about the car and you." She sighed. "I know what its like to go down a road, getting ready to turn left when something catches your eyes you turn right." She reached into her bag and took out a picture and showed it.

"They were my parents..they were killed by a drunk driver when I was 5. They died on arrival and I was in critical condition but I pulled through. The man only got a year and by the time i turned 11 he was out. I found him and ended up killing him, it was a choice ive never regretted. But I was wanted, for taking a life, because he took my parents lives. It was cold blood. Im not wanted but its to late for me to turn back now. I want to help you David, I know what its like to need help and can't get it. In time you will see you can trust me...I promise.

David remained silent as Bella explained, what she said seem to pale in comparison to his life. Despite everything she told him, it didn't change his opinion of her. He put his hand on her her's, her skin feeling so soft, and perhaps out of impulse kissed her softly on the lips, "Thanks for not bailing on me Izzy" he said to her "I don't want the things we did effect all this, I still wanna go all over the country and enjoy it, and I would love to it all with you". Just then he took something out the glove compartment.

"Here", he said "This was mom's, personally I'm the religious type, but it does hold some sentimental value, and I trust it to you", there was denying that he liked her, she trusted him with her past secret, that cross he gave her, showed she trusted her as well. David smiled at Bella a moment a silence came over them "well if we're done with our back story, how about we go get something to eat?" he asked trying to break the serious vibe around them.

Bella listened to him, she was happy she could count on him, what was funny was they trusted each other, even if they have known each other for 24 hours. Looking into his eyes she watched his hand go to the compartment. Seeing the necklace in her hand, she was honored, not even thinking of it she put it on and looked back into his eyes. Leaning in she kissed his lips for a moment, she was afraid he would reject her. She was used to that, never having a guy for herself. She looked outside her window and nodded, more to himself.

"Sounds great im starved" she said, not looking away, she was shy about certain things. She sighed a little closing her eyes. When she did, she saw herself as a child, by her parents. Her dreams hurt her in many ways. She was violent, but when she saw the man that killed her father, she lost it.

She had no regrets...Or did she?

David didn't say anything, all he did was kiss Bella back, putting his hand on her leg. She was a lot like him in some ways, both just wanting to forget the things they, no regretting what they did, but wanting it to loom over them, maybe that's why he liked her and wanted to be with her, also being so cute didn't hurt either. They couldn't go back and fix what they did if they wanted to, but that didn't mean they could keep going forward.

David put his hand on Bella's cheek as they looked at each other, making no doubt that he liked her a lot. He then started the car and turned on the radio wanting to break the awkward silence, listening the music, as they drove off.
