Question About NASCAR Drivers.
Why are there not more Black, Mexican and Female drivers? 
My wife says that Nascar actually encourages other than white men drivers.
She thinks that by the time what few try race car driving, and they get Nascar grade of driving skills, they are either injured and drop out or say...Screw this, them white dude are fucking Crazy!
What do you think?

Personally, I don't really give a crap if they meet their racial quotas or not. NASCAR is something I just don't get, and probably never will.
Call me close minded if you must, but I think it basically breaks down like this- You show up in Daytona or wherever, become increasingly more and more intoxicated as the hours blur by and blow all your money by helping to support your favorite beer distributors, and watch people drive really fast and turn left for four hours.
..............I know, it's a real hum-dinger.

Nascar has had a diversity program for a few years. It hasn't worked because the corporate heads don't care about diversity or broadening the sport, they have lost sight of what the sport was about.
Originally, Nascar drivers were all from the rural south because that's where the sport got it's start. The drivers started at their local tracks and worked their way up to the top series. The only driver left that fits that mold is probably Mark Martin.
The "stars" of today came to the top series because their parents got them started and they jumped into the top equipment right away.
I haven't watched a race all year and unless the sport finds its roots again, I probably won't ever watch again.

Because the sport's (and I use that term loosely) audience consists mainly of redneck, beer swilling yahoos with a good ol' boy mentality. It has so long been this way and it's not changing. While most of the rest of the civil world has moved beyond racism, the Rebel flag flyers have not...

it's probably because nascar sucks and isn't really a sport. there's nothing athletic about holding in your pee for hours on end while turning left and timing out your pit stops. the real question should be why the fuck does anyone even care about fucking nascar in the first place?

The tacit statement in the OP is this: "damn liberals always whining about not enough blacks here or there...hell, they are welcome to drive in NASCAR but they don't want to compete with us crazy uber-honkeys!"
I once drove my ex's brother across the state of Florida. The only reason he wasn't driving was because his daughter was sick and wouldn't ride in the back seat with anyone but him. He was a MP chauffeur in the Army and had driven NATO generals all around Europe. He was trained in Evasive Driving and Ambush Evasion and all that shit.
When we got to West Palm he said "Damn, you are a pretty good driver. I thought nobody from Jew York knew how to drive!" and he did this imitation of a little old Jewish man barely big enough to see over the wheel, driving old-womanishly.
