it's a problem if you're pregnant
what to do?
the swine flu (yeah yeah, I know, I know) is really really bad if you're pregnant. A girl over here just died - 19 and pregnant when she caught it. It's killed her. Back up: edit ... the cause of death is still being investigated, but it appears that the s-flu was to blame.
The medics are all urging pregnant women to have the jab because of the dangers to them and their foetuses if they catch it.
Unfortunately, there's a shortfall of the UN(?) approved vaccine without the adjuvant element and the women are being pressed to be vaccinated with the vaccine not yet approved by the UN or even tested on pregnant women. Though how they'd test it on pregnant women I don't know - not in this country, that's for sure.
But what a terrible dilemma. When I was pregnant I wouldn't even take a paracetomol! If I was sure I was getting the approved vaccine, I'd probably bite the bullet and hope against hope rather than gamble my baby's and my own life against contracting swine flu. But with the untested vaccine? What on earth are these poor women to choose?

I wasn't recommending it. I'm just saying it works both ways. Tracy doesn't.

If I was pregnant, a flu shot would be the least of my worries.
