The world as we know it is gone. Swallowed by a sickening and disturbing truth. A truth everyone denied and prayed wasn’t true. The things that went bump in the night, those monsters in the closet, are real.

As an alarm warns of the approaching dusk, it is then that the night comes alive. Many years ago, the city had decided that placing a curfew on the citizens and announcing the coming darkness were the only ways to keep the cities people safe. The filth of the city plagues the streets, the minds of its dwellers and the depths of the unknown. Behind all the sirens and the premise of safety, unfolds another world of conflict. For centuries sworn enemies have been at war, never seen by human eyes, their rage has escalated to heights unknown to humankind. Vampires, The Other, and Lycans, since the brink of time, have pledged their existence for the termination of the other. But now, this war has been taken to the public eye. It happens in the cities streets and no one can stop it.

The parliament decided that a borough would have to be handed over to the creatures. It was the only thing they could do to maintain control of the citizens and quarantine the creatures. Like they were a sickness or something. The strength of loyalties, black-market smuggling and sexual deviances seem to take precedents over the law and order that seems to have fallen to the wayside.

The balance of power wavers between the underworld forces. Each species has moments of control, only to be overthrown by others. Shall the Vampires prove to be too dominating or shall the Lycans overcome with their superior strength? Will The Others jump ahead of the rat race? District 23 remains as the battleground for these enemies of centuries old, as the human race becomes stuck in the middle and forced to realize the truth of darkness.

Basic Outline:



The present year is 2023 and the world is very different. Previous years have brought a disturbing truth to the population. Vampires, Lycans and others are real. Scientifically proven and they are out of hiding. Cities across the world have set up ‘quarantine’ areas for the creatures. A place to house them and keep them away from the general population.

The Others are just about everything outside of vampires or lycans. If you wish to be an Other, add it in your profile and we will approve of it or say no. Use some common sense. No twenty foot tall boogie men or anything too ridiculous.

There are also jobs within the district. Not many but some. Prostitutes, smugglers(will explain), bar keep and the like. Nothing fancy or extraordinary.

The smugglers basically keep the district alive. Anything can be smuggled in. Humans, liquor, clothing, food, etc. Smugglers can be either creatures or humans. Human smugglers have usually made a deal with a vampire or lycan stating that in return for smuggling, they will be turned. Most of the time, they are killed but it depends on the lycan or vampire.

Species aren’t suppose to acknowledge other species but it becomes hard with so many creatures shoved in one place. Vampires, Lycans and Others can’t sense their own kind or other kinds anymore. Everyone just smells like everything, basically.

Also, humans are allowed in the thread. Just know your character runs a higher chance of being killed (with your permission). If this does happen, feel free to make a new character. And please note that the parliament is totalitarianism. So yeah, that’s basically it.

Personality (Try to keep this one brief): Lateef's quiet exterior hides a deep soul filled with wanderlust. He longs to explore the outside world, get away from London and District 23, find forests to run in, rivers to swim. This inspires him to often take risks in making sojourns to the human parts of London. He can be quick to anger when him and his kine are threatened, but never rash to act.

Personality (Try to keep this one brief): Wonky. If Apple had to pick one word to describe herself, wonky was it. She wasn’t your typical vampire. Most were doom and gloom. Apple was covered in dessert and Carebear tattoos. Generally, she was happy ‘person’. But when push came to shove, she was a force to be reckoned with. Venom filled words and sarcastic attitude could really kill something.

Personality (Try to keep this one brief): Slither is a shifty, outgoing guy. Though outwardly pleasant, most get the feeling he is being dishonest with them, whether he actually is or not. He is constantly looking for advantage over anyone he deals with.

Other notes: Owner of The Snakepit, a biker bar in the borough.

Appearance (Picture link or describe): It...varies (gotta love the limited shapeshifting!), but her standard form is a tall, slender young woman with red hair and bright blue eyes with tiny horns on her forehead, standing about 5' 10" and weighing perhaps 125 pounds, plus the way of her black, leathery wings. Long legs, pale skin, full, red lips, smallish but firm and round breasts, and an ass you could bounce a quarter off of.

Race (Please no hybrids.): Succubus

Weapons (Max is 2): Innate powers! A succubus' kiss can kill, if she so wills it, and despite looking like a slender young woman, she is a demon, with all the resilience and strength that implies. But, since strength means nothing against a well-placed bullet, a Sig Sauer P250 pistol in .357.

Personality (Try to keep this one brief): Emotionally scarred, cold and disassociated, but good at hiding it. Really hates demons and demonspawn. Totally after power for power's sake. Succubus, so not above using her body as a weapon, distraction, bribe, or bargaining chip.

Description: Not as powerful physically as a vampire or werewolf or any number of other creatures, but way stronger than she looks. Her shapeshift abilities don't confer change past physical, cosmetic changes, like hiding her black wings and small horns. She's got a little leeway in height and build, apparent age, and can change the color of her skin, hair, and eyes, but won't be shifting into another race or anything of that nature.

Weapons (Max is 2): Demon magic. Though she is a somewhat powerful demoness, she is quite selfish when it comes to actually using any of her abilities.

Personality (Try to keep this one brief): The conflicts between other creatures, to be put simply, bore Lilith. Settling on the sidelines to watch them quarrel can be amusing for a time, but after awhile she finds her attention waning. To fix this, she has been known to attempt to add her own twists to the problem, bringing more provoking to the fire. Unlike her succubi cousins, she doesn't rely on sexual feeding, though does find the rather primal act to be quite amusing.... And she certainly likes to have fun.
