Ryan walked in and smiled at Camille when she asked about work. "Works going good. I'll tell you what I'm glad I'm done working on that big project. I've really earned this months' vacation I've got coming." He opened the bottle of wine and poured them each a glass. "Man it's going to be great... Just hanging around the house for a month. And, when I get back I will be the new head of product development." He said with a big smile, "So, Now I ask you, How was work?"

Cam chuckled at his words, finishing setting the table in a minute. Brushing her hair over her shoulder, she grabbed the offered glass of wine and brought it to her lips, taking a small sip. Her eyes watched him quietly for a moment, taking that time to muse again at how handsome he had become. It really confused her how he couldn't seem to keep a girlfriend. Where women blind? Anyway she looked at him, she would think he was great. He was sincere, had a great sense of humor, was kind of crazy in a good way, had a nice job, and was a great listener. He was quite the catch.

"Work was fine. That new game was approved. We had a board meeting today and the programmers and designers really outdid themselves with this one." she said happily as she stopped herself just short of going into full geek mode. Smiling sheepishly at him, she placed her glass on the table and walked towards the stove to turn it off and start draining and mixing the pasta "So much so, in fact, that I've decided to take a few weeks off for my birthday. You don't turn 27 every day."

"Anything you have planned for that vacation? Maybe I can tag along and do something fun on my birthday. Unless, of course, you'll think I'll cramp your style and will keep all the ladies away" she said with a wink as she mixed the pasta with some sauce. "Can you get the chicken for me? Its on that pan on top of the stove."

Ryan watched as Cam took a drink of her wine. He really wished he could get up the nerve to tell her that he was in love with her. She was wonderful. He could spend hours listing off all the great things about her. But every time she broke up with another boyfriend, he was in a relationship and couldn't break it off just to be with someone that might not love him back. And every time his relationship ended, and he was ready to tell her, she would tell him that she found someone new.

Ryan got the chicken out of the pan and looked at Cam with a strange glance, "Why on earth would you want to spend your vacation with me? What happened with you and Steve?"

Cam visibly winced at the mention of her most recent ex boyfriend. He had made her believe he was a nice, fun-loving man when really all he was was a masochist pig in the worst sense of the word. Not to mention the little tidbit that he forgot to mention; he had gotten the great idea of having his own harem. Shaking her head as she finished mixing the pasta, she placed the bowl with it on the table and moved to grab the plates, carefully plating a chicken piece on each one as well as some of the vegetables she had sautéed with garlic.

"Let's just say he wasn't who he appeared to be." she said in a quiet voice as she placed the food on the table and waited for him to sit. Taking a healthy drink from her wine to relax her nerves, she shrugged it off and gave him a small half smile. "Anyways, what do you say? We could always go on a trip somewhere... get you some exotic woman to be your wife"

After winking at him, she served him the pasta before serving herself and starting to eat.

Ryan was a little concerned as the way she said, 'Let's just say he wasn't who he appeared to be.' But he didn't press it... "Well, Lilly and I were thinking of going to Vegas but She found out today that she's being transfered to the Denver office of her company. She also found it kind of silly not to give the long distance thing a chance if she really loved him, but that was just her. Smiling reassuringly at him, she nodded "Well, Vegas sounds great. I've never been there."

"We can go watch half naked women and who knows what else. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, right?" she said with a laugh, starting to get excited. It had been a while since her last vacation and she couldn't wait to get some R & R.

Ryan smiled, "Yeah... Why not..." He looked at Cam and thought about telling her how he felt but he had a better idea. They finished dinner and were clearing the table, "Hey Cam, did you pick up that movie we wanted to see? "Yeah. Its on the table next to the sofa." Cam said as she finished picking up the dishes and carried them to the sink. Taking the plates in his hand, she nudged him gently with her hip towards the living room as she passed, starting to scrub the dishes. "Go set up ok? I'll be done with the dishes in a minute."

As she washed and rinsed the pile away, she was quiet, wondering what she could do to make him feel better.

"OK," he said, as he walked into the living room, put the movie in the Blu-Ray Player. Then, once she was in the room. He started the movie.

It was a romantic comedy about two best friends, a man and a woman. They had known each other all their lives and they both love each other but were too scared to act on their feelings. Well, the woman gets engaged and the man pretends to be happy about it. But, on the day of her wedding, he confesses his love for her right before the ceremony.

She is too stunned to respond, so she goes ahead with the ceremony. It goes off fine until they get to the part about speak now or forever hold their peace. She stops and confessed her love for her best friend in front of everyone. Her fiancé gets mad and storms out of the church. The two best friends decide to get married that day and they live happily ever after...

Ryan looked over at Cam and could see she was crying, he had to admit he had a few tears in his eyes, he handed her the box of Kleenex as he took one.

After finishing the dishes, Cam had walked towards the sofa and sat beside him, unable to curl her legs underneath her as she normally would because of her skirt. They laughed, blushed and cried throughout the whole movie Once it ended and they had both cleaned their tears away, she looked out the window to find that it was raining heavily outside, fog starting to come in as well. Frowning, she bit her lower lip and looked at Ryan.

"It looks pretty bad out there..." she commented quietly "Do you want to stay the night? You could use the spare bedroom upstairs and i think theres a shirt and some sweats here that you left that one time you got soaked on your way here."

She herself was itching to change, having always liked being in comfortable clothing.... or none at all.
