The creatures of Hopewell Forest are troubling little things. Always fighting, always trying to cause trouble. They rely on the Sprites and Fairies of the forest to help keep these troubles from getting out of hand, in turn doing their best to keep humans from discovering the magical beings that inhabit the woods with them.
For most of the Sprites and Fairies of Hopewell, the idea of a human seems nothing more than a myth; a creation of an overactive mind to keep magical creatures from wandering too far from their duties. Curious by nature, this can sometimes be rather hard; especially with the stories they hear from their animal friends. How can something talked about so much be simply a myth?
Each Sprite and Fairy has a duty all its own, whether its tending to guard duty, keeping the shops in order, helping to care for wounded or sick animals, or simply keeping the hidden village of Longtree running as it should with care on surrounding waters, winds, plants, and the like.
Most creatures of the forest have a respect for the flighty tiny beings, while some find them to be a nuisance. After all, it simply gets too hard to find a decent meal of a tasty baby bird when a fairy or sprite shows up.... Some of these angered creatures have began to wonder on other possibilities for food- What would one of those magical little troublemakers taste like?
Some side notes:
-For sake of gender identification, "Sprite" is male. "Fairy" is female.
-Animals are anthropomorphous around the fairies/sprites/other animals, but seem regular creatures around humans.
- Fairies/Sprites are eternally young. How? Sex. Fairy Nectar is found only from an aroused fairy and has healing abilities, as well as the power to increase a creature's life span. Sprite Nectar has the same effect.
- Fairies/Sprites can change their size at will, but lose a good amount of their powers from doing so. (No flight, no magic, no invisibility to human eye.)

Name: Shylyn (Shy)
Age: 118
Position: Water Fairy
Shylyn may be referred to as "Shy", but its the furthest thing from the truth when it comes to her personality. Very outspoken, her tendency to want attention often leads to trouble. She greatly loves to help out animals, though can be a bit naive sometimes, falling victim to numerous pranks and mean jokes by some of the creatures.
Shy has never actually come across a human herself, but knows of a number of different fairies and sprites who claim to have met them. Each story tells a different ending; the beings were kind, they were cruel, they tried to hurt them, they wanted to talk to them. So many versions- It left Shy wanting to know for herself. Her greatest goal anymore is to meet an actual human for herself, even if her friends have been insisting she give up such a foolish concept.
