When the Husband Goes Away

ooc: Sample PM, please

Melissa, or Mel, had just dropped her husband off at the airport. Her husband who was 5 years older than her and rich. All she really was to him was his petite trophy wife that he liked to rub in other men's faces. Even his father's.

She didn't love her husband, and didn't think he loved her. She did love his money though, otherwise she would have left him a year ago. It was why she didn't feel the least bit guilty over what she was about to do.

Mel checked herself in the rear view mirror as she pulled into her garage, the door closing behind her. She got out of the car and entered the house, where her father-in-law was staying with them for a while.

The two of them had been flirting and teasing each other behind her husband's back all week, and she knew that the moment he left on his business trip (where he would probably fuck some secretary or hooker), that she would be crossing the line with his own father.

My son is an idiot, Sam thought to himself. Other people may think he's smart because he's rich, but Sam knew better. He was just lucky, not to mention arrogant enough to just step on other people to get what he wanted.

It was the same with Melissa, his new young trophy wife. He had wanted her so he got what he wanted. But Sam doubted that he loved her, and he knew she didn't love him.

How did he know that? Because she had pretty much said so one day. They had been teasing each other a little lately and even flirting a little. One day they were being playful and he pinched her cute little butt then slapped it lightly. "Oh Sam!" she had said. "I wish your son was as much fun as you."

Sam had let it pass but hadn't forgotten it. Melissa was a real cutie, petite and shapely with a pretty face. Sam knew he wanted do more than just flirt with her.

Then his son had proved Sam right beyond any shadow of a doubt. He announced he was going off on a business trip and would be leaving Mel and Sam alone at home. What a fucking idiot, Sam thought, dropping this opportunity in their laps.

He hoped that Mel was thinking the same thing he was thinking. He was anxious to find out. He paced back and forth in the living room, waiting for her to return from dropping her husband off at the airport.

Mel was pissed off as she drove home. She couldn't believe her husband was going away again. He was probably planning on fucking some blond bimbo. It shouldn't matter to her but it did. It made her so angry. When she finally got home, she slammed the door.

Bastard, she thought to herself. She went and poured herself a big glass of wine. She needed it. She couldn't believe her husband. Why would he cheat on her?

Sam heard the garage door open and close, then heard the car door slam, then heard the door into the kitchen slam too. This doesn’t sound good, he thought. He had been hoping Mel would come home in a good mood, maybe happy to have some time free from his idiot son. He had been hoping she was thinking about what he and she might do during their time alone. But this didn’t sound like that.

He quickly sat down on one end of the sofa and picked up the thick novel he had been pretending to be reading. He put on his glasses and opened the book to where he had bookmarked it and took a sip from his drink that he had left on the side table. He tried to act casual, nonchalant.

He looked over the top of his glasses as Melissa came in from the kitchen, a large glass of wine in her hand.

“So, he’s off then? Did everything go all right?” he asked innocently.

"Perfectly fine." She snapped at him. She didn't mean to snap at him. She was angry with his son, not him.

"Tell me again why I married your son." She said, still pissed, because she knew once her husband arrived to his destination, he'd probably wind up in bed with some hooker. And god, it infuriated her.

Sam let his book fall into his lap and looked at her empathetically.

“Sounds like somebody could use a drink,” he said. “I’d offer to get you one, but I see you already have your glass of wine.”

He patted the sofa next to him. “Why don’t you sit down here and tell me what’s bothering you?”

She sat down on the couch, taking another large sip of her drink. "What do you want me to to tell you? Tell you that I know your son is probably going to be banging anything with legs on his trip." She snapped again.

Sam sighed. This wasn’t the way he had pictured it going. He wasn’t sure how to assuage Melissa’s anger. He decided to try levity.

“Well, I really don’t think he’ll be doing it with any guys, I’m pretty sure he doesn’t swing that way,” he laughed lightly. “But he has always had a thing for the ladies, I’ll admit that.”

He put his hand on her leg. “But why are you letting it bother you so much, Mel? I thought you were past caring for him like that?”

"He's my husband and I thought he loved me." I sigh softly. "I didn't think he would go away on trips just to be banging some cheap girl in some crappy hotel room." I sigh again, wiping a tear.
