3 days.
Harley had been crying for 3 days straight.
Non-stop.
No sleep.
No food.
Just tears.
One of the perks to insanity.
Her Mr. J had not only beaten her senseless, which was normal and fine, but then he'd ignored her. Which wasn't completely abnormal, but was no longer fine.
After three days, the girl simply let go and passed out for another three days.
Another perk.
She was woken by a voice in her head she barely recognized. Harleen Quinzel still lived inside Harley's mind.
"Get up," the voice whispered.
Harley did.
"Get changed."
Harley ripped off her normal costume and stepped into the shower.
When finished, she made sure her hair was suitably split down the middle, jet-black and blood-red, applied a modicum (for Harley) of make-up and pulled on a mix of red, black, fishnet clothes, many more than a little torn. 'Riotgrrl' was as close to normal street clothes as Harley could do.
If it hadn't been for Harleen, she wouldn't have remembered to pull on boots (the ones with the hidden knives).
"Go. Its time to go," Harleen whispered.
"But where? Where can I go without my Puddin'? Without my Mr. J???"
"Shhhh...I'll take care of you. Just go."
Hours later, soaking wet from the near constant rain of Gotham, and with gentle guidance from Harleen, the girl ended up in Ivy's apartment.
She shivered under the blanket Ivy gave her, unable to speak.
Suddenly, she threw herself at Ivy, grabbing hold of the woman and sobbing again.
"Oh Red!!!! He's so mean to me!!" she held on and cried as heavily as she had the first three days. "Why won't he love me back???"
