I'm puzzled by what you mean by "one of the three television stations." I am sure that, ever since TV started, there have been a lot more than three stations.

I don't think so. And in some regions, there weren't even three available. Central Virginia when I went to the University only had NBC.

NBC is a network, not a station. There are hundreds of stations affiliated with NBC. also with the other networks.

I remember when JFK died.
My whole school assembled out on the front lawn to hear the news. I listened whilst staring into the deep blue lacquer of someone's new Oldsmobile that was parked by the curb... Then I found my sister and we walked home.
five years later when Bobby was killed, the whole thing meant a lot more to me.

I remember seeing the Green Hornet on barely color TV in the 60's.
I remember Mitch Miller and granddad.
I remember seeing names of the dead soldiers scroll on the TV during the Vietnam war.
I remember seeing Dick Nixon say 'Sock it to me' on Laugh In.
I remember when MTV came on air (TV Killed the Radio Star).
IR who shot JR, Friends, Love Boat, LA Law, Hill Street Blues...
Boone's Farm, PBR, Schlitz and Ripple in high school.
Skateboards with roller skate wheels.
Boom boxes, Walkman, iPods.
Huge VHS video cameras on the dads' shoulders.
Other stuff...

Before cable TV was widespread and before UHF stations started popping up, many people could only receive stations that were within a hundred miles or so. That usually meant only a single NBC station, a single ABC station & a single CBS station.
We could almost always pick up NBC, ABC came in clearly about 75% of the time, CBS about 50%.
The state of the weather greatly affected how good a signal would be.

I remember when eight-track was the last innovation in electronics--ever.

Oh, in that case we had ONE station in Central Virginia. I don't see a functional difference.

I remember when Coca-Cola was available only in actual glass bottles.
I remember when Farrah Fawcett was the most popular woman on television.
I remember buying my first album and what the vinyl felt like.
I remember a time when it was fun to play with a bolo paddle.

Edge of Night soap opera was on the TV at my babysitter's house.
I was too young to know what all the adults on that program were
talking about. One of the adults at her house was in an uproar
because Marilyn Monroe was wearing nothing but a slip, and they
were showing that on TV! Oh, the scandal!

do u remember when - this wasn't a fact of life...
"I had this guy leave me a voicemail at work so I called him at home and then he e-mailed me to my BlackBerry and so I texted to his cell. And now you just have to go around checking all these different portals just to get rejected by seven different technologies. It’s exhausting."...Drew Barrymore

You mean to tell me that you didn't wrap tin foil around your antennas so you could get rid of the snow?

Do you remember how spooky the music use to be.
One year I recorded it and played it when the little kids came around Trick or Treeting. It scared the daylights out of most of them.

Okay, the best I have is I remember when there were awesome shows on TV like Beauty and the Beast, Forever Knight and Hylander. They don't make shows like that anymore

Excerpt from Stolen Magic-Part 6
A hand closed around her breast, more hands gripped to her legs. Covered in mud, in Slater’s blood, her father’s words came to her again. A dagger sheathed in the belt of one of the men came into view, and as she had all those years ago she reacted without thought and grabbed it. Swinging out blindly the blade hit flesh and she pressed down hard. Hot blood spilled over her hand. The grasping hands released her.

I was attracted and repelled, by the music on Dark Shadows.
There was a matinee show at the movie theatre on Saturdays.
The parents would drop all of kids off at the theatre with candy,
soda and popcorn money.
So, that kind of music attracts me and on some level, makes me feel afraid.
Some of those afternoon horror movies gave me nightmares.
Some of them were just something to watch, for amusement.
And talk to the other children about.
