A Love Spell

I shouldn't be here. Sitting alone on a fallen log in the middle of the woods. Ok maybe not the middle of the woods, more like the woodsyish area behind my house. In my hand was a photo of the girl of my dreams.

She was in almost all of my classes. Just as she'd been there since 7th grade. I was in love with her, just like half the populace of Lincoln High School. Like half of the Populace she didn't acknowledge my exsistance. And why should a girl like her pay any mind to any of the slobs that want nothing more than to paw all over her.

Not me though, I didn't just want sex from her. I wanted to love her and I wanted her to love me back. The kind of love you read about in cheesy romance novels. Of course the sex that accompanies that kind of love would only be a plus. God the things I could do to her body, it makes me shiver just thinking about it.

Which brings me to why I was sitting in the woods with a picture of her. A picture, a ritual book purchased from an occult shop, and a small knife. This of course was a crock of bullshit, but at least you see the source of the madness that was soon to be called my life.

I had the bright idea of using witchcraft to make her love me. Real true and comeplete love. I dont believe in witchcraft personally, at least I didn't before this happened. At the time I was lonely and I thought the worst that could happen is nothing. I was wrong.

So here I was with a love spell ritual ready to go. I had the book open to the page I wanted, the picture of her on my lap. I began waving my hand over the picture, caressing it every so often as per instructions written in the book. I chanted the passage on the page over and over again. Then using the knife I cut my palm, wincing as the blade bit into my hand. I wiped my blood over the picture chanting the passage louder.

Then I snapped the book closed and buried the picture under the fallen tree I has been sitting on.

I had high hopes for the next three days. As I sat in class I would watch her walk past me hoping upon hope to see some sign that my spell worked. Yet as usual I wasn't even so much as a dot on her radar. I never really expected the spell to work, but I had at least a little bit of hope.

Then a strange thing happened over the weekend. While she was off with her friends or whatever she did over the weekend, Jennifer Mills fell in love.

I woke on Monday morning to the alarm alerting me it was time to go to school. I rolled over and stared at my ceiling for a few minutes, preparing myself for another horrible school day. I didn't know that my life would never be the same.

Jennifer Mills was the dark haired beauty with the perfect body and smile to go with it. Her eyes were unique; when you looked within them it was like a cloudy day with a thunder storm in the mix, a beautiful odd soft gray color that just set off the rest of her sharp features. Her hair was a soft brown with natural bouncing curls that sprung with each step she took. Moving around her face were wisps of long thin strands that added to her look. There was nothing that wasn’t perfect about her from her hair to her firm rounded breasts, her slender build to her small feet with painted toe ails that always matched what she wore like her long manicured nails.

She was captain of the cheerleading squad and had been since Jr. High School. She was voted most popular since about the same time as well, her personality was great but that’s only if you were in her clique, other than that she wouldn’t even give you a first glace and there was no doubt that unless you were one the popular ones, a sports player or come from money you were never going to get close to her in any way, shape or form.

Jennifer and the squad were going with a group from the football team on a weekend camping trip, it was hard to believe they were going actual camping with their prissy candy ass but that was the story she , they told all their parents. Thursday flew by and it was now the end of the school day, Pricilla, Candy, Sophia were three of the squad going for the weekend, the guys were gathering outside in the parking lot as the girls did inn the hallway. The crowd of kids shuffled by and as always the group paid no mind to any of them and they twirled their hair, gossiped and finalized their plans for Friday morning.

That morning was a Friday and school was closed for the day giving them all a long three day weekend and plans were already set to go with the ‘group’. Jennifer dressed in a short mini skirt and matching top, slipped into her heeled sandals and grabbed her bags as she headed down to the kitchen meeting her parents as they sat at the table drinking coffee and reading the newspaper swapping it back and forth once each was done with a section.

Ryan Mills was a high class lawyer, he was hardly home ad many a rumors went around about him and other females shacking up all over the coasts, from one to the other he was to have a few young females awaiting him to arrive for sex. Jennifer didn’t care as long as the cash and credit flow never stopped or the cars…gifts good ol’ daddy would give her. Jennifer had to admit, her father for the age of fifty was a very handsome man, and his body was one any twenty-one year old stud would die for. He worked out daily and ate right; his body was truly a temple.

Katherine Styles-Mills was forty seven years old and didn’t look a day over thirty-two, she like her husband worked out daily and loved botox and her plastic surgeon. She hated to be called Kathy, she thought it sounded like a name you would call the maid which they had a few of. Katherine worked as a top notch advertiser for a crème de la crème fashion magazine for the past ten years.

Both her parents lived in their own worlds and Jennifer was never a part of it, she came and went as she basically pleased, and in turn if she stayed out of trouble and kept her grades up they bought her things, not little things but big things from cars to jewelry to clothing…whatever helped them ease their guilt. “Don’t forget I’ll be camping for the weekend…” she said as she grabbed a glass of juice and stood there in the kitchen leaning against the counter at the sink.

“Okay, be safe and have fun…” they said to her and she sighed softly and rolled her eyes and then grabbed her bags and headed out closing the door behind her and not looking back.

Jackson was star quarterback for Lincoln high school Lions, he was handsome and voted most popular male in school, and they were a pair, a modern ken and Barbie couple. He stood there outside by his Avalanche waiting for her, she handed him her bags with a long lingering kiss. “I’m ready to get out of here...Vegas here we come!” Jennifer said as she hopped into the passenger seat and cranked up the music as they headed out to pick up the rest the group.

After everyone was gathered in the Avalanche the fun began as they headed to Vegas for the weekend, with each coming from money, the sky was the limit and they all knew it. The trip went smoothly, it took fifteen hours, long hours till they arrived at the hotel and checked in, each was a couple sharing a room and of course Jennifer was with Jackson, and there was just one bed.

Jackson tackled Jennifer on the bed and laid over her kissing her hard as she semi fought him away. “You said when we got to Vegas that this will be where we have sex …” he said crawling off of her with a pissed off attitude.

“We just got here Christ cut me a break! You don’t need to be a dick about it…” Jennifer said as she began to unpack and place her clothing away. She wasn’t happy that he jumped her, they had been a couple for a long time, and even thought they had did a lot of things sexually they had never went all the way and tonight would be that night as long as he wasn’t an asshole towards her about it.

During the week following Sam’s casting of the love spell upon Jennifer Mills, Sam noticed no difference with Jennifer’s behavior. He watched her as he always did from afar, keeping hidden from view, but she showed no signs of any interest in Sam whatsoever. Sam knew it wouldn’t work, after all it was witchcraft for crying out loud. Sam kicked himself for having such a foolish fantasy, welcome to reality Sam.

No something was wrong , he must have fucked the spell up in some way. There were clear cut cases of voodoo spells and other supernatural spells having uncanny effects. Determined to get his spell to work he spent Monday night looking up spells and whatnot on the internet. Of course he found a lot of websites promising results and slightly different versions of the spell he had cast from the book. Nothing explained why his spell didn’t work, or if it had worked how long the spell would take to show signs in its target.

Choosing not to trust the information on the internet Sam looked up the name of an Occult bookstore in town, making plans to go there after school.

Tuesday Sam again watched Jennifer to see if his spell had done anything, but alas she was unreceptive. Her boyfriend Jackson was kind enough to give him a mega wedgie on the way to math class. Sam glared after the big asshole as he trotted away laughing his face off. What could Jennifer possibly see in that overgrown gorilla. The dude was like a giant six-year-old, how the fuck had he gotten Jennifer’s affections. Sam cringed at the mental images of Jennifer kissing and hanging on him. He pictured Jennifer’s arms around him while Jackson stared in disbelief as they blatantly tongue kissed each other. Sam wondered if Jennifer really tasted like berries as he imagined she did.

After school Sam went to a bookstore called “The Wican’s Tomb”. The store reeked of incense and had a very dark atmosphere. The clerk was a creepy looking older woman with long multicolored dark dreads. She watched Sam quietly as he began to browse through the selection of so-called spell books. He cracked open a few of the books that caught his eye, but didn’t see what he was after.

The woman behind the counter spoke out to him. “What can I do for you, young man?”

Sam sighed and walked up to the counter. He took a deep breath and explained what he was trying to do.

“A love spell?” The woman asked with a smirk. “Well I may have something that can help you. I have a spell that’s very powerful so you must not mix it with any other spells or there could be serious problems.” She pulled out a book and a pad of paper. Sam watched as she flipped through the book until she found the right spell and began writing it out for him. “When you do this you may not see effects for a few days, sometimes up to a week before anything happens. That’s because this spell is so strong it rewrites you true love’s whole chemistry to make her yours.”

Sam blinked, “Wait I want her to love me, I don’t want a slave.”

She glanced up, “True love is slavery. Slavery to each other.”

She finished writing and slid the paper toward Sam. He took the paper and pulled out his wallet but the woman shook her head. “I would not feel right charging for love. You take this and go get the woman of your dream and treat her right.”

Sam thanked her with a smile and went home. The spell she had written down looked similar to the one that he had done beforehand only this one required more than a picture. There was a note that said if her could get some of her hair the spell would be more effective.

So the following day Sam snuck after Jennifer when she went into gym
class. He waited for her to change for class, then went into the locker room. It took Sam a bit of guessing but he managed to figure out which locker was Jennifer’s. Since the disaster at Columbine they no longer allowed locks on lockers s Sam only had to open her locker and yank bit of her hair from the brush. Despite himself he sniffed it, the smell of her shampoo was like a field of flowers.

He snuck back out of the locker room and snuck off.

Back home he sat at his desk with the spell sheet laid out of the paper and the clump of Jennifer’s hair. He a deep breath and preformed the new spell.

The weekend in Vegas turned out decent enough for her to give in to Jackson, what he didn’t really know was that she really wasn’t a virgin but after all this time that’s what she wanted him to think so in bed that night after they all went out and seen a bit of town and had something to eat they ended up in bed together and she pretended to be that virgin he wanted in bed, and she got away with it. Telling him all things he wanted to hear making him feel great in bed and yet she got nothing back from him. She hated needing to tell him things that were far from true to feed his ego; she found that more a turn off than anything.

That next morning he was all happy and ready to go at it again and Jennifer was so glad when the guys invaded their room bright and early by pounding on the door, and the girls followed and when Jennifer opened the door they all came piling inn on the couple. She knew then that she was off the hook for another round with Jackson, a blessing in her eyes.

“Come on dude get dressed Vegas awaits us!” Ryan yelled as she tackled the almost naked Jackson. Ryan’s voice went low as he whispered something to Jackson’s ear and then jumped up off him and left Jackson’s laying there on the couch with a smile in his boxers.

The girls all gathered I the kitchen sitting at the bar discussing what they were going to do for the day, each deciding on shopping and maybe catching a how which didn’t interest the guys at all they had their own secretive plans that didn’t involve the girls but they were fine with that.

Jennifer and her friends hit the strip looking all around with eyes as big as gems stones taking in all the sights, shopping in stores they may never get to again or not till at least when they got into college. Stopping I a small coffee shop they settled and started talking about everything going on these days, more or less sharing little secrets among each other and gossiping.

Candy and Sophia shared about their night with the guys, the three laughed as they talked about sex sharing the things that females would only do. “Ryan is a great lover and oh my god what a set of balls on him….I couldn’t believe their size…while we were fucking...”

‘Ew-w-w-w! Shut up girlfriend!” Sophia said as she took over and spoke out as well. “We were going at it and he was grunting so fucking loud he sounded like some animal in heat! It took him a few tries even to get it in me, I was ready to just sit on him but he said no he wanted the top….but damn he’s a screamer can’t fuck him in the bathroom at school that’s for sure.” The girls all laughed as the two went back and forth sharing their night and then looked at Jennifer as Sophia spoke up, “well spill it girl!’

“Ugh! Do I have to?” Jennifer said as she dropped her head to her folded arms on the table.

“OH yes Girl we both did let’s have the scoop!” They both said at the same time.

“We want to know how Mr. Football jock is in bed…spill it!’ Candy said.

“Fine…fine!” Jennifer replied as she lifted her head and took a sip of her coffee while her fingers fiddled with the fork that was sitting o the plate of her partial eaten breakfast. “He thinks, well thought I was a virgin all this time and I pretended I was, not like he’s one right? But, anyways he’s far from a great lover that I can tell you and he’s lets say not very endowed…I was actually bored. I think I’d rather have a screamer or a guy with big balls…” they all laughed when she said that.

“Man, I’d have thought he’d be this great guy in bed, I’m not sure why I thought that…” said Sophia.

“Yea me as well…maybe because of his reputation unless it’s you and not him?” Candy said as both girls looked to her.

“Don’t stick up for him girl, we know you always wanted to fuck him!” Sophia said rather loudly as Jennifer looked about seeing if anyone over heard them and blushed a bit as a table full of men looked at them three with impish smiles.

“Sh-h-h-h people are looking.” Jennifer said as she felt embarrassed and decided to drop the conversation and change the subject. “So where to next, are we seeing a show or sight seeing again?”

Sophia crossed her legs and sat back, out of the corner of her eye she saw the table of men looking over to them as she squirmed a bit resettling, flipped her hair with her fingers and showed a bit more leg getting their attention. “We could pick up men and have a great time.” A coy look came upon her face as she looked at both girls and then pointed to the table of men close by without them noticing she was and giggled like a school girl.

Candy and Jennifer looked past Sophia and smiled and then continued the conversation. “The guys went to either stripper bars or a brothel no doubt…” Candy said.

Jennifer’s brow rose up, “If that’s the case I am not sleeping with him again, no way not in this world of disease.”

Sophia laughed, “Maybe he’ll get more experience and be able to satisfy you.”

“He needs about four more inches added then…” Jennifer said and chuckled.

The girls spent the day shopping and taking in a show or two while the guys went to a few stripper bars and used their fake I.D.s buying a hooker out inn an alley way that for three hundred dollars sucked them dry one after another and allowed them each to fuck her anally against the wall filling her with their young hot cum. After that they headed on the town hitting a few more bars trying to find something similar to what they paid for earlier, and after finding it they returned back to the hotel and raided the mini bar on their last night there, all three drunk and passed out when the girls returned.

Candy and Sophia helped the two guys back to their rooms while Jennifer shook her head leaving him passed out on the chair and went to bed, she sighed in relief and closed her eyes pondering her next move. Their families were best friends, entangled in business together and did all the big costly functions with each other as well, it seemed like he was meant to be her destiny in almost an arranged marriage sort of thing and if that was the case Jennifer knew she wouldn’t be the happy bride inn the equations, she had dreams, college, and wanted a man that could please her in bed with a great career and money…to keep her in the lifestyle she had been accustomed to and grew up in.

Jennifer wanted her own career in the fashion world and knew there were possibilities with her talent and family connections, she couldn’t wait to head out into the real world and college, cut strings and hopefully move on with somebody new. She knew her family wouldn’t approve, her parents always said sometimes you do things that you need to not that you want to, and that would mean more or less keeping Jackson as a boyfriend and a future husband.

The ride home from Vegas was a long one, the guys were hung over and the girls were all ready to get back and change and fall back into their normal routine. Candy and Sophia were the type that would brag all about it to the rest of the squad where Jennifer would rather keep the events of their trip to herself. She had hoped telling the two who were her best friends about Jackson sucking in bed and having a small penis would remain between the three, she realized she may have screwed up by sharing those secrets.

The week went by as ‘normal’ or as normal as it could be she felt herself growing a bit distant from Jackson and she wasn’t exactly sure why and he noticed it to. The squad practiced everyday after school while the guys did as well, but something had changed inside her, maybe the weekend made her grow up a bit and realize there was something else she was missing, but just couldn’t pin point this strange feeling that had over come her.

Jackson met up with her that Friday and pulled her aside, “M-m-m-m baby you look so sexy in that cheerleading outfit, I can’t wait to get into your panties after the game tonight.” He said as he pawed her feeling her up as his arms wrapped around her grabbing her ass and lifting her up grinding against her.

She pushed him away by using her hands against his chest but his hold was tight around her, she looked seeing students passing them, hearing gasps and giggles as he groped her up. “Stop it, yes were still on the groups headed to the lake, I talked to the squad, the bon fire is starting at seven.”

Jennifer turned her head and watched as a guy walked by and starred at them, it was the same one that Jackson gave a wedgie to earlier that week, ripping his white underwear all the way up and almost off him. He had short brown hair and wore black glasses, lanky build from what she could tell under his slightly baggy clothing.

Jackson turned his head and snickered at him, “keep starring asshole and next time you’ll find you fucking underwear up around your ears.”

Jennifer looked to him and recognized him, he was in almost everyone of her classes but she never really knew he existed nor did she know his name but for some reason he stuck in her head for a few moments, there was something about him and it was another mystery added to those she already had going on inside her mixed up head.

“Leave him alone, you are so immature!” Jennifer said as she ripped away from his arms and turned walking the opposite way down the hall to the parking lot letting Jackson standing there alone as she walked out the door to her car getting in it, starting it and left the school parking lot to go home, shower and get ready for the game and the bon fire afterwards.

The bon fire was open to anyone and everyone, it was being held at the lake where it had been for what seemed like eternity. She heard stories of what happened over the years at them, with the huge amount of kids that showed up of all ages from not only their school but others. In a way she was looking forwards to it and in a way she wasn’t but it beat spending a Friday night at home with the help while her parents were off doing their own thing.

While getting ready the image of that nerdy guy came into her head, and lingered there for a few minutes. She smiled and then it slipped out and thoughts went to the game tonight and cheers they had been practicing for weeks, new ones that were a team effort to create.

Sam sighed as the weekend rolled on. He did not get a phone call from Jennifer of her proclaimation of her love for him. The weekend was actually rather boring once he got the school work done. He spent his weekend watching TV and playing on his computer all the while keeping his eyes on the phone.

When he woke Monday morning he was not surprised that nothing had happened over the weekend. Jennifer hadn't and wouldn't call him because of course, witchcraft is a stupid work of fantasy. She would never love him, she would never talk to him, he was nothing to her and that's how he would stay.

He let the hot water of the shower wash away his sorrow and self pity. It was a stupid idea and it had been worth a shot. At least he would not look back on his life wondering what if. He grabbed his breakfast quickly and ate his pop-tart while he climbed into his crummy piece of shit hand-me-down Honda. It ran and took him to school and back safely so he couldn't complain. Although he could picture the nice big truck Jennifer's boyfriend drove, and he looked at the passenger seat. Try as he might, he could not picture Jennifer ever sitting in the shitty seat.

Sighing he drove to school and let the day begin. Monday went by like normal for him. Tuesday was the same.

Then a funny thing happened on Wednesday. He was walking down the hall toward his fifth period and he saw Jennifer and her boyfriend Jackass or Jackson or whatever his name was. Jennifer was in her boyfriends arms but Sm noticed something different about the two of them. Jennifer looked very uncomfortable being molested by the Jock. The sight sparked a glint of hope in Sam's heart and he stared at them a little harder than he should have.

"Keep starring asshole and next time you’ll find you fucking underwear up around your ears.”

Sam jerked his gaze away and darted off down the hall. But as he went he heard Jennifer speak up in his defense. Sam grinned and nearly squealed in delight. Maybe the spell was working, but it was working slowly. He couldn't be sure but his last class was with Jennifer so maybe he would be given the chance to talk to her.

Sam's hope was stomped quickly when Jennifer walked into sixth period without so much as a glance in his direction. Sam felt defeated and he slumped into his chair. The situation was the same the rest of the week. Aside from that one mention of him, Jennifer went on with her life without the slightest dabble into Sam's exsistance.

There was a big football game Friday night followed by a bon fire. Sam never usual went to these events because the potential for embarasment was too great. Honestly Sam didn't know why he decided to sneak under the bleachers to watch the game. He did enjoy the show Jennifer put on in her cheerleading outfit though. During the game he must have pictured doing legions of naughty things to Jennifer while she wore the short blue and yellow cheer skirt.

After the game Sam let the stands clear out and waited a reaonable amount of time before he arrived at the bon fire. By the time he was there most of the kids were already by the fire on the beach laughing and drinking beer bought with fake I.D.'s or big brothers. From the parking lot Sam could make out Jennifer hanging with some of her cheer friends near the jocks. Her boyfriend kept moving around her saying what sounded like douchebag comes ons to Sam.

"What are you doing here fuckhead?" A big guy said to Sam as he walked toward him from the beach.

It was Derek Farachi, a typical sidekick to the pain Jennifer's boyfriend caused him. Now he was buzzed on cheap beer and that would make him extra dangerous. Sam stepped back to the door of his car in case he had to get away very quickly.

"Hey I asked you a question you fucking weird piece of shit." He said louder, grabbing the attention of most of the people on the beach.

Sam frowned, now he would look like a bitch in front of Jennifer. He didn't like backing away but against someone as big as Derek he didn't stand a chance.

"I just wanted to check out the fire." He said.

"You ain't invited dickhead. Get the fuck out of here before I decide to do something bad to you." This came from Jackson as he trotted up to aid his buddy in bullying a guy half their size.

Jennifer met the squad at the game, which was out of her normal routine, usually she picked up a few of them but tonight she just didn’t feeling like the company. Pulling in she made her way to the field and stood at the side with the rest as they got ready to cheer as the game started, the referee speaking and introducing both teams and the crowd yelling and screaming out the girls then started to perform.

The game seemed to drag on tonight to Jennifer, it ended up with the team winning and from there she joined the rest the squad in the girls locker room where everyone was pumped up but her, they changed and she ended up taking a few squad members with her to the bon fire where everyone was gathering fast and the booze and whatever else was used for recreation was as well.

Jennifer showed up wearing just a pair of cut off shorts and a tank top with her sweatshirt wrapped about her neck loosely. Jackson was there already and drinking fast ad heavy like the rest the team and everyone else. She groaned as she got closer to the group and stepped to her squad and stood there listening to the conversation going on and then felt Jackson slip up behind her and grab around her grabbing her tits mauling her before all making her very uncomfortable.

“Fuck ya could have wore something easier to remove or get into like a skirt like the rest, damn why you acting like a fucking nun or something?” he said to her as she shook her head.

Turning to him knocking his arms from around her she huffed, “well I’ll stop acting like a fucking nun when you start acting your age and stop acting like a dickhead...”

Jennifer felt him grab about her upper arm as he yanked her from the group as their eyes watched and then they turned as Jackson gave them a glare…”Your acting different what the fuck crawled up your ass? Its bon fire night and you know what I want from you, and it was all planned tonight, only once at the hotel in Vegas and nothing since I am a fucking man and have needs...”

She wanted to break out laughing listening to him rattle on, but she didn’t want to cause a scene as he was already doing that for them both and the night just started. Jennifer walked away and stood by the girls again, close yet not in that circle not wanting a beer or anything else as Jackson stood there looking at her.

"What are you doing here fuckhead?" She heard said loudly and turned her head seeing Derek at a car not familiar to her and a guy that kind of did but she couldn’t place him at first and then it hit her who it was and she felt his feeling of sorrow and sadness come over her, not pity but genuine sadness for him. Jennifer watched as he backed away from Derek who like Jackson; you add booze and get double instant asshole. "Hey I asked you a question you fucking weird piece of shit."

Jennifer shook her head and she watched this unfold and listened to it, then watched as Jackson had to get into it as well. "You ain't invited dickhead. Get the fuck out of here before I decide to do something bad to you." Jackson said to the guy who did nothing to deserve this bullshit treatment he was getting.

Jennifer had enough of the drunken two picking on the guy who did absolutely nothing to deserve it, she walked up to them and stepped between the two bigger guys and the lanky one. “Let the guy alone he came here and he’s allowed to be here like the rest of us, hell some of these people here don’t even go to our school so shit just back off the guy!”

She had no idea where that came from but she didn’t mean it to embarrass him but to back the guys off one since they were drinking and two since he didn’t deserve that treatment.

“Your girl is defending this nerd man, that’s fucked up bro!” Derek said as he laughed and staggered backwards as Jennifer felt Jackson’s eye burning a hole through her as he looked at her.

“what the fuck you a nerd lover now?” Jackson said in a drunken slur and turned and walked away trying to take her with him as she slapped his hand away from her.

“Stop it your drunk...again!” she yelled at him and pushed him watching him stagger backwards almost falling as he caught himself and turned looking to her.

“Screw you bitch!” he yelled at the top of his lungs and walked back to the team.

Jennifer turned and apologized for their behavior and shook her head. “I’m sorry about that, egos and booze doesn’t mix ever. I’m Jennifer and I think we’re in a class together or maybe in a few.”

Out of no where the smoke grew heavy and she figured they probably tossed a tire into it as it smelt like burning rubber and she started to choke and cough. “I-I need to get away from here, I’m sorry again..” she turned and walked behind the cars out of the black smoke and down to the opposite side the fire away from everyone and walked along the waters edge just looking at the sky, noting how bright the moon was and the stars enjoying it without Jackson about. She hated when he drank he was an asshole, and he needed to check his ego as it was growing bigger than big these days.

She had no clue what she was going to do, she knew what her family expected from her and so did his. She sighed softly and stopped looking back over her shoulder seeing how far she walked and how small they looked and the fire.

One jock was bad enough, but with Jackson adding fuel to the fire this situation was going to go from bad to worse. Sam moved his hand to the handle of his driver's side door. Then out of nowhere came her voice. Jennifer came running after her dumbass boyfriend and his buddy.

“Leave the guy alone he came here and he’s allowed to be here like the rest of us, hell some of these people here don’t even go to our school so shit just back off the guy!” she cried stepping between them. Sam couldn't keep his eyes of her, she was so goregous it should be a crime. Maybe it was in some fucked up country like Iraq.

The jocks didn't not like Jennifer coming to his defense and they began to spit insults at her. She yelled and smacked her palm against JAckson's chest, calling him names that made Sam smile. He covered his mouth with his hand so they wouldn't happen to see him grinning at Jennifer's insults at their expense.

Jackson called her a nerd lover and said. "I need a fucking drink. You can stay here and be a bitch that doesn't put out. I can get anyone I want Jennifer. Come on Derek." He spun back toward the beach with his buddy in tow.

Once they were gone Jennifer spun toward him and gave him a smile that melted his heart. Was the spell working? Sam wondered, if it was maybe she would stay and talk to him. "I’m sorry about that, egos and booze doesn’t mix ever. I’m Jennifer and I think we’re in a class together or maybe in a few.”
She told him, which alone made Sam nearly burst with excitement. Those were Jennifer's first words to him....ever.

Sam took a deep breath and played it cool. "Uh, no problem." He chuckled dispite himself.

There was a cry of joy from the beach and the bon fire began pumping smoke into the air. The dumbasses on the beach had thrown an old tire into the fire causing black smoke to cloud the beach. Jennifer and Sam both coughed almost in sync.

“I-I need to get away from here, I’m sorry again.." She said and moved through the parking lot.

Sam stood coughing for a moment confused as to why she ran away. Wouldn't the spell make her want a ride from him in his car? Maybe she wasn't under the effect of the spell. Perhaps she was just growing to realize that the her life was only pretty on the surface and really the people she was friends with were stupid and shallow.

No that couldn't be it. It was definately his spell. Maybe it was just not yet in affect.

He turned and squinted through the smoke looking for where Jennifer had gone. He might never again get another chance to speak with her alone like this. Sam needed to use this chance to get her interested in him. Since his spell was obviously a crock of shit, maybe he could become friends with her the normal way.

This was his chance, his moment.

He ran after her, his feet kicking up sand as he chased her. "Hey Jennifer!" He called after her. She paused and turned back toward him. He smiled when he reached her slightly out of breath. "Hey, I uh.." He froze. Suddenly he had no idea what the fuck he was going to say to her. "Look I uh, I know you don't know me well and I am not the type of guy you usually are seen with. But I dunno, maybe it could be fun if you umm..." He sighed. "Fuck it. I'm sorry to bother you I'm just fooling myself." His shoulders slumped and her turned back toward the parking lot.

“Hey Jennifer!” she turned her head hearing her name being called out, well more shouted out than called out. Stopping she could see the guy she defended just a few ago running towards her. She had introduced herself to him but he never said his name. She stood there as she listened to the water rush over the cement barrier close by her.

Years before she was even born, in fact back when her mother ad father were young the town dug the lake and then they added mounds of sand around it on the one side so people mainly pre-teens and teens had a place to go and swim and basically hang out. The bon fire was one tradition that carried on over the years, the first game played no matter win or lose the team, cheerleaders and those that attended the high school came here and gathered drinking and whatever else afterwards. They won the first game of the season so everyone was all hyped up and drunk or stoned and it really wasn’t her crowd at that time. She wasn’t innocent but she wasn’t stupid either.

Where they lived it reminded her of the Stepford wives/families, where everything seemed perfect on the outside but underneath it all it wasn’t it was very dysfunctional. The rich owned the town and everyone knew it, the kids did things that were illegal and got away with it feeling untouchable and the parents well they usually were working, tossing a big party or cruising around the world on vacation letting hired help tend to the wild children.

For some reason as Jennifer grew older she grew up knowing that one day things would change and the neighborhood/town as she and they knew it would do a 360 right before their eyes. This wasn’t the real world this was one teeny tiny corner stone of it and she knew once she went away to college it wouldn’t be anything like it was back here at home, where when she looked around at her friends they seemed to think the rest of the world was just like this where if they got caught with beer or anything illegal they would receive a warning and a slap on the wrists, she knew that wasn’t the case and she couldn’t convince many others of the same.

Jennifer gazed up towards the moon that settled low I the night sky, she sighed softly and exhaled and never realized that Sam had reached her till he spoke out to her. “Hey, I uh...Look… I uh, I know you don't know me well and I am not the type of guy you usually are seen with. But I dunno, maybe it could be fun if you umm...Fuck it. I'm sorry to bother you I'm just fooling myself." Jennifer chuckled softly and smiled as he tripped over his words as he tried to speak to her.

“Listen, I don’t know your name but…you need to relax your stuttering.” Jennifer said in a soft tone, a tone that he wouldn’t be used to since she was always ignoring him and she was sure he only seen the side of her that shown around her friends and even family. He was right he wasn’t the type of guy she hung with or was seen with, and that kind of hit her hard. There was something about him she liked and she couldn’t figure out what it was as she studied him for a few moments.

His posture changed as his shoulders dropped and he turned and began to head back to the parking area near the bon fire. “Hey, I still don’t know your name yet…so I guess I’ll call you hey you till you tell me…” she smiled as she watched his head turn around and look to her as he stopped in his tracks.

“You’re not bothering me, and I could use the company if you wish to walk down further along the lake with me. If I go back there now the smoke will make my asthma act up and it hasn’t in over a year and I don’t want that to happen tonight I don’t have anything for it with me.”

Jennifer stood there looking at him, this time she wasn’t really the cheer squad captain but more a softer almost innocent little girl that shuffled her feet in the placed sand with wisps of hair flying across her face with the help of the slow moving breeze that was once warm and as the night sets in one hundred percent it was changing to being chilly. “Coming hey you?” she asked with a girlish giggle.

Sam gasped when she smiled at him. It was the kind of smile that just said, "you're stupid babbling is kind of cute." He Put his fingers to his lips and took a deep breath, trying to get himself calm. Embarassed he turned and started to walk away. His opening impression had been horrible. Where was the reset button.

“Hey, I still don’t know your name yet…so I guess I’ll call you hey you till you tell me…” she smiled as she watched his head turn around and look to her as he stopped in his tracks.

Her voice caught him by surprise and he spun toward her again. He couldn't believe she made a joke with him. A joke that wasn't an insult for a change. He gave Jennifer an encouraging smile and opened his mouth to speak, but his throat only came out with an empty breath. His eyes widened as panic began to fill him. He was not about to fucking spaz out when Jennifer finally talks to him.

“You’re not bothering me, and I could use the company if you wish to walk down further along the lake with me. If I go back there now the smoke will make my asthma act up and it hasn’t in over a year and I don’t want that to happen tonight I don’t have anything for it with me.”

He let out a sigh of relief and slumped. He smiled at her and watched her turn away.

“Coming hey you?” she asked with a girlish giggle.

He grinned and said, "I'm Sam, I uh, I'd love to walk with you." He fell into step beside her and they walked for a while in silence. Sam had dreamed of this moment for a long time. Although mostly when he pictured it, Jennifer was naked, but this was close enough.

He glance over at her but tried to keep in casual. Her raven hair glinted in the moonlight her skin flawless and smooth. She was such and incredible beauty that the fact that he was walking with her was wonderful.

Sam found himself thinking about the spell and he glanced at her again. Was she being nice because of the spell, or was it something else. He had a hard time believeing that his spell would be the cause of Jennifer's sudden kindness to him. His spell was to make her love him, but be nice to him.

"So umm. I have to ask you Jennifer, but why are you still dating that jackass?" He asked her. "I mean I'm sure he's nice to you and all, but to the rest of the world he's a prick. I was just...." Jennifer's face had stiffened and Sam frowned. "Forget it, I'm sorry I asked. I didn't mean to upset you. I was just...trying to make conversation." The last part trailed off as he felt more and more embarrassed about his question.

She slowed to a stop and Sam took about five steps in front of her before he realized that she had paused. He turned back to her and saw her looking at him. Not just looking in his direction, but really LOOKING at him as if she were trying to analyze him.

"You ok?" He asked.

"I'm Sam, I uh, I'd love to walk with you." He spoke as he stepped aside her and walked at her pace, their stride the same as she looked down for a bit and then upwards watching ahead of her feeling him glancing to her now and then. Every now and then she kind of added a skip to her step making her breasts bounced around upon her chest just relaxing and being herself, not the stuck-up cheerleader, not the rich silver spoon mouthed bitch from the right side of the tracks but just Jennifer a simple female with big dreams and even a bigger appetite for life, a side of her nobody ever seen up till then but Sam and he had no idea about it.

She wasn’t the wild bitchy cougar with claws that would scratch your eyes out if you looked to her but just a simple girl trying to decide her fate of her own future. A side hidden away except for when she was able to escape to her own little world of just her and anything she wished to be included in it, yet outside it she was the total opposite something she had to keep up to fit in to her social status, one she was born into.

The silence gave her the time to just think and collect her thoughts as she walked along side Sam, a guy she really wouldn’t have associated with ever till now, she had no idea really what came over her but she felt comfortable and relaxed around him immediately and that’s never happened ever. Jennifer wouldn’t have ever stepped into the middle of things when it came to the team, Jackson and the squad, she just went with the flow but she did and she had no idea if she really screwed up or not but that wasn’t important at the moment and she needed to push those thoughts from her head and just enjoy the evening, or at least what was left of it.

"So umm. I have to ask you Jennifer, but why are you still dating that jackass?" He asked her. "I mean I'm sure he's nice to you and all, but to the rest of the world he's a prick. I was just...." He said to her finally breaking the silence between them both as her facial expression changed as she stopped walking and glanced over to him with a question that caught her off guard lingering between them unanswered, and really she wasn’t sure he’d understand when she tried to explain it….she had no clue about him or where he came from, his background or anything and she sighed.

"Forget it, I'm sorry I asked. I didn't mean to upset you. I was just...trying to make conversation." He continued saying as he spoke on then clammed up as she could see the look of embarrassment upon his face. Jennifer had stopped walking and she thought about what he asked again and watched as he walked onwards past her and then he turned looking at her as she really took an honest hard look at him for the first time.

“You okay?” He asked her…as she stood there looking almost dumbfounded.

Jennifer nodded her head in a yes fashion, “I’m okay…I just am really not sure how to explain that answer to you. Please don’t take this wrong but I’m I don’t know anything about you or you me so it might sound really bad or embarrassing…” she stopped there ad looked around.

Pointing to the red wood bridge that went over a small waterfall and from one side of the lake to the other, “let’s go over there and sit if you don’t mind…” and with that out there she turned to the right and walked towards the bridge where she went up on it and then sat down on the edge and tossed her legs over the side letting them dangle down and folded her arms on the middle rail and rested her chin upon her hands.

“My family isn’t poor, my parents have always worked hard for what we have, don’t get me wrong some of it was inherited through my grandparents passing on my father’s side but the rest they worked hard for.” Jennifer felt as if she needed to defend her family first in order to explain it all to him. She sighed softly and continued to talk as she watched the moonlight dance upon the slow rippling water under them.

“Anyways, my family and Jackson’s have been doing business together for years, they were close friends through high school and even before Jackson and I were even thought of I was told our parents always said their kids would marry, each couple only wanting one and they got lucky when they had a boy and girl and that worked to their favor, they got what they wanted. So all growing up Jackson and I were programmed that we would grow up and marry like an arranged marriage and that was that we just fell into a routine thinking this was what the families wanted so we did it to keep happiness and all that stuff that goes with it.”

In a way telling it all to Sam a stranger felt like another big relief off her chest a she sighed and turned her head looking to Sam. “I’m supposed to follow in one of my parent’s foot steps, and go to college for what they pick not for what I want or wish to do with my life. I don’t want to be a lawyer or do what my mother does, in honesty I have my own dreams and I’m really not sure what Jackson wants to do other then spend money, act like an immature guy and drink with his buddies from the team forever….it’s not what I want.”

Once he opened her up Jennifer couldn’t stop talking, he opened a can of worms, telling him things she’d have never told anyone not even her closest friends. “I have dreams of getting out of here; this whole ‘Stepford’ town isn’t where I want to remain for the rest of my life. I want to go to the big cities and I want to travel the world and do things, see things…one day I want to marry the man I choose and be a wife and mother but not right now, I need to get through school and college then decide….”

Jennifer stopped there and looked to him as she turned her head to the side resting her cheek upon her hands….”life can be unsettling and real lonely sometimes even with those living in glass houses.” She closed up and just starred back down into the water and knew she said too much, and there was no way to take it back…but she couldn’t help it something came over her. This might be a one time thing between them…so it didn’t matter really she may not even speak to him again…neither knew what would come after this night once they parted.

Not even looking at him she spoke again, “tell me about you Sam…”

Sam listened to her story with interest. He had no idea Jennifer was such a deep person. She had a smart and rational view of the world that she kept hidden because she felt that people didn't want that from her. Sam didn't like the fact that she stuck herself with Jackson simply because her parents wanted her too. Hell, this was 2009 not 1809, she had to right to find her own love, her own path in life.

"So you stay with Jackson because you don't want to upst your parents?" He asked suggestively. Jennifer sighed and nodded, continuing her story. He listened again until she finished.

For a long while they sat in silence on the bridge looking out over the water and the moonlight which had receieved a unique shade fromt eh bon fire smoke. All in all it was a beautiful night. Sam took a deep breath, Jennifer was so close to him he could touch her, her scented perfume filled his nose with a smell of undiscribable delight.

Not even looking at him she spoke again, “tell me about you Sam…” she said looking up at the moon.

Sam shrugged, "I wish there was something to tell. I've always wanted more from my life, my family isn't poor exactly but we go without many luxuries that most other people have. I decided very early that I would be a good student, get good grades, get a good job. Unfortunately, that life style left me very lonely."

He sighed and shook his head. "I see you at school...no scratch that. I see guys like Jackson. Big, dumb, but popular as hell. I never understood how a guy like him could have so many friends and date the most beautiful woman on Earth." He paused. "I guess guys like me will never have many friends or date goregous women. My only consolation is that they say when guys like me get older we get all the stuff that the jocks get only better."

Sam glanced over at her, her eyes lost in the movements of the water. "In the meantime though, it's an extremely lonely life. My only friend is afraid of going outside. He's got Agoraphobia or something."

He chuckled, "It's amazing though right? You and I. The two of us have completely opposite lives and yet here we are sitting on a bridge together."

"Listen Jennifer," He shifted his body and turned toward her. "I think you should worry less about making your parents happy. It's your life to live after all and if you don't want to be with Jackson then you shouldn't. Do what and be with who you want to, because if you don't your going to end up stuck in a life you hate and I'd hate to see you unhappy."

"So you stay with Jackson because you don't want to upset your parents?" she nodded and continued trying to explain to him about her life rambling on and on for the first time to anyone. Then the silence broke as they sat there together for the first time on the bridge as she asked him to talk about himself, she was actually genuinely interested in hearing about him.

"I wish there was something to tell. I've always wanted more from my life, my family isn't poor exactly but we go without many luxuries that most other people have. I decided very early that I would be a good student, get good grades, and get a good job. Unfortunately, that life style left me very lonely." Sam said as she listening to him intently enjoying his company.

“I can understand that….really I can. A person can be surrounded by friends or associates as they may be...” her eyes lifting and looking down towards the bon fire then to the moon…”and family and yet you can still be the loneliest person in the world.” She sighed softly and left him continue.

"I see you at school...no scratch that. I see guys like Jackson. Big, dumb, but popular as hell. I never understood how a guy like him could have so many friends and date the most beautiful woman on Earth. I guess guys like me will never have many friends or date gorgeous women. My only consolation is that they say when guys like me get older we get all the stuff that the jocks get only better." He said continuing as she turned her head and rested her cheek on her folded arms looking to him.

“Again you can be surrounded by many and they are from being your friends…its called pretending…illusions.” Jennifer said and sighed softly the said no more as she let Sam continue.

"In the meantime though, it's an extremely lonely life. My only friend is afraid of going outside. He's got Agoraphobia or something."

Hearing that she lifted her head and looked at him funny “I couldn’t ever imagine being stuck inside my house never going out into the sunshine or even feeling a fall breeze on my face or…or...playing in the snow…I’d miss so many things if I couldn’t be outside.”

Jennifer listened to him chuckle and she smiled, his light laugh was pleasant, it wasn’t anything that was loud, so loud to catch attention and be the center of attraction. "It's amazing though right? You and I… The two of us have completely opposite lives and yet here we are sitting on a bridge together." Before she could say anything he continued on… "Listen Jennifer, I think you should worry less about making your parents happy. It's your life to live after all and if you don't want to be with Jackson then you shouldn't. Do what and be with whom you want to, because if you don't your going to end up stuck in a life you hate and I'd hate to see you unhappy."

She turned her head and looked to the water again as it rippled over the rocks as the moonlight danced upon the surface of the water as she thought for a few moments about what he said and she knew he wouldn’t understand how it worked with those like her ad her family ad the pressure and stress, the strain it can bring, its like when you first feel the bit of peer pressure as a kid in junior high. She could feel the weight on her chest twenty-four seven and seven days a week, even if he were right in what he said it just didn’t work that way.

“Sam it really isn’t that easy, I wish it was but everything is mapped out for me whether I like it or not that’s just the way it is for me. Maybe if I had other siblings they could have changed the course of things for me, provided they were older but I don’t… its me and me only to carry on my family’s name. I don’t like disappointing people because I hate people disappointing me…” she stopped there and sighed softly and then got up and walked off the bridge to the other side of it opposite the bon fire and the others still there which she had no clue who was still about and who wasn’t.

Jennifer stopped at the edge of the lake and washed the water of her bare foot as she moved it back and forth feeling the warmth wash over her skin. She tugged up her top and then removed her shorts and kicked them both aside as she waded into the dark waters of the lake. That end was about five feet deep in the deep pool there where she reached the ledge and dove in under the surface and then slowly submerged like a mermaid would.

Her eyes were closed, her hair was slicked back and her head slowly came up from the surface with her body partially following. The moon caused her skin and the surface of water around her to shimmer as she stood there trying to keep her head above water knowing she only had a few inches to do so. Jennifer wasn’t tall she was a mere five foot four and four inches isn’t a lot when the waters five feet deep.

Turning she looked for Sam and when she had him in her sights she smiled, “I love swimming…warm water late at night in the darkness and the moonlight being your own lighting…its romantic….soothing…’

When Jennifer's arms moved to pull her top off, Sam gasped and quickly looked away. He didn't want her to think of him as some pervert staring at her body. Of course Jennifer had planned for the trip to the beach and underneath her clothes she had on cute little two-piece bathing suit.

Sam waiting a second before risking a glance back at Jennifer. He caught her as she pulled her shorts down, and the perfection of her ass was in full view for him. His eyes went wide as she watched her step out of her shorts. He didn't know if she was doing it on purpose, or if her every movement was simply that sexy. She brushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear before stepping slowly into the water.

The way her hips swayed as they sank beneath the water, and the way the water seemed to part for her goddess-like figure than actually engulf her was just more than Sam could handle. His mouth hung open and his throat was dry. The idea of his spell having any effect was completely out of his mind. It hadn't shown any signs of her actually leaving Jackson for him, and despite her being nice to him it meant nothing for the spell.

He stepped closer to the edge of the water as Jennifer disappeared beneath the surface. In the darkness he couldn't see her beneath the water, only the ripples on the surface of where she was. He kicked off his sandals and dipped a toe into the water to test the temperature, it was warm like a cool bath just like it should be this time of year. He thought about joining Jennifer in her swim but he didn't bring a bathing suit and he didn't want to get in without her permission. Besides it would be embarrassing for her to see him in his briefs. He hadn't thought he would be swimming tonight so he didn't think to bring a bathing suit. All he wanted to do was talk to Jennifer.

Now he had been able to talk to her and then some. He saw the water begin to bubble as she came to the surface. Quickly he sat down on the edge of the water. Jennifer popped up her hair clinging to the back of her head, Sam wanted to lick his lips as he watched her.

Jennifer spun around until she spotted him and smiled. “I love swimming…warm water late at night in the darkness and the moonlight being your own lighting…its romantic….soothing…"

Sam just nodded. "Soothing yeah, romantic." He said his voice as if hypnotized.

Jennifer giggled at him, clearly the poor boy had never been in a situation like this and it was cute to see him like this. “Are you going to climb in?” She asked treading water as she stayed a float.

Sam’s face blushed, but in the moonlight it would be hard to see thankfully. “I uh, I can’t.” He stammered. “I don’t have a suit.” he explained quickly. He wanted to swim with her though, his mind thought of the things he could get away with.

While under the cover of the water he could swim by her and maybe brush his hand across her breast. Or maybe he could touch her firm and wonderful ass. Of course he’d play it off as an accident and swim away quickly as if he had no interest in touching her body. It could be the perfect crime, well maybe not. Jennifer was smart after all, she would probably see through any game like that. Then she would get mad at him and he’d have blown his chance to be with her.

Jennifer raised an eyebrow at him and pushed herself through the water. “Just jump in, in your boxers. I promise not to peek Sam.”

She turned away from him and dove under the water again, giving Sam the chance to get undressed and into the water before she saw his underwear. He probably would not have minded if he wore boxers, but he had on a pair of those horribly unattractive with briefs that clung to everything snugly. When wet she would see him pretty much naked as the briefs would be extra clingy and a bit see-through.

Nothing would ever happen for him if he never took a risk though so he yanked his shirt off and quickly tugged his shorts down. As Jennifer popped up in the water again Sam jumped in, the splash big enough to rain down on her head. The water was warm enough not to cause shivers but cool enough to be refreshing in the late fall night. He came up with a gasp of air and spun around trying to find Jennifer.

She was floating a few feet away watching him with a smirk on her face. “I didn’t see anything,” she said raising her hand. “I promise.”

Sam smiled and floated around her in an orbital pattern. “So Jennifer let me ask you something.” This was it, the moment of truth. If his spell had worked she would answer, if not she would probably make some excuse to leave and he’d be left with wet underwear. He opened his mouth to ask her if he would ever stand a chance at getting to kiss her, but he shut his mouth.

Why should he ask her that now? All it would do was ruin any progress he had made with he so far. If she wasn’t under his spell then this was an event he could ruin completely by asking her something she wouldn’t be comfortable in answering. He decided to clamp his mouth shut and instead, dip under the water.

When he popped up Jennifer had switched and was now circling him. “Ask me what?”

Sam shrugged and shook his head. “No nothing. It was a stupid thought.”

She flicked water at him. “Ok now you have to tell me.”

“I was just wondering if, well you seem like you need to get any from Jackson sometimes and I uh, would like to take you to a movie or something.” He added, “Just like as friends, so that you’d have company for when you wanted to get any. I know from firsthand experience that being alone sucks.”

"Soothing yeah, romantic." Sam said as he looked to her trying not to the whole time but she knew he watched her while she undressed she caught him from the corner of her eye ad yet she felt fine with it, it wasn’t like a dog in heat stare but maybe curious more as to what she looked like outside of clothing which she knew was a male thing, it was in their genes and then again in their jeans. Jennifer had a feeling that from what he said and the situation at hand that he’d never been swimming late at night with anyone or stripped down with a female and that made her giggle like a school girl.

“Are you going to climb in?” Jennifer asked him as she moved about upon the surface floating in her red and white checkered bikini looking like a country girl.

“I don’t have a suit.” Sam said to her as she giggled again and swam about the dark surface of the water treading slowly.

“Just jump in, in your boxers. I promise not to peek Sam,” Jennifer called out in a soft voice, a low tone mainly just for him to hear as she turned over and stayed above water from her shoulders up and looked to him and then turned and dove under the water once more letting him watch as her barely covered ass came up into view and then her toned legs and feet followed and like the rest of her it they disappeared leaving nothing but rippling water behind.

Just as she surfaced again she felt a huge wave of water come towards her and the splashing drops drop down around her as she laughed out and tilted her head back feeling the droplets fall upon her face and upper chest. “I didn’t see anything,” Jennifer said to him as she raised her hand like a girl scout “I promise.”

He swam around her as they moved about each other like two planets one orbiting the other as they smiled within the moonlight. Jennifer forgot everything else, the whole day was a past memory as she laughed and just had fun with him. “So Jennifer let me ask you something.”

She watched him and when his head came up from the water she looked at him and circled him this time swapping out like two animals circling each other for who knows what reasons…”ask me what?”

“No nothing. It was a stupid thought.” He said after shaking his head.

“Ok now you have to tell me.” Jennifer said as she formed her hands into scoops and then splashed him over and over with water. “You must ask me I hate that when people do that to me…ask!” She splashed him again and laughed as they circled again.

“I was just wondering if, well you seem like you need to get any from Jackson sometimes and I uh, would like to take you to a movie or something.” Just like as friends, so that you’d have company for when you wanted to get any. I know from first hand experience that being alone sucks.”

Jennifer swam about him taking in what he was saying and laughed in a cute little way. She sunk under the water and didn’t surface till she was right up in front of him. Her breasts rubbed his upper thighs…his stomach…then his chest as her head surfaced and she floated there before him. Her nipples were hard and pressed against his chest as she nodded, “Sure we can do that. I haven’t been to a movie in years. I don’t… well can’t even recall the last movie I saw in a theater. We have the home theater set up and that’s where we gather maybe…”

She stopped talking and looked down the beach and saw somebody walking up along the edge on the opposite side and couldn’t tell who it was she quickly turned to Sam and sighed. “This could get ugly if it’s one the team and if it’s a squad girl it will be blabbed all over school and the team might take revenge so let’s get out of here.”

Quietly she ducked under the water and swam towards the side and came up as she carefully got out of the water and dressed and then turned and looked for Sam as she followed her. “I really had a nice night Sam, thank you for letting me talk freely and open up and you did the same. I really enjoyed getting to know you.” She leaned in and kissed his cheek as she got her shorts on and ran towards the bridge and crossed over it meeting the other person on the other side before Sam was noticed as she didn’t want any trouble for him.

Jennifer took one last look back as she smiled and waved then turned her head back around and walked along the beach with one the girls from the squad. She didn’t stick around, she loathed the drinkers and Jackson was one of them. Instead she got in her car and headed home not letting Jackson ruin the nicest evening she had in a long time. On the drive home she couldn’t get Sam out of her head….thoughts of him danced in her mind over and over making her smile more than she had in a very long time.

Jennifer was close, very close. Sam let out a short breath as she rose from under the water, popping tot eh surface nearly in his face. The graze of her breasts up his body had not gone unnoticed and she as she floated in front of him her mounds pressed lightly against his chest. She smiled at him, a look in her eye that Sam had never seen in a woman’s eye before. Perhaps she liked him more than she was letting on, or he was imagining things.

“Sure we can do that. I haven’t been to a movie in years. I don’t… well can’t even recall the last movie I saw in a theater. We have the home theater set up and that’s where we gather maybe…” She stopped talking and looked down the beach and saw somebody walking up along the edge on the opposite side and couldn’t tell who it was she quickly turned to Sam and sighed. “This could get ugly if it’s one the team and if it’s a squad girl it will be blabbed all over school and the team might take revenge so let’s get out of here.”

Sam followed her look and saw the shape of a person walking in their direction. He felt the irony of having a great night getting to know Jennifer, but old habits die hard and she didn’t want to be caught with him. Although Sam could understand how bad this would look on her, she being only in her bikini and he in his briefs. He made a mental note to go buy himself some boxers.

She used his chest to push herself away through the water and climbed back onto shore grabbing her clothes and yanking them on while wet. Sam moved quickly and yanked his pants on while she was pulling her top back on so that she wouldn’t see his now mostly see-through underwear and his partial erection.

Once dressed she spun toward him quickly and came over with a shy smile on her face, “I really had a nice night Sam, thank you for letting me talk freely and open up and you did the same. I really enjoyed getting to know you.” She leaned in and gave him a quick peck on the chick before turning to intercept the person heading across the bridge toward them.

Sam stood in quiet shock for a long time as he watched her disappear into the night with someone who she probably knew. His cheek still tingled where she had kissed him, and a slow smile spread across his face. It was working! His spell, it was working. Maybe the effects were slower than the witch lady at the shop had said. Either that or he had misunderstood her. Maybe it took a week for the spell to begin its effect and once it began the affection of Jennifer would be gradual. After all it would cause a lot of confusion if she was just suddenly madly in love with him.

He ran to his car as fast as he could trying to contain his excitement. Once within his car he screamed in happiness. His hands beat on the steering wheel and he shook in his seat. He couldn’t wait for tomorrow. On the way home Sam stopped at a ROSS before they closed and picked up some silk boxers to start wearing for Jennifer and headed home.

Over that weekend he realized that Jennifer didn’t have his number and he didn’t have hers so neither of them could try to hook up for that movie until information was traded at school on Monday. Sam didn’t care because he knew that things would only get better and better and as much as he wanted Jennifer he had to admit to himself that the anticipation could be nearly as fun. He dreamed of her each night picturing the joy of waking up with her beside him.

Monday came along and Sam trotted onto campus with a child-like eagerness to him. His eyes scanned the campus quickly searching for Jennifer, when he spotted her he halted in mid-step.

There she was, hanging on Jackson’s arm and laughing to something one of her cheerleading pals was saying. Sam felt a void open up in his stomach. What about all the shit she said about being irritated with Jackson and not really wanting to be with him? What about him? It was like nothing had changed and the fifteen minutes he had been part of her world was all he was going to get.

It couldn’t be, his spell had shown every sign of working last night.

He shook his head, maybe it was an act. It could be just an act right? She had to keep things looking normal to keep her parents off her back so that’s probably all it was.

He shifted his book bag onto his shoulder and headed to his first class. Jennifer would be there and Jackson wouldn’t, maybe there she would talk to him and he could be reassured that he was no longer completely invisible to her. He feared that more than anything else. Even if she wasn’t falling for him, he couldn’t go back to being fucking invisible to her. He needed at least that much, a hello when they passed in the hallway or something.

The first period teacher Mr. Polsky wasn’t there today, instead they had a young looking substitute. Sam used this chance to violate the seating chart and plop himself into the seat right behind where Jennifer saw.

Sunday morning was just like the normal everyday in Jennifer’s life, she wakes, and once again even though there are people in the house she still feels that alone feeling within. Making her way out of bed she wraps within a warm soft robe and walks down the stairs to the kitchen and before she even sets foot inside it she knows her parents will be sitting there drinking coffee and reading the paper. Her mother will be dressed in a tennis uniform and her father in his usual golf attire and just like she thought when she entered the dinning area there they sat dressed as she had in mind a normal routine.

Not even looking up from the paper she heard her mother speak out, “We’re having brunch with Jackson’s parents and we expect you to be there as well. Bunch will be at eleven, I expect you to make sure your there on time… Jackson will be attending also.”

“Don’t be a minute late young lady, we are counting on you. You know how Jackson’s parent’s hate tardiness and so do we….” Her father said as he continued speaking and to Jennifer it sounded like the schoolteacher on a Charlie Brown special that went ‘wak-wak-wak-wak’ when she spoke. Jennifer just learnt that it was easier to just agree with them and pretend she was listening as it went in one ear and out the other, feeling the stress and pressure they placed upon her day after day with Jackson, his family, college…she was getting to the point she felt as if she was going to have a melt down anytime in the near future.

“Yes daddy,” she replied knowing he hated her calling him that as he lifted his eyes over the business section of the Sunday paper and grumbled…”

“Jennifer you know I hate when you call me that, your eighteen years old and I want you to refer to me as Father not daddy like a five year old girl.” He said in a stern voice making sure he accentuated the word father precisely.

Jennifer turned to him and glared and in a sarcastic voice she spoke back, “Yes drill sergeant father,” she said as she poured herself a glass of juice and walked outside on the back stone balcony but not before hearing her mother clicking her tongue in disbelief and catching her comment.

“She can be so ungrateful sometimes, and I don’t know where she gets that from,” her mother said to her father.

“We spoiled her,” he replied.

Jennifer heard everything said as the conversation ended when she closed the glass French door behind her and settled on a chair on the patio. Frustration built within her as well as resentment, she could feel the tears building within but decided not to let them get the best of her, she wouldn’t cry, she wouldn’t let her emotions show like normal. She’s kept them hidden for to many years and they were not going to break her…

Pulling into the parking lot at the Wilshire country club she sat there looking at her watch. She had fifteen minutes to be there and sighed as she got out of her little red sports car and closed the door behind her. She wore a light summery white thin dress that showed each and every curve of her lithe form. Her heels were simple and added another five inches to her height as she sashayed through the front doors and was quickly ushered to the table were her family sat with Jackson’s. Jackson looked pale; a little green around the gills was more like it from being hung over from the past two days he had been drinking.

Brunch sucked, they spoke business and future plans for their kids and once again she heard the teacher speaking from a Charlie Brown special and sighed. Jackson pulled her aside and asked her where she’s been and just told him she wasn’t feeling well the past few nights. He rolled his eyes and just let a look of disgusts appear upon his face. He leaned in and whispered to her ear, “you gave it up in Vegas and now you need to keep it up or I’m telling my folks this agreement is off.”

Jennifer knew that if he did that it would kill her parent’s dreams, dreams they created with his family, plans mapped out since they were kids. “Sometime this week we’ll get together at my house when my parent’s go out like always,” she whispered back feeling the pressure.

The rest of the day Jennifer spent alone in the house while her parent’s did their thing and she did her homework, and finished a paper that was due Monday. She had always been a straight A student and never left anything interfere with her grades and her parent’s, his parent’s or Jackson himself wasn’t going to bring her to that point.

Monday morning Jennifer grabbed her books and stuffed them into her backpack, she made sure her paper was placed neatly between two thick books so it wouldn’t get ruined. She went through the normal weekly routine realizing how mundane her life was, all the routine, same shit day in and day out. She walked in and put on her false smile waving to ‘friends’ and then met up with Jackson at her locker where when she got done putting her books in her locker she slipped her arm through his and played the game where she was the happy content girlfriend of the star football player and all around them was the stage and audience.

She laughed when she was supposed to; she smiled when she needed to and beneath it all she frown only she could see and feel. Jennifer turned her head and watched as Sam walked by the group standing there but she didn’t see his face only catching the back of him, and the memories from their Friday night encounter which made her smile, really smile.

Jennifer looked down at her watch and then to Jackson, “I need to go Mr. Polsky will demerit me if I’m late.” She tried to get away without the kiss but wasn’t that lucky as she watched him lean into her and she reluctantly returned it and walked past him and waved to the group as she walked down the hall to her first class.

Dressed in tight hip hugger designer jeans with a black thong barely peeking from the back and a black tight sweater that covered down to her navel with a slightly low cut from she walked into the classroom. Today there was no clicking of heels, today she wore sneakers and dressed down not wearing her normal short skirt and crisp ironed shirt, today Jennifer felt plain and just wanted to be one of the crowd, wanting to fade in with the ‘wallflowers.’

She wasn’t ungrateful like her father said she just wanted to do her own thing for a change and she didn’t see that even becoming a thought with her future laid out for her the way her parent’s and Jackson’s had planned.

Walking to her normal seat she settled in and watched as the substitute came in and what she didn’t realize was that Sam had moved behind her in Brian Moyer’s normal seat. When role call came about with the substitute calling out everyone’s name and she said Sam’s that was when Jennifer realized he was sitting behind her when she heard his voice say ‘here.’

Jennifer turned her head and gave Sam a smile and even a wink then turned around again as her name was called. Once that was finished one the girls from the squad sitting aside her leaned over and whispered about her smiling at Sam…”ugh you switching from jock to geek squad girl? I hope not Jackson would cream the guy and you know your popularity would go down… might even be kicked from being squad captain...”

Before she could finish Jennifer leaned back over to her and she didn’t care who heard her and spoke back…”Listen you need to mind your own business not all of us walk around with our noses in the air and sticks up our asses like you do. There is nothing wrong with offering a friendly smile to a person and you know Danielle you might try it unless you think those eight layers of make-up would crack...” and Jennifer ended it there and started paying attention to the substitute feeling a weight lifted from her chest.

The rest of the day felt long and never ending. Jennifer decided to skip practice for the first time ever in her life since she’s been in cheerleading and just chose to drive around for a while and then she stopped out at the mall, not the normal one but one farther from home where she wouldn’t see anyone from school she hung with. For some reason the ‘old’ mall wasn’t the place to belike the new three story one.

Parking the car she got out and walked in and just window shopped stopping and checking out different things before she found a spot in a back corner with a book of Edgar Allen Poe works. at the food court where she sat picking at a dish of French fries smothered n cheese using her fingers to eat them while the world went around her making her feel like she jumped off and was taking a mini vacation from her life.

To Sam it seemed like Jennifer was having a bad day. She seemed tense and frustrated for some reason, although he wasn't sure if it was something that had happened over the weekend or perhaps something that happened at school. Either way Sam decided not to push her and during class, even though he sat right behind her, he kept quiet and let her go about her day without his interferance.

After school Sam noticed that he had a voice mail from his mother asking him to pick up something for her from JCpenny at the mall. His mother was the queen of putting stuff on lay away. With a sigh he deleted his messages and headed to his car.

Sitting behind the wheel he thought again about his night with Jennifer. It had been the highlight of his life in recent memory. She had looked incredible in her bikini under the moonlight and although he hadn't been able to see much he saw enough to let his mind fill in the blanks. Thinking of her Sam happened to look up and see Jennifer headed toward her car with Jackson in tow. Jennifer seemed distant from him and when she climbed into her car Jackson leaned in for a kiss, but was blown off as Jennifer threw the car in reverse and took off. Jackson was left standing in a very nearly empty parking lot with an upset look on his face.

Sam smiled and pulled out of the parking lot. He made a mental note to use any chance he got tomorrow to get Jennifer's phone number. That way he'd be free to invite her out to that movie and they could have another chance for some time together. Just being able to be around her had Sam on pins and needles. He wondered if his facination with her was heathly, he figured it probably wasn't but he'd already crossed over that line.

He drove to the mall and parked outside the JCpenny's to get his errand done. After he grabbed his mom's layaway item, which had turned out to be a new blender, he decided that since he was near the mall's food court he would grab a nice little after school lunch.

Sam went out to his car and dropped off the blender. Then doubled back around to the food court. The food court had meny choices as any typical mall fod court did. This mall did not have any commerical food stops though, there was a burger place but no McDonald's. All the places were just generic stops, good but generic.

He decided on a nice plate of Mongolian BBQ, a personal favorite of his. Sure it would spoil his dinner but he didn't care. The plate of beef, veggies and noodles, with a dash of sliced pineapple to top it off. The real problem with eating at the mall was finding a goddamn place to sit and actually enjoy your food.

His eyes stopped as he saw her sitting with a place of fries. Jennifer sat alone with a sinfully good plate of fried potatoes in front of her. Sam started toward her right away, but hesitated after a few steps. She had seemed unwanting of company all day at school, so he didn't want to just walk up and invade her space.

Then again this could be another chance to hang out with just the two of them. In the end that decided for him and he stepped over to her table. "They say eating alone is bad for your health, would you mind if I joined you?" He asked her with a smile.

He set his tray down across from her and sat. "I'll make it up to you by sharing my awesome BBQ." He added with a grin.

"Listen I saw you at school today and it looked like you didn't have the best day. Is there anything I can do to make it better?" He asked.

Jennifer was so engrossed in the book she was reading she forgot where she was until she heard the tray being placed on the table and a voice is heard. "They say eating alone is bad for your health, would you mind if I joined you?" Sam said with a big smile on his face. Jennifer looked to him and returned the smile, for some reason she was really happy to see him. "I'll make it up to you by sharing my awesome BBQ. Listen I saw you at school today and it looked like you didn't have the best day. Is there anything I can do to make it better?"

Jennifer smiled seeing him, “Oh hey there Sam, please have a seat I don’t mind if you join me.” In fact she was really glad to see him, there was something about him that Jennifer really liked but wasn’t exactly sure what it was. “I’ll pass on the BBQ , and as far as the day it just seemed to be long and never ending. Just you being here sitting with me makes it better Sam.” She had no idea where that came from but it was said and she felt her cheeks heat up slightly as she blushed.

Placing her book aside she crossed her legs and settled back into the corner of the table against the wall behind her filled with fake flowers that separated the food court from the rest of the mall walk area. “I come here to this mall when I don’t want to hang with the squad, it’s peaceful and there’s still something I enjoy about it over the chaos of the new triple floor one.”

Taking a fry she stuck it into a pile of BBQ that was on his paper plate and then ate it with a smile. “Now that’s good…so what are you doing here?” She asked him as she dog-eared her book and placed it inside her purse. “I never got a chance to thank you for the other night and the company; I had a really good time with you and thank you for sharing things about yourself with me.”

She did the same thing again with another fry and fed it to him watching him take it and before he had a chance to say anything she spoke up again, “Sam I have nothing planned for tonight so care to come over to my house and maybe watch a movie? I mean if you have plans it’s okay maybe another time.” Jennifer looked at him, there was really something about him she liked and the more time she spent around him the stronger it was felt. “Nobody’s home, and we can actually order out something or I can rummage something up in the kitchen.” She was hoping he had no plans as she looked to him with big eyes and a wide bright smile.
