The sun was low in the sky over the sleepy little suburb, home to many, the parents always warned their children not to venture in to the forest as the sun began to dip, that that was when the otherworldly come out of the forest to play, playing pranks on all the young girls and boys that didn’t run home on time, so needless to say the streets were bare thanks to that particular little lie on the parents part…. Only… it wasn’t that much of a lie…

Alice was a young girl of 18, in fact it was her birthday today, yet she sits alone in her backyard, a sad look on her face, why? Because her parents didn’t even notice it was her birthday, nobody remembered, no cards in the mail, nobody jumping out from behind couches and yelling surprise, just her, and her porch, and the tears she was fighting to keep inside, it wasn’t the first time this had happened, and even when they remember it wasn’t that great, nobody really did care about her that much…

But just as she was about to go inside, something moved in the forest that lay beyond the edge of the yard, something white and fuzzy, like the tail of a rabbit. So now Alice had two choices, go inside to a bleak dinner and a sad night, or go in to the forest and see what she finds.

Alice quickly decided that she was going to follow that bunny tail. She needed something to lift her spirits and spending the next hour listening to her step-father talk about how stupid she was wasn’t going to do that. Walking into the forest, she didn't think about the stories her parents had told her and her sister about going into the forest after dark. She was an adult now and she wanted to find that bunny.

She moved through the forest, looking for a glimpse of the white bunny she had seen. Running a hand through her blond hair, she sighed and came to a sudden stop deep in the forest. Too far for her to walk back home, she wasn't even sure which way home was. I thought I saw it come this way, she thought to herself as she bit her lower lip lightly and looked around. It was just like her to get lost when following something. She should have taken more time to think before she decided to follow the rabbit.

"Here bunny," Alice whispered softly as she looked around in search of the missing animal, "I'm not going to hurt you." It wasn't as if she knew that the bunny wasn't a real bunny, at least not the kind of bunny that most humans were used to.

Alice spotted the bunny tail once more, just before it went down a hole. Without a thought, she walked over to the hole and peered in. It was bigger than any rabbit hole she had ever seen. In fact, it was big enough for a human to fit in. The hole was pitch black and smelled like dirt. She wrinkled her nose at the dank smell and started to make her way down the hole. After only a few seconds, she felt like she was falling rather than crawling. What a strange little hole, she thought to herself as she continued to fall.

As Alice fell different objects began to appear around her. Bookshelves full of books, dressers slowly losing undergarments and other things, and even an empty jar of orange marmalade were falling with her. Soon came into view the "rabbit" she had been chasing except that this rabbit was about 5' 11" and was sitting at a desk attempting to fix a pocket watch. Plucking a screwdriver out of the air before it fell quickly by him he turned one final screw and closed up the watch proclaiming, "There! Maybe I'll finally be on time."

With this proclamation he looked up and noticed Alice. "Oh, my word. I'm so sorry." The rabbit man stood up out of his chair only to find he was still in midair. He attempted to bow to Alice, but only succeeded in doing a somersault showing up the white tail she had been chasing earlier. "My name is the White Rabbit," he said and he looked up to see as she would forgive him for not introducing himself earlier only to find he could see straight up her skirt as she was still a bit above him.

Alice watched the different objects that appeared out of thin air around her. It was almost too dark to make some of them out but that changed when a lamp appeared a few feet away from her. It was the voice that really confused her though. Looking around, she spotted the rabbit-man and frowned slightly. She'd never seen anything like him but she figured this was all something from her imagination. She was probably just asleep on the porch.

Laughing softly as he went into a tumble, she spotted his tail and clapped her hands slightly. "You're the bunny I was following!" she exclaimed in disbelief as she clutched at the edge of her skirt holding it down as she saw he was looking up her skirt at her lace panties. Seconds later, she hit the ground with a bone rattling thud on her bottom. Crying out in pain, she started to realize this might not be a dream like she'd originally thought.

"Yes ...," he said a bit confused by the response, "Forgive me for asking madame, but you aren't from around here, are you?" His cheeks were blushing slightly from being caught looking up her skirt. He really didn't want to be rude and he really wanted to see those lacy panties again, but that wasn't his place to decide and he was going to be late if he didn't go soon. He decided they could talk as they walked and began to make his way down the hallway, so would stop him if she needed.

"Where is here?" she asked as she stood up and brushed herself off. It took her a second before she noticed he was walking away. She trotted towards him, quickly catching up and adjusting her stride so she kept up with him. "I'm Alice by the way...I'm a little easily distracted, that's why I didn't introduce myself earlier." She couldn't help that her mind tended to wander like a child's at times.

"Here my dear, is Wonderland," the white rabbit told her. Alice kept up with him as he bounced down the hallway. "You'll find many of the people here are quite ... interesting," he told her carefully. "I'm not that interesting myself, I just have this problem ..." Damn, he had let it slip, now she would ask and he would be forced to tell her. He saw the door ahead of him and started heading towards it. "I am going to be late if I don't hurry," he told her in a rush. He was trying to get away, but fairly certain she would find out and stop him before he could.

"You have a problem..." she repeated. He was bouncing faster than she could move and he easily pulled away from her as he sped up, moving towards the door. She didn't even thing to ask about what the problem was, already her mind had turned to the fact that he said she was in Wonderland. "What do you mean I'm in Wonderland?" she asked as she followed him. Chances were he'd lose her completely once he went out the door, if she wasn't quick enough to follow.

"I mean what I say, Wonderland," he told her reaching the door. "It really is quite a nice place, but I suppose it all depends on the mood of the people. Oh, and do watch out for the chesire cat he can play such nasty tricks." With that the white rabbit disappeared behind the door and let it close behind him. He wiped sweat from and forehead and said to himself, "at least she won't be making me late," and bounded off towards his destination.

"But what's Wonderland?" she wondered out loud as she reached the door. The White Rabbit was already gone. Alice paused for a second before pushing the door open with a soft sigh. Who was the Chesire Cat and why did she need to say away from him? She didn't know but she was hoping that she wasn't getting ready to find out as she stepped out the door and looked around in surprise.

"No, no, no. It's not nearly big enough or grand enough... This is supposed to be to celebrate our Kingdom's Centenary. If you expect the queen to allow you to keep your heads your going to have to start all over again..."

It was just another day for the King of Hearts as he, once again found himself attempting to organise his subjects. Of course the artist in question wasn;t to know that the gift he was preparing was a surprise but if there was one thing he had learned threatening subjects with the queens temper was a good way to get jobs done properly. With a sigh he turned and strutted his way out of the private room, locking it behind him as he started to make his way back to his private chambers.

The Cheshire cat held his hand to his lips, already curled up in a huge grin as he suppressed a giggle, everyone seemed to warn people about him, like he was any worse than the rest of wonderland could be… well… he couldn’t really fault them for thinking that, after all, there was enough evidence, but it was still amusing.

The forest she had stepped out in to was thick, with light streaming down in some places where the canopy was thin, but where he was perched, it was like a little pool of blackest night, no light getting through the dense canopy above him.

“This is wonderland silly” he called out, drawing the girls attention “im wonderland, that silly little rabbit is wonderland, we’re all wonderland” he let loose in to a massive grin “and now so are you”

Alice looked up, startled at the sound of a voice coming from above. She peered into the darkness unable to spot the figure that went with the voice. And then he smiled...it was amazing that she could see it in the darkness that surrounded him. "I'm Alice...but I'm still confuserd on this Wonderland thing," She said as she continued to look up, trying to pick up more than the smile.

Jessy Cat watched from up in a tree. She hadn't payed much attention to the young woman's voice, but when she heard Chessy speak, her ears tuned in on the noises. She was hidden by many leaves, few would be able to see her if they didn't know where she already was. "Sweety" she called down, sure that the girl would have no idea where the sing-song voice was coming from. "What is there to be confused about, my dear? Surely you can look around and see that you are no longer where you have always been, yet you are in a place that exists and always has, despite your lack of knowledge of it."

"But of course!" came the voice, rising and falling as she sat at the long table decorated with rows of different sized tea cups and saucers, mismatched on the table. Cakes and biscuits were laid out and to Hatties left, sat a painted mannequin. It was dressed in a similar way as Hattie, a ruffle skirt, corset like top and top hat.

Hattie was bouncing in her seat, an ornate teapot in her hand as she poured a cup for herself and her company. She sipped her tea and spit it out through her front teeth. "My, this is horrrrrrrrrrrrible." she shook her head and got up, stepping up onto the table.

It was on a few moments before can can music filtered through the air, and Hattie began to kick the cups from the table with her high kicks.

Cheshire Cat’s grinning mouth opened to say something, but Jessy quickly cut him off, saying roughly what he was going to anyway “HEY!” his head snapped around to glare where he could smell her lurking “I was here FIRST!” Jessy and Cheshire often had fun together, but it was quite often preceded by some kind of pointless and nonsensical argument.

“Don’t listen to her” he ordered Alice “everything she says is a lie, except for when it is a lie, then it’s the truth, she’s opposite me and I was here first so she wasn’t!”

Alice could barely make sense of what was being said to her. It didn't help that she didn't know who was saying them to her. "But where...nevermind, I'm not going to get a straight answer from either of you," she said as she looked around still trying to make sense of everything. She took a few steps away from the door and frowned.

"Well our answers aren't round" Jessy replied, ignoring Chessy for the time being. "But" she said after a pause "I suppose they aren't straight either" she grinned and stretched before hopping down from the tree with the grace that only a cat could achieve. She landed on two feet, her knees bent, one hand touching the ground and the other in the air. She stood up and brushed herself off before moving to under where the Chesire Cat stood. "Now Chessy" she purred "You may have been here first. But I'm a female. And so is she. So I should be the one to help her out."

"Oh please" he jumped down, landing next to Jessy with every bit of grace as she had, one hand planted on his hip, the other quickly coming up to grab her right breast and roughly fondle the huge and (as much as he hated to admit it) attractive orb "Just because you both have a pair of these doesn’t mean you get to play with her first"

"How about no one gets to play with me?" Alice said. She could finally see them but it was just like rabbit man, she didn't think she was really seeing what she was seeing. She looked back and forth between the two of them. "Who are you people?" she demanded, ignoring the fact that the man was playing with the other girl's breast.

Jessy purred as he reached up to play with her breast, but she gathered her will power together and stepped back from him, obviously trying to make a point. "You know that if you want this," she moved her hand in a sweeping motion over her body "then you have to work for it dear Chessy." She then turned to look at the girl. "People? We're hardly people, my dear." Her tail swished into view as if to prove a point "In fact, most of us down here aren't people, and the ones that are, you don't especially want to know. Then again, it could be argued that you don't want to know those of us that aren't people either."

“like I’d want you” Cheshire snapped, crossing his arms when she moved back, he did, but wasnt going to say it any time soon “and speak for yourself, im people…. Sorta, just you know…” he tried to figure out where he was actually going with his argument, Jessy had a tendency to make him screw up when they argued “I just have better ears… and stuff… shut up!” He turned to Alice “I’m the Cheshire cat! Who are you?”

"Alice...and I was using the term people loosely. You're obvious part cat or something..." she said. Her head was starting to hurt from trying to understand these two...people. There was simply no better word to describe them at the moment. "So what is Wonderland?" she asked, praying that she'd get an answer she could understand.

"Oh we both know you want to" Jessy replied, purring loudly. She then turned to the woman. "I told you. This is Wonderland. There is nothing more to say about it. Where do you come from? What is the place you come from, more than a name? Wonderland is our home, and well named. A land of wonder indeed." She tilted her head. Why was this child insisting on asking what Wonderland was? She was in Wonderland. There was simply nothing more to it than that.

“that does pretty much cover it” Cheshire agreed with Jessy, his smile starting to return “Wonderland is wonderland, if we had a better way to name it, it wouldn’t be wonderland” he said, nodding knowingly “so stop asking, we clearly don’t have any better answers for you Alice” the little budding smile turned in to a grin “at least, we don’t have better free answers”

"Free answers are the only ones I'm worried out at the moment. Something tells me I'm not quite willing to pay your price," she told the male as she looked from one to the other. "Wonderland is Wonderland and Wonderlan is where I am. How did I get from my home to Wonderland?" She didn't know why she was trying to get answers out of these two, nothing they said actually helped. They both just talked in circles.
