Hockey Season is Nearly Upon us

Having given great thought to this, I just don't see how anyone will beat the Capitals this year.

I know you all will agree with me, or at least those of you hockey-literate will.

I'm sure all seven US hockey fans are already getting excited.

But why don't you think anyone will "be" the Capitals this year?

Are the players embarrassed to take the field? Umm...Ice thingie. Rink.

Oh, on topic: Clearly this is the year for the Columbus Blue Jackets, aided and abetted by top prospect Grant Clitsome. And no, I am not making that name up.

We got that part.

It's more along the lines of "how did it become sticky?"

Good call. 18 in lit years means "what high school do you go to?"

They have to be 21 for me to break out the woo'ing.

I tend to be much more attractive when women put the beer goggles on.

You definitely don't want to be around anybody that has a poster of Zack Efron on her ceiling.

CLEARLY you are going to spend another hockey season delusional.

I do think though that they have improved and this year shows some promise, but hardly their year.

I think the Caps do have potential to get to the final round this year. Let's hope the Sharks will quit choking in the play offs

My Bruins. Right or wrong. (OK. I don't like it when they go overboard.)

Red Wings picked up that cheap shot artist Bertuzzi. Not sure I like that.

i lost all respect for the wings w/ this pickup. I can care less how many years it has been, whether it was "deserving"...whatever...if you need to drive pile a dude into the ice with his back turned you are nothing but a shit pile and any team that has him is a pile by association.

Last year I thought the Sharks had the best team by far and they were humiliated. Picking up Heatley will only help their cause. That is the team I would bet on from the West. The East is always so problematical. The Bruins will be very strong. But I'm going to take a dark horse and go w/ the Flyers. They are building a team that is very agressive.

The move was so unlike the Wings. I had to read the bottom line on ESPN for 20 minutes just to make sure I read it right the first time. But I'm die hard, so whatever.

I think the Kings might surprise the league this year. They made some nice moves. But I fucking hate the Kings. Too bad it's my local team and I only go to Staples when the Wings are in town.

I know...it literally shocked me. Sad thing is he can be good in front of the net for garbage pickups and screening. I can easily see how he would be a great fit for the Wings. I just can't get over this

Ugh, can't click the link... I hated seeing that.

Holmstrom wasn't very productive last year, maybe the thug will step up the slop goal play.

The premise of this thread bespeaks an underlying lack of comprehension for the sport of hockey.
It is now the pre-season. That means hockey is upon us this very minute. Prior to this it was upon us in the free-agent signings...and in the entry draft...and in the trades.
There are hockey folk who follow it practically as closely in the off-season as in the regular season.

There have been some very weird team changes this year. I followed a little of the Blackhawks and the Bruins and am not sure how I feel about it,
