Both were dumb but Bewitched at least kinda sorta made sense because there were legitimate reasons for hiding her powers. Jeannie wanted to use hers all the time but that wimp would never let her for reasons that were never exactly clear other than he was a big pussy.

What legitimate reasons? And Darren wanted her to hide her powers too.

Bewitched. The supporting cast made the show IMO

Major Healy was great as the horn dog wing man.
Was pretty good as the wacky neighbor on Newhart as well.

She couldn't out herself as a witch. This was brought up many times in the series but they both at times did want her to use her powers for various reasons.
Jeannie had no problem being outed. She just didn't care or to be more truthful she was too stupid to care because let's face it, she was dumb as a bag of hammers. Maj. Nelson wouldn't let her because he was afraid of losing his job. No other reason. He could have the world but was afraid he'd get fired.

Sams family and the neighbors made for some decent comedy. The best Jeannie had was Maj. Healy and whatshisname that was out to get them.

Both good shows, but Bewitched was better.
My favorites were Aunt Clara and Dr. Bombay.

Jeannie could be ordered to get back into her bottle by her master......and she HAD to obey.
Fuck that.

Who did Paul Lynde play? He was always good for laugh.

You might have a point if he ever ordered her to do anything other than get back in her bottle. He never did. Nothing. Not just sexual things but everything. The guy could have had anything he wanted. All he had to do was say so but what did he tell her? Get back in the bottle, bitch.

And that what keep you coming back to the show. It was the hook of the show. You'd think one day he was finally going to make her fuck him and wish up some Ferrari's because you know she was totally down for that.
I know I would have used up all my wishes on blow jobs.

I think that might have been the 70's fashions near the end of the show throwing your radar off.
