Government Regulation Out of Control!
This is a First Amendment issue! I want the government out of my life! The nanny state gone berserk! Anti-business regulation once again attacks the nation!
Starting Tuesday, most robocalls — those annoying recorded sales pitches — will be banned, the Federal Trade Commission announced today.
Telemarketers must first get written permission that you want to receive such calls. Penalties can be up to $16,000 per call.

Did you, by any chance, happen to read the list of exceptions to the rule in your own link?
Politicians.
Surveys.
Banks.
Debt collectors.
Most charitable organizations.
Telephone carriers.
Utility companies.
Prescription refill notices and certain other health care messages.
"Informational" recordings such as flight cancellations, delivery notifications or school openings and closings. Tell me that list doesn't already account for 95% of the god damned calls to begin with.
Enjoy your new-found, Obama-enhanced phone privacy.

Some of those I want. However, the ones I receive on my cell wanting to fix my mortgage rate need to go.
The other thing I would really like stopped is the papers delivered at the door: I get all kinds of flyers that I have to recycle and I do not look at them...What a waste. One was left in a plastic bag on the middle of my front walk. A hazard! Maybe I should go outside, slip on it and then sue them for dumping their trash on my private walk!

It's the American way! Someone comes up with a good idea, then the lobbyists buy exemptions.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I want the right to ignore these useless and unnecessary calls on my own! I don't need the Government intruding into my life and making them obsolete!
They're taking away the jobs necessary to create these robotic, no-human-required systems that take away the humans that could fill in these positions in the first place!
Mother fucking muslim-socialist-marxist-COMMUNISTS!!!

Too bad the only way I get my right to privacy is through legislation...I pay for something and people think they have the right to abuse it. Damn.

Remember the good ol' days when if you couldn't get the good paying job with benefits that you went to school for because some rich elite brown-nosed his way into a position you were clearly more qualified than him for, you had to do your time in the trenches and schelp-whore yourself out at a telemarketer's office for lousy coins? That sucked major donkey balls to demean yourself and your parents' hard-earned-money-spent college diploma to do it, but it was the American Way!
Now these damn ROBOTS are taking away our lousy demeaning rote jobs! If killing Granny in those Death Panels isn't enough for them!
When is someone going to water the tree of Liberty once again?

Well let me tell you I'm not going to stand for the government takeover of my telephone! I've been stockpiling spam and shot gun shells just in case something like this happened. They are going to have to pry my robocalls from my cold dead hands.

Pissing off robots is never a good idea.
