I cannot join the Jedi Order
The words hung in the air.
Felix stood in the cell he had been assigned on his return to Coruscant after his last solo mission as a Padawan. He had faced the trials, and it was during the trials that his doubts about the Jedi code and various aspects of his training came to the surface. The human was stripping off his jedi robes, folding them and placing them on his bunk. Next to him stood Erillic, a Duros, and a friend that Felix had known since his infancy at the Jedi Academy.
"I don't understand Felix," the Duros said to the human, "are teachers all agree you are the most gifted and disciplined Jedi in Wookiee's generation. But you come back from your knighting ceremony, your Padawan braid intact and now you are stripping out of your ceremonial robes. Help me understand."
Felix stood in just his tunic, breeches and boots. He unclipped the lightsaber from his belt and tossed it on the bed. He turned to his blue skinned friend and said, "The Jedi order's philosophy is inconsistant. They tell us that only Sith deal in asolutes, yet that is an absolute statement. What are the masters trying to teach us, that they are actually Sith?"
Erillic scoffed at the comment. "Don't expect me to believe you refused your commission as a Jedi Knight over a sophistry."
Felix fixed his friend with a long stare before answering. "Its not a sophistry. Truth, good and evil, these are absolutes."
"Many of the truths we cling to in life, depend entirely..." Erillic started to say.
"Murder." Felix cut him off. "Does murder depend on your point of view or is it always wrong to take an innocent life?"
"What if it's vengeance? Is it wrong to avenge a fallen comrade?" Erillic posited.
Felix sighed at his friend. "There are plenty of circumstances were killing is justified and even more situations where killing may or may not be justified. I did specify killing an innocent, and I will go so far as to say that killing an innocent is absolutely evil, or wrong and there are no exceptions." Felix looked at his friend and smiled. "There, I have postulated an asolute truth, does that make me a Sith?"
"Well, no," Erillic replied.
Felix nodded. "Exactly. And that is not the only contradictory teaching. The idea that there is no emotion, there is peace, and no passion, only serenity is, well, contrary to the very nature of life. We are all creatures of passion. Yes, we should only make important decision when we are not swayed by emotion, but that doesn't mean we should be devoid of emotion. Passion is essential to life. Without love and compassion we become less then droids."
"Now you sound like a Sith," Erillic said.
Felix hook his head. "Or perhaps just one who has seen past his indoctrination, which I appreciate for what it taught me, but there is more to life and if you'll excuse me I am going out into the galaxy to find it."

I see a number of spelling mistakes I can't fix from my PDA. I'll get them corrected in a day or two.
Hello. I am Felix and I am looking for a co-writer of the female persuasion. Let me tell you a bit about what I have in mind and see if it interests you.
The story is set in the Star Wars universe a millenia or two after the events in Return of the Jedi. I am only using the six live-action movies as sources, not the comics, books, games or even the animated series. If you are interested in brining in something from the expanded universe, like ysalamiri, then you and I can evaluate it on a case-by-case basis.
My storyline for this is very bare-bones. Felix leaves the Jedi order and becomes a crewman for a female freighter captain, or possibly a bounty hunter. They have adventures and become lovers. As my co-writer we'll work out where they go from there.
Felix has left the Jedi order with nothing but the clothes on his back and the skills he learned. After he saves up enough money, he will build himself a new lightsaber. The skills he's learned are not inconsiderable. In the movies we see Jedi fly ships, repair them, ride beasts, fire blasters, and astrogate hyperspace. There are also his Jedi abilities, which Felix excelled at.
Felix is a young man, around the age of 18, with a trim body. He has been out in the galaxy before, doing missions as a Padawan. This will be the first time he's had to worry about money and food or other everyday conveniences.
If you're interested in the position of co-writer, shoot me a PM and we'll start brainstorming.

Felix looked down at the sandwich in his hands. He looked up at the Wookie standing behind the counter and growled out a poor thank you in Shyriiwook. The Wookie nodded. Felix put his food on his tray and went to sit down at one of the tables at the refugee station and began to eat.
He had left the Jedi two days ago without a datary to his name and just the clothes on his back. Felix hadn't done much better since then. It wasn't that he didn't have skills, or that he was unwilling to work, it was that growing up children learned a set of skills that allowed them to navigate in society. Felix's skills lended themselves toward servitude and being provided for. He could access the holonet and even do simple slicing and programming, but he never would consider looking for a job there. He didn't know about help wanted pages or career counselling centers because he never needed a career. Felix was a Jedi, skilled in every Jedi art his masters taught him, and disciplined enough to put aside his immediate desires to spend time mastering those skills. All he had ever wanted was to be a Jedi and even though he knew that dream would never be fulfilled.
He wasn't worried. As much as he dsagreed with the idea that peace should take the place of emotion, Felix was expert at controlling his emotions. He was assessing the situation. He listened to the other refugee's conversations and was gathering data. Soon he would know how to choose a career path and what he would need to get started in a career.
Above all else Felix was mindful of the living force. The force had lead him here. He would trust the force and see where he was lead.
Dinner ended with no one inviting him into their conversations. That was the way of it, and Felix was content. Sentients had their groups they were comfortable in. He wasn't here to cause problems but to gather information. Felix stood and bussed his tray. He was on his way out of the hall when he heard an explosion.
Felix reacted. He turned, running toward the explosion, reaching out with his senses and feeling everyone around him. There was a great deal of panic and one person was seriously wounded. It took a moment toassess the physical situation. It looked like one of the fryers had blown and there was a grease fire in the kitchen.
Staff was running out of the swinging double doors, Felix forced his way through against the crowd and got into the kitchen. It was bad, there seemed to be fire everywhere and the sprinkler system hadn't kicked in. Felix released a blast of telekinetic force energy, putting out the biggest parts of the fire.
He could feel the wounded person and moved to them. They looked pretty burnt. Felix pushed aside his fear and doubt and closed his eyes. Force healing wasn't his greatest ability, and even at its best it was second to a good bacta tank, but there wasn't a bacta tank around. He let the force flow through himself and into the burnt being, letting the force repair the damage between cells, and reinforce the sentient's own natural healing powers.
"You saved me."
Felix was pulled out of his trance at the words. He blinked his eyes open and looked down at the sentient. It was a Twi'lek. Felix wasn't sure if its skin was naturally orange/red or if that was a burn from the fire.
"Anyone else would have done the same," Felix replied.
The Twi'lek laughed once and then coughed. He took a moment co clear his thrat and said, "Obviously that's not true."
"Fair enough," Felix said with a smile, "Can you walk? We should probably get farther from the fire."
They moved to the main dining hall and talked for a bit as they waited for the emergency response teams to arrive. As the Twi'lek was eing lead into the ambulance he turned to Felix and said, "Listen. I work down at the space port, the Organa Spaceport. I'm a foreman for some dockworkers. It's just loading crates and supervising droids, but if you want a job its yours."
"Thank you my friend," Felix replied, "I'd be happy to accept."

Kyra
Organa Spaceport was in sight, and for once, Kyra could not wait to set down and get her cargo off. The last few days had been nightmarish, and not just because of late, attacks by smugglers and thieves had gone up considerably. Marcus, her crewsman and a man that she had formerly been close to, had finally shown his true colours. He no longer wanted to work for her, had told her so as they journeyed. She was not completely surprised. Marcus had been very loyal to her father, the former captain, but to her? Never.. This was not malicious; just the way he was.
Since his decision, and the subsequent brief argument, they had been in a stony silence, only broken when information needed to be passed between them. Now, however, with the spaceport so close, Marcus was the one to break the silence.
“This is not because you are not a good captain, you know. You’ve done really well, I cannot deny that. But..”
He could not seem to finish; so Kyra finished the sentence for him.
“You want to move on. It’s alright. I could hardly expect you to stay around when your primary partnership was with father.”
There was another, brief silence. Then..
“Will you be alright?”
His voice was low; worried. Kyra could not help but laugh slightly.
“I will be fine. I’ll find another crew somewhere, there’s bound to be someone requiring work or experience around.”
At that point, she opened the communication channel to gain authorization from Organa to set down
“This is freighter Astra, requesting authorization to set down and unload in Spaceport Organa.”
The response came in a low, grunting voice Kyra recognised as the Aqualish leader of the Spaceport. Authorised to land. She steered the vessel through the port doors that opened slowly, and set the vessel down. Once they had been locked into place, Marcus led the way out onto the landing ground. He stopped, turned to her.
“Be well. Keep your father and I informed, hear me?”
She resisted the temptation to respond with ‘yes, mother’, and instead shook the hand he offered her.
“I will. Safe journey.”
He offered a smile; then was gone. And for the first time since he had given her the ominous news, Kyra allowed herself a pang of forboding. Now what was she to do?

Several hours later, and Kyra was to be found finishing off the first proper meal she’d had since leaving the last spaceport. She did not tend to eat a lot whilst piloting, as despite being used to vessels, navigating hyperspace always made her just slightly nauseous. That, and the fact the recipient of the cargo had paid her handsomely this time, had made her ravenous.
Her mind had been continually slipping back to her problem of no longer having a crewman, not allowing her to try to relax or think it over properly. She did not really have time to put anything up in the help wanted ads, and didn’t know where to go to look for anyone that would want the job. Despite what she had told Marcus, she wasn’t exactly a pro at this.
The station she was in was pretty quiet now that dusk was settling in. Just a few pilots eating hurriedly before their next trip out, or civilians due to depart or leave. There was an idea, civilians weren’t hard to-
A shout of laughter from outside made her glance around over her shoulder, in time to spot a group of about 5 entering the station. All of them looked large and with more brawns then sense, but Kyra’s eyes were focused on the human in the lead. She knew that face..
His name, if her memory served her correctly, was Dawson, and she’d met him once before. He’d had different cronies then, but she knew he would be looking for exactly the same thing this time. Cargo and money. He had been at one of the smallest spaceports, bullying some of the least inexperienced pilots and some harassed civilians into handing over their goods. He had met his match with Marcus and Kyra though, having to back off to stop from being blasted off his damn feet.
This time though.. She was alone. And even though she was pretty skilled with her blaster and other weaponry, there was not much hope of her facing 5 of them and coming off well. She therefore slid out of her seat, subtly slipped her tray back to the Twi’lek behind the counter with a murmur of thanks, and headed for the door. She was not certain, but she thought she saw Dawson glance her way as she moved through the door, out into the street.
She took a calming breath, before beginning to walk again. She’d head straight for a place to sleep, then carry on with her search in the morning. Various civilians and troops were still around, and it was only once she moved through onto the back road she’d taken before that she found some quiet. Her eyes were beginning to itch with tiredness by now.
Two figures stepped out of a small side street towards the end of the street, and despite the dim light, she recognised them as two of those with Dawson. Her footsteps slowed for a second. They were glancing her way. She turned, aiming to head back to the main street but-
“Oh yeah, I thought I recognised you.”
Dawson was behind her, another of the group beside him. There was a nasty little smile on his lips. Kyra backed off, glaring, her fingers slipping down to the blaster beneath her jacket. Dawson stepped closer, and Kyra knew he was going to try to trap her. He spoke again.
“You shouldn’t be out on your own. Where’s the old man you had with you last time, hmm?”
“Nearby. I’m due to meet him, he’ll come looking.”
A little laugh came from the blue-skinned creature beside Dawson, and Kyra felt a pang of dread.
“Actually.. we saw him leaving earlier. Boarding a transport vessel as we arrived, probably half-way there by now. You’re on your own, little girl.”
Kyra felt a stab of fear and anger. The sound of a footstep right behind her made her look around, to find both the other cronies were getting close. She supposed that the last one was stopping anyone from the main street seeing; or helping.
She moved quickly, flinching away from all four, towards the dusty wall of the street, her blaster coming out of her holder and pointed straight at Dawson. Her hand was shaking slightly.
“Back off! Get away from me, I’ve shot you before and I will again.”
His cronies started back slightly, but Dawson didn’t move. He was grinning now.
“Actually.. last time you missed. Come on then, shoot me, let’s see how long you last.”

"Watch out!" the Wookiee roared in Shyriiwook. Felix was already in mid-leap, heeding the living force. The loader droid's repulsor lift failed and it came crashing down right where Felix had been standing less then a second ago.
One of the other Wookiees came up to Felix and slapped him on the shoulder. "You're lucky to be alive."
Felix whuffed and growled back, "In my experience there's no such thing as luck." All the Wookiees started laughing at that and Felix couldn't help but smile. The force was with him. Life was good.
"What in the seven Hutts of hell is going on here?" the foreman yelled in Basic as he flew closer. It wasn't the Bith who reccommended Felix for the job, but a Tydarian who was working overtime to cover the Bith's shift while he recovered in a bacta tank.
"The repulsor lift broke," one of the Wookiees whuffed in Shyriiwook.
"I can see that," the Tydarian snapped back in Basic, "How'd it happen?"
"Well, this is just a guess, but from the low pitched whine it was making I'd say the coil burnt out," Felix said in Basic, as he circled around the droid, examining it. He knelt down and opened the casing. A plume of brown smoke came out, followed quickly by the smell of burnt ozone. "Yeah definitely the coil. If you could get me a welding kit and some hydrospanners I could have this thing up and running in fifteen, twenty minutes."
The Tydarian rubbed his chin. "It's hard to tell you humans apart, but aren't you the homeless one? How do you know about repulsors?"
Felix had the casing opened more and was starting to rearrange wiring to be able to get at the coil. "I have recently left, well, I guess you could call it a religious order. One of the many things I did there was maintain repulsors. Yeah, this is an easy fix."
"I'll get you the tools." The Tydarian turned back to the Wookiees. "Get back to work."
After Felix finished repairing the droid he went back to moving crates with the Wookies. One of his missions as a padawan was on Kashyyyk. Felix had been there for nearly two months and had mastered the language. It was easier to fit in with Wookiees, their culture was based on honor and if you could speak Shyriiwook, and showed proper respect, you were quickly accepted into the group. It also helped that Felix could use the force to augment his own strength, allowing him to keep pace with the much stronger Wookies.
The day ended soon after the incident with the droid. Felix had to borrow dataries against his paycheck so he could eat that week. The Wookies had told him about some of the halfway houses nearby and after he ate Felix planned to go out looking for a place to stay. He would have to save up to get an apartment, but he wanted to meditate on that before he made a decision. He felt the force was leading him off planet, but he wasn't sure. That could just be his own desire.
Felix found himself at a diner in the spaceport. It wasn't a fancy place, there wasn't many fancy things at the Organa spaceport, but he felt the urge to go inside. Felix sat at the counter and asked the Twi'lek behind the counter for whatever he thought was best on a limited budget.
A girl sat down next to him. She was pensive and somewhat worried. Felix didn't know about what, and he wasn't planning on asking. Her emotions weren't particularly strong, so he didn't think anything was out of the ordinary. There were plenty of things to be worried about in the galaxy after all.
He got a very good look at her when she placed her order. She was very attractive, and he felt a need to say something but he didn't know what. Getting a girl's attention wasn't something Jedi needed to learn. Attraction was something he'd been taught to repress. There is no passion there is serenity. This was one of the reasons Felix had left the Jedi order. It took a conscious act not to detach himself from his feelings for this girl. Then his food arrived and he pushed his feelings away and ate.
Felix was chewing a particularly savory piece of rycrit meat when he felt them. Disgust. Hate. Anger. Some fear. He didn't need to turn around to know they were a gang of some sort, predators on the hunt for prey. This was a situation he'd faced many times before and he knew just what to do. Felix picked up his knife and ever so carefully he cut off another piece of meat. They hadn't done anything yet. He would know when they intended to and he would stop them. Until they did something though, he had no right to interfere. Not anymore. Not as a citizen.
There was a laugh. The girl sitting next to him turned to look. She had a sudden spike of fear. A face popped into her head and her feelings were so strong Felix couldn't help but see it. She slipped from her seat and left. Interesting.
One of the gang members had a burst of sadistic pleasure. He felt the gang start to leave. Felix put some dataries on the counter, thanked the Twi'lek and grabbed the rest of the rycrit steak, biting off a piece as he left the diner.
Felix ducked into an alley and forcejumped on top of a building. He followed the gang from above. No one ever looked up. They began to encircle the girl, moving out to cover different paths. Felix let them, waiting for the right moment to strike. He still held out hope that nothing would happen. It wasn't likely, but he still had hope.
The girl turned onto a back street and the trap was sprung. It only took a moment for the gang to position itself so all of her avenues of escape were cut off. They stepped out of the sidestreets and shadows. Felix felt their intentions and now was the time. He stretched out with the force and using his telekinesis he found their blasters. One by one he pushed in the magazine release. he didn't pull the mags out, he just released them. It was a subtle tactic. Their blasters were now empty and there was no way for them to know.
The girl drew her blaster. Felix could taste the fear overcoming her. She knew she was doomed and it was affecting her. She fired off a blaster bolt and it went wild. She was in no condition to fight. The gang knew that too and they advanced on her.
Without a moment's hesitation Felix jumped off the roof. He used the force to guide himself and landed on the leader's shoulders, knocking him to the ground, the impact against the duracrete street knocking him out. All eyes were on Felix now. He just smiled. If they were smart they would run.
It took a moment for them to recover, then the gang drew their blasters, their energy magazines dropping out, clattering to the floor almost in unison. Felix used that time to close with his nearesst opponent, a Shistavanen. Felix gave a force-assisted upward palm-strike to the wolf man's chin and the creature was lifted a few inches off his feet before he fell down backwards. Before the Shistavanen landed Felix had leapt toward his next opponent, a large Rodian. Felix's leap turned into a roll and he came out of it sweeping the Rodian's legs, knocking the creature over. Felix did an acrobatic, force-assisted flip while picking up the dropped energy magazine, catching the blaster the Rodian dropped, and re-inserting the mag in the blaster. His thumb found the switch that put the blaster on stun as Felix aimed it and stunned the last two gang members. It took a few seconds for the Rodian to recover. He sat up to see his own blaster being pointed at him. The Rodian scooted backwards, rolled over onto his belly, scrambled to his feet and ran.
Felix shrugged, used his thumb to put the blaster on safe, stuck it in his belt and turned to face the girl. "Are you alright?"

Kyra had frozen, her eyes on Dawson, her hands clenching on the blaster pointed at him, set to stun. She didn’t want to kill, just to get away from this filth. His eyes were on her, challenging her, knowing she was scared even as she tried to hide it. Then he took a step forward, and at once, Kyra reacted, pulling the trigger. But in her panic, the bolt went wide, hitting the wall behind him and causing a grin of triumph that made her shiver. He was closing the space between them fast and she was paralyzed, too fearful to react-
A movement from above, too fast for Kyra to follow, and suddenly Dawson was being knocked to the ground. His head hit the ground with a smack, and Kyra could tell he’d been knocked out. Her eyes came up to the man that had come seemingly from the rooftops. Dully, she recognised him from somewhere, but could not think where. She was stunned into stillness, as were the remaining members of the gang. Not for long though. They were drawing their blasters. A clatter made Kyra glance down quickly, to see the energy magazines hit the ground. Her mind whirled. But by then, the stranger before her was moving, and his strikes, his movements were fast, powerful.
Two more of the gang were down, and suddenly.. that could not have been humanly possible, that flip. Then both the remaining gang members were stunned. Kyra’s breath was coming in quick, frightened pants. What had just happened? It had all happened so fast..
The remaining large Rodian ran out of the side street, leaving them there with the stunned and knocked out gang members. The stranger now turned towards her, and despite the fact he had helped her, she took a slight backwards step.
”Are you alright?”
It took a moment for her to register what he had said, but then she nodded.
“Yes.. thank you, I thought I was finished.”
Her gaze moved towards Dawson, still knocked out on the floor. She put her blaster back onto safe with a thumb, but didn’t put it away yet, feeling frightened and unnerved.
“H.. how did you do that? There were five of them..” Her tone showed her slightly dazed and shocked condition, though she raised her eyes to meet his gaze steadily.

Felix returned her gaze with a small smile. He could feel the shock and fear she felt, and somewhere in there was gratitude waiting to come out. He felt the attraction come back too, stronger then in the diner. She was more beautiful in the soft glow of the street lights then she had been in the harsh lighting of the diner. If Felix hadn't been trained to let go of his emotions he would be having a very hard time not professing his undying affection for her. It was just a crush, a simple physical attrraction, enhanced by his young age and the excessive amount of hormones coursing through his body. Felix took a deep breath and centered himself.
In response to her question Felix shrugged. "I know how to defend myself. I," Felix paused, reaching out to get a better feel of the girl with the force. She seemed a genuinely good person, he felt no particular malice in her heart, but that didn't mean he was going to reveal himself to her. "I have recently left a, well, you would probably call it a religious order. One of the many things they taught me was how to defend myself."
He took a step toward her and offered his hand. "My name is Felix. It is a delight to meet you."

His answer to her question caused a faint smile to come onto her lips. Figured. She was calming down now, realizing that this wasn't some second trap. He seemed genuine from the look of his eyes and expression. She wasn't often wrong about others.
She didn't move back this time when he stepped closer to her, and as he offered his hand, her smile warmed more. She took it to shake.
"Mine is Kyra, and likewise. And.. I genuinely mean thank you. This would have been one more bad event in a bad day." A faint smile tinged her words, but she was speaking truthfully.
"Um.. I think it's best we get out of here.." Even though this had been self-defence, she had the distinct impression troops wouldn't see it in that light.

As the fear and surprise faded Felix could feel the warmth of gratitude fill her. That in turn brought a larger smile to his face.
"I don't particulary care to press charges either. Hopefully these boys will learn from this lesson and turn from their lives of crime." Felix realized he was being overly formal in front of Kyra. He was trying to impress her. Mostly though, they didn't have much of a case. If he had been a Jedi then no one would question why he had done what he had done. But now they would have to prove intent to harm, it would be a long drawn out ordeal and if it came out that Felix had left the Jedi order... that never looked good.
Felix pointed toward the way Kyra had came. "That will lead us back to the main thoroughfare. But I'm not sure where you were headed. Perhaps you should lead?"

Kyra supressed a disbeleiving sound. She'd met enough of these sort of 'boys' to know that they never learned. They could be sent to prison and still come back out ready for their next trip out.
At his suggestion, she nodded, heading back down the street towards the main throughfare. She deliberately sidestepped Dawson, still nervous he'd make a grab for her ankle or something, and immediately felt a flash of annoyance at herself. Stop being so silly, she told herself.
She forced her mind off what had just happened; thinking instead of the best route now. She glanced over at Felix as they got to the end of the side street and moved onto the main throughfare. Realizing for the first time, now that she was calm, that he was attractive. Her heart gave a funny little jolt, which she quickly quelled. He'd said he'd left a religious order.. She spoke after a moment.
"This way. I was headed to a local hostel of sorts. Just for the night, i'm not planning to stay docked here very long." She hesitated just for a second. ".. I know it's not really my business, but do you have a place to stay? This place is cheap, and more secure then some of the halfway houses in this area."

Felix let Kyra lead. He found himself walking one step behind her and to the right, just as he had with the various Jedi Masters he apprenticed under. He slipped naturally into a position of servitude. It was not that he was submissive, it was that the Jedi cultivated humility. Felix noticed and it took him a moment to come to terms with the situation.
The truth was that he liked helping people. One of the things he had to come to realize as a Padawan was that his 'masters,' while they were never to be defied, were training him, guiding him. They didn't issue commands out of pride, but to teach him and train him up in the ways of the force. When he called them master Felix didn't acknowledge their lordship over him, he acknowledged their proficiency with skills and understanding that he did not yet have.
Kyra's pang of attraction pulled him out of his contemplation. That she was asking him if he had a place to stay gave him pause. Was she coming on to him? Felix wasn't sure; he had no basis to compare it to. He paused and considered her words. If she was docked here why wasn't she just sleeping on her ship? He wasn't sure, but there was no malice in Kyra's offer so he decided to accept.
"I'm afraid I don't have a place to stay, or many dataries. My order provided for my every need and now that I've left them..." He stopped. This wasn't coming out right. Felix started over. "Forgive me, I don't mean to burden you with my problems. I would be honored to be guided by you in this matter."

She considered the options for a moment. The only reason she had thought about finding a hostel for tonight was sleeping in Astra alone. She had never done that, and the thought was a little strange and unnerving. With Marcus gone.. She jerked her thoughts away from him, away from her predicament. She slowed her steps, turning towards Felix.
"I.. know this might seem a strange offer, but this is the only real way I can think of to repay you. I'm the captain of a freighter ship, and.. if you wish.. I can offer you a place to sleep there for the night."
Recognising how that might sound, she continued quickly "This is just repayment. And i'm the only one on Astra currently, my co-pilot has.. has gone back to our home town. There are separate sleeping quarters, so I won't be bothering you during the night." She gave a little smile; almost hoping he'd say yes.
"So.. what do you say?"

"Yes, lead the way."
Maybe because he was new to the games of men and women and sex in general, but to Felix it didn't seem odd. Kyra's offer of hospitality was a perfectly reasonable expression of gratitude. It would never occur to him to take advantage of her sexually.
Felix could tell Kyra had conflicting feelings about her co-pilot leaving, but he didn't press. He simply followed where she led. A normal sentient would notice the sway of her hips as she moved. As a master of the Jedi arts Felix didn't even look.

A little burst of relief went through her. At least one thing was going right today. She led him back the way she had come from the diner; bypassing that and then moving eventually into the main docking station. The sky was now quieter then it had been when Kyra arrived; the intersteller traffic waning as night drew in.
Kyra led Felix past other ships also docked for the night, and finally reached Astra. A light smile tugged her lips now; she'd have spent all night worrying about her ship if she'd been away, she knew it. She vaulted up slightly and pressed the keys to call the boarding pad down. She indicated for him to board.
"Go ahead."
Once she was inside after him, she turned and brought the boarding pad back up, plunging them temporarily into dim light. Then she turned the lights on within the craft.
"Well.. welcome.. Sleeping quarters are through here for civilian travellers if you want some privacy.." As she spoke, she had slipped nimbly past him to an area close by the door to the cockpit, opening the door to show him what she meant
"I'll be in the crew's quarters." She hesitated a little; she always felt a little protective of her ship, and unsure what others thought of it. "It's not much, but it's mine." She gave a little shrug of her shoulders as she spoke.

Felix smiled at her burst of relief. It felt good to make someone else happy. He followed Kyra through the streets of Coruscant near the Orgaana spaceport. It was that brief period of night before daylight when the city got as calm as it ever did. Felix could almost see enough stars to make out a few constellations. Felix stretched out his feelings and took the city in.
They came to Kyra's ship and Felix could feel her pride. He went aboard at her beckon and let her give him the tour, which ended with a shrug.
"It is a beautiful ship," Felix said. He nodded toward the civilian quarters. "If you'll excuse me I will turn in. Thank you for your hospitality Kyra."

"You're welcome. Sleep well."
She turned away as he closed the door to the civilian quarters. She was not 100% certain what had caused her urge to offer him rest. Returning his help, of course, was part of it, but there were many other ways she could have chosen to show her gratitude and so on. She supposed her own tiredness had placed this at the forefront of her thoughts.
She first moved into the cockpit and checked everything was turned off and safe. A habit she'd picked up from her father; he had always had to check things so often it would cause her family to go crazy. Once she was certain, she closed the cockpit door, and went into the crew quarters, closing the door quietly.
She stripped down to a simple, thin vest top and skirt, before settling down into the lower bunk, the one she had pretty much always frequented on this ship. She stared up at the ceiling above, sleep starting to wash over her. She would sort things out in the morning.. It would be alright.. It had to be..

Felix walked the civilian quarter, looking for the shower. After a long day at work and then the fight he was definitely cognizant of his own scent. It wasn't pleasant, but it was not yet replulsive. A shower would fix that.
Then laundry. He only had the one set of clothes so while he waited for the machine to clean them Felix decided to meditate. Naked. The nudity didn't bother him. He was alone after all. Felix paused, letting the force flow through him. Then leapt into a handstand. He shifted so all of his weight was on one hand. Finding his center was key. Once he had that he began to levitate things in the room. Detergent, a mop and broom, trash bags, other cleaning supplies. In a matter of moments he had everything in the room floating through the air, the force flowing through him.
Felix closed his eyes and focused on the flow of the force. His mind was so occupied with the act of leivitating everything he no longer had the capacity for conscious thoought. The was when the Force was most likely to speak to him.
Today the Force had nothing to say.
The alarm for thw clothes cleaner went off pulling Felix back to the world. He didn't drop anything. On the contrary he used the force to open the cleaning machine and add his clothes to the flying carnival, everything moving to the music in his head. Felix closed his eyes again, stretching out his feelings to touch everything in the room.
The arm he was using to support himself bent slightly, and then he launched himself in the air, doing a flip. The objects began to fly about faster and faster. When Felix landed he was fully dressed and every object in the room was back where he found it.
"Do or do not," Felix said with a grin, "there is no try. Good night Master Yoda, I'm going to ed."

The next morning, Kyra woke early, as seemed to have become her habit in the past few months. She got up, stretching out her body, then headed for a shower. Stripping nude, she simply stood under the warm water for a couple of minutes, letting it wake both her mind and her body. Then she washed her body and hair throughly, before turning the water off and drying herself quickly with a towel. She used her hands to strain most of the water from her hair before heading, nude still, back into the sleeping area.
With Marcus around, she had rarely stripped fully. He might have been a family friend, but that did not make her any more inclined to let him see her like that. Not having him around felt oddly freeing. Nonetheless, she hadn't forgotten she had a guest within the ship. She dressed in a tunic and pants.. she wasn't going to be leaving quite yet, she could wait before changing into her slightly stuff flight clothes. They didn't happen to make her feel particularly feminine either..
She tied her hair up into a side ponytail that fell over her left shoulder, before moving out of the crew quarters into the main area. Felix wasn't out yet. Unsure what he would want to eat for breakfast (or even if he would want anything), she set a few things down onto the chrome table, before settling herself down in a cross legged position on a chair. She didn't have any food yet, just sipped from a glass of Jawa juice.
Her mind began to wander; the thought of what she was going to do once again taking precidence. There were bound to be job centres within Organa if she was unable to find anyone in the immediate vicinity. That would probably be the best idea anyway.. she wasn't sure she wanted to just choose a person randomly from nowhere..
She turned her head as the door to the civilian quarters, and gave Felix a smile.
"Morning. How did you sleep?"

Felix awoke refreshed, and immediately went into meditation, propping himself up with the other hand this time, for variety. There wasn't nearly as many things in his sleeping quarters as there had been in the laundry room. It would just take another moment or two to become one with the force.
Master Yoda had taught him to find peace amidst chaos. Master Qui-Gon had believed that outer serenity flowed into inner serenity. Master Luke taught both paths and made sure all Jedi learned both paths so they could use whichever was most helpful. Their crude flesh had passed away millenia ago, but still they remained. They had discovered the secret of true immortality.
Felix had been the first in his clan to master the techniques that allowed him to see and communicate with the ethereal immortals. He loved to spend time with them, to learn from them. Spending time with the Immortals had been one of the reasons he studied the ways of the Jedi with such intensity: Felix wanted what they had.
Since he left the order the Immortals had not spoken to him once. At most they watched from afar. It had only been a few days, surely one of them would seek him out soon for a conversation.
Felix pushed all this from his mind and cleared it, focusing on floating things around the room. Soon he was lost in the force, aware of everything in the room. Then everything in the ship. He noted Kyra waking without paying it any attention. His senses continued outward until he was touching everything on the planet. Not that he could process all that information, but he didn't need to. He was becoming one with the force.
A long time later the force gave him a vision. He was in an unfamiliar turret/cupola with enemies bearing down on him. The clothes he wore were unfamiliar. He saw an enemy star fighter in his sights and he fired, atomizing them in the dead of space.
Felix flipped onto his feet, returningeverything where it went. He headed to the mess where Kyra had prepared a meal and considered his vision. It was a possible future. It had to be as he hadn't expereinced this yet. It seemed innoculous enough. Pirates were plentiful enough in the galaxy, and the Hutts still ruled on a thousand worlds. Conflict in space wasn't inevitable, but it was quite common.
Felix entered the mess hall and returned Kyra's greeting. He picked up a peice of fruit and a bit of Jawa jice and sat down across from her.
"I slept well enough, but I had a strange," he paused for a half second, not wanting to lie, but not prepared to tell the truth either, "Dream." He shook his head and glanced at the ship's chrono hanging from a wall.
"I don't mean to be rude, but I must eat quickly. I need to be at work shortly."

She watched him as he picked up a piece of fruit and then sat across from her. Glancing him over, she saw he looked a little.. troubled? That feeling only enhanced by his answer to her question. She was intrigued, but didn't press the matter with him. Dreams were often very strange.
She glanced at the chrono herself as he mentioned needing to leave. It was still quite early. The streets would start busying soon; perhaps now would be the best time to go and look around. Curiousity overtook her again now that he had mentioned that he worked, and after taking a sip of her jawa juice, she spoke.
"That's alright, I have a few.. tasks to perform anyway before I go anywhere, it would be best to do those early. What sort of work do you do? If you don't mind me asking, that is." She was feeling like she was asking him too many questions.

Felix bit into his fruit and and swallowed it down with some Jawa Juice.
"I don't mind Kyra. Yesterday was my first day unloading bulk freighters for the Organa port authority. Before that I was homeless." Felix took another bite of fruit, swallowing it before he continued. "Today will be the fourth day since I rejoined the secular life. I," Felix took a deep breath and let it out, "I'm not disappointed in my choice but life has more, well, intricacies then I expected."

Somehow, she hadn't expected that. That was hard manual labour and, as far as Kyra knew, not well paid. Even though she'd known he had recently left this religious order of his, she had been expecting something more substantial. He was selling himself out.
His last comment made her smile slightly.
"It does.. and it can take a while to get used to them and learn them all."
She considered him for a moment, before glancing down. There was an urge growing in her, one to help him out. His comment had told her he was unused to some of the points of life, and there weren't many who would be willing to lend a helping hand around Organa. She hesitated for a moment longer, before speaking once again.
"I don't mean to sound.. condescending or anything, but.. bulk freighting is a job that won't get you very far. And, from what i've seen, I think you could better then that." She hesitated for a second.. how best to ask?
"I think i've told you my co-pilot left yesterday. This presents me with a problem. I can not fly this ship by myself, that would be dangerous and foolish. I was going to go and see who and what was available in this city but.. it seems I don't need to look that far."
She offered a faint smile, then continued.
"If you are agreeable, I would be happy take you on as my crewsman. It would give you some learning experience, and on top of that, the pay can be pretty good. I would split half and half with you on whatever comes in. It would also give you lodging and food. It doesn't have to be permenant.. just something to get you sorted."
She was studying his face for a reaction, a hint the whole time she spoke. Again, she felt slightly nervous.
"I'm.. not asking for an immediate answer either.. if you need to think it over, that's alright."

"That doesn't seem fair."
Felix bit into the fruit again and chewed a few times, taking another swig of Jawa juice.
"Its your ship, and you'll be teaching me as we go, and setting up all the cargo, and probably a million other things I simply don't know about due to my lack of experience." He took another swallow of juice. "No, fifty percent doesn't sound fair. I should be getting less."
