The Gods of Ancient Times were beings to be feared. Each had their specific regions of rule, particular aspects of life that mortals begged the Gods to help them with. Being such creatures of infinite power, they were known to be quite fickle; seeming to only take interest in the people beneath them when found to be convenient to them... When they could use those who revered them so greatly to their own needs. Over time, the fear that was once held towards the Gods began to fade into something else: frustration... anger... hatred. The Gods simply scoffed at this, threatening to make the lives of mortals miserable. As time continued to pass, the mortals' line of generations found themselves doubting the gods more and more.

This the Gods took notice of. It seemed that without the mortals paying attention to them, providing them with their offerings, sacrifices, and the like, their immortal powers began to dwindle. Even the mighty Zeus could be seen to have the effects of the mortals' shunnings taking a toll upon him. As time continued to flow, the immortal beings were forced to do the unthinkable- take up lives among those they once thought so little of.

Their powers did not fully cease, but have decreased greatly. Certain influences can allow their abilities to develop to a greater level, but nothing as powerful as they once were. The age of each of the Gods has never changed- At least, not unless they choose to appear as such. Their outward appearance may change, but can easily revert to the form they have always known. From this, they have been able to continue their lives as their own ancestors for centuries, doing their best to blend into the world around them.

Today, the majority of the former Deities reside in a small city in Southern California; fittingly referred to as Olympos. Certain grudges still remain, as well as alliances. Unfortunately, they can also still be just as fickle as they once were...

Current Name: Alexa Bliss
Appearance:

Deity of: Love

Bio: Since their departure from Olymus, 'Dite has taken on many different roles, ranging from working at a brothel to actually settling down as a married woman. That, however, didn't last very long- She soon grew bored with the life at home and simply took off. She's always had a love/hate relationship with her brother Ares, sometimes varying very strongly to either end of the spectrum.

Personality: Don't let the ditzy blonde exterior fool you. Alexa/'Dite is actually a very smart woman, but prefers people to believe the stereotype fits her perfectly. She's quite used to getting her own way, and will do everything in her power to make sure of that... including a little sexual influence.

Abilities:
Sexual influence- She can give a little "attractional nudge" as she wishes, either towards herself or others.
Spite- As easily as she can cause love, she can end it.
Teleportation- Coming and going as she pleases to any location.
God Sense- She can also tell when 'hidden' others are around her, if she pays attention.

She has no real fighting abilities, part of the reason as to why she tries to keep the relationship with Ares on good terms... but sometimes its just so hard to agree with that guy!

Appearance:

Deity of: ???

Bio: Since being bound to the rock, Prometheus has been harboring a lot of hate towards the Olympians who treated him in such a way. Since being freed from the great rock by Heracles he became part of human society. He's made a fair living for himself without actually making himself well enough known for his fame to become a problem for him.

Personality: A powerful believer in forethought and planning, he usually tries to figure out what problems something might cause him before he does much of anything, and tries not to take careless risks. He is rather passionate about helping mankind and is willing to fight all out against another god if it is in the interests of mankind.

Abilities:
Regeneration- Any damage that he takes, even vital damage, is recovered at midnight.
Fire Manipulation- He's the 'Fire-Bringer'. Of course he'd be able to manipulate fire.
Resistance- He seems to be extra resistant to powers that would adjust his mental state. He isn't immune, it would just take more work to get him to the same point than it would take on a normal person.
God Sense- He can also tell when 'hidden' others are around him, if he pays attention.

Deity of: Wild Things

Bio: Artemis slipped out of Olympus during the reign of Constantine, in the late second century of the Roman calendar. Foreseeing what the rise of Christianity would do to their already dwindling powers, she used all of her wiles to talk her brother, Apollo, into going with her. For nearly two thousand years they’ve traipsed the earth, a hunting pair, bringing in the dawn and heralding the mysteries of the future - making their small mark on history - a pair of mischievous eternal twins.

Personality: Playful Pony has a rather indulgent and bacchanalian nature for a Goddess purported to be a virgin. Like the rest of the world, she may have let her ethics slide, just a bit. She has a fiercely protective nature but finds herself most comfortable in an acquiescent role.

Abilities:
- Animal Whisperer- She has a particularly strong rapport with the creatures of the earth
- Flying- She has the ability to manipulate gravitational fields.
- Intuition- An age old sense, it runs strongly in her blood.
- God Sense- She can also tell when 'hidden' others are around her, if she pays attention.

She’s very close to her brother, Apollo.

Deity Of: War

Bio: Things didn't change as greatly for Ares during the departure. Things simply became more personal. No longer was he overseeing armies and coordinating attacks. Gone were those days. In there place was a single, meta-human man, craving nothing more than the next fight, the next battle. Bar fights, street fights, MMA, and so on. His human form was inspired by the "fighters" of modern culture, the Irish. Alcoholic and violent. His perfect life.

Personality: Hot-headed and quick to violence, Ares is a dangerous man. However, he is not a complete barbarian. When the situation calls, he can be smooth, debonair, and well-spoken. His relationship with his sister had never been one of unconditional love, but he kept a civil relationship. It had it's benefits.

Abilities:
Enhanced Strength- He possessed strength five times greater than that of an average human male.

Bad Influence- He has an unmatched charisma, and is able to draw on people's emotions, particularly negative, and use them to control the person's actions.

Adaptiveness- He is able to quickly to adapt to any combat scenario, turning various nearby objects into impromptu weaponry.

God Sense- He can also tell when 'hidden' others are around him, if he pays attention.

Exactly how much of Ancient God mythology would you expect someone to know if they wanted to play in this? Cause at best, I know certain names and what they were gods of but that would be about it. At first I just wasn't going to bother but then I thought the concept of playing Hades could be quite interesting.

Well I'm not too fond of reading a lot, so I only stuck with the Wiki. I have a decent idea for Hades as a character but I'm stuck on what abilities to give him... His special item was a helmet of invisibility which would have been an easy one to mold, but that ability appears to already be taken. In fact, multiple ability ideas I had ended up being taken already, or at least in a way that would make mine rather redundant.

Actually, I'm editing that out of mine as a main ability. I was trying to give it off as more of a "can hide from other gods" thing, but the god sense kind of implies that already.

Besides, Goddess of Love should be playing with more sexual based powers. What's she care if she walks in in broad daylight on someone?

Bio: After descending from Olympus Terpsichore worked many a different position. Ranging from creating different dance moves, to running a dance club underground. Every dance move through the ages could be attributed to Terps.

Personality: Terps is a party lover, she loves nothing more then to go out to dance every night. In her spare time she Choreographs for the stars, earning big bucks for what she loves. She is sweet, but can be sarcastic and witty when she chooses to be.

Abilities: Terps is able to influence people without them realizing it, when someone needs a muse she's there, helping people with their creativity.

I am not involved in this thread so feel free to ignore this. It is my attempt at humour.

But I just felt that such a travesty could not go unmentioned. It is a crime that there is an Apollo that is not Jamie Bamber. That is all.
