He stood then. "But you probably want some privacy, and time to think. I'll leave you alone for now. Feel free to use anything you find in this room, and there is a very well appointed bathroom right through that door." He pointed to the door across the room. He began to wonder if there would be a more efficient method for her conversion. "But I'll bet that takes away a lot of your time from doing school work. It's a good thing you're so good in school that you don't have to work as hard to maintain your grades. I'm envious."

He had turned the conversation onto safe ground; she still remembered parts of her education years. "I just work hard.." she replied. "Really, really hard.."

He nodded. "It just goes to show what sort of a student you are, Kimmy. College is usually like that, I've found. Aside from the school work, you go a little crazy doing new things. Sometimes your grades suffer, but it's the successful ones that can balance it all out."

He put his hand on her arm. "I'll leave you to your privacy now... There are some things I need to look into and I'm sure you don't want to spend your day talking about boring stuff like school." Smiling, he left her alone, the door once again locking behind him.

The data that he had collected did indeed show that she wasn't absorbing the new memories as well as she could be. Some resistance was normal, but the progress was hampered by the fact the programming was being transmitted via sound while she slept. If he had a more direct line, the efficiency would be much higher.

He began to work.

She waved as he left the room, the now familiar click of the lock coming straight after the firm sound of the door closing. Turning to the TV, she switched on the fashion channel and started to watch another fashion show, admiring the swirl of colours and patterns on the perfect female models as they walked elegantly down a long, glittering catwalk. She'd love to look like them. Perfection..

While she watched TV, Adam was looking over the logs of her conversion so far. It was as he had suspected, the delivery method was impacting the absorbtion of the new memories. But he had an idea of how to get around that.

It would take him a couple days to get the necessary changes made to the system, so he left the current method running until he was ready.

The next morning brought new memories as usual. Kimmy had gone on a spending spree when she had first arrived at College, and had to get a job to pay for it all. Adam brought her breakfast that morning, shortly after she woke up. "Good morning Kimmy... I bet you're loving not having to go to class anymore."

Even though she remembered not caring about her education, a part of her felt guilty for not giving it more attention. She laughed, her cheeks flushing guiltily. "Okay okay, I admit I regret all that time I did do studying..." she replied truthfully, taking up her knife and fork and looking at the full tray happily. "I guess I'm a lot happier here..I think I am anyway..."

He smiled at her in genuine happiness. "Kimmy, you have no idea how happy I am to hear you say that. Just for that, I'm going to give you a present. Would you like that?"

The present would be that he would take her on a walk around his estate. Showing her everything that she would have access to once he was sure she wouldn't try to run away. He hoped that would give her incentive. Not that she really had much to choose consiously. But the incentive would help with what he was planning on doing to her soon.
