I have been thinking a lot about my own story and especially an old BF and our year together. I think it might make a readable story, but mostly I just want to write it down. Do people think that autobiography makes good reading on LIT and if so, in which section does it belong?

Yes go for it

Yes a story based on your personal experience can be good especially if you write some good hot gay sex scenes !

Of course it should go in gay sex section .

Good luck go for it !

It obviously depends how it's written. I have a four part personal story that, if I didn't announce it as a true story (in a long preamble to the second part) nobody would be the wiser, because I wrote it as a story, which just happens to be true.

If by autobiography you also mean detail about everything else in your life at the time (work, life in general, whatever else you think belongs in autobiography), then I'd suggest not including that unless it's directly relevant to the erotic tale, because frankly, who will care unless it paints a more vivid picture of the protagonists? That will depend on your skill as a story teller.

I placed mine (four parts) in relevant categories, which meant the first two chapters (first time and anal) attracted higher reader counts than the last two chapters which I put in Erotic Couplings as the most obvious place for what was by then a very intimate story. The readers who stuck with the story for the last two chapters are the important ones for me, because they obviously wanted to know the outcome (the view counts of the last two parts are almost the same, which indicates to me the same people read both those parts).

Autobiography is still story telling, regardless of the truth in the words.
