I like to read the same thing, but I rarely find stories that works for me. That's why I started writing

I wouldn't say that I rarely find stories here that work for me. There are plenty of stories I've enjoyed. But I would say that I'm often inspired by stories I read to want to handle something I'm reading about in a somewhat different way, and that's a big part of what drives my story-writing.
I tend to naturally write around this scenario too...conflicted, feel-good, affirming, acceptance, etc. Most all of my stories touch on some inner conflict that needs to be broken down and reshaped into self acceptance. For me, the conflicts usually include non-hetero issues such as bisexuality, gay, trans, etc.
Nice thread topic...very enlightening seeing the variety of what people like to read (and write).
ETA: After reading this thread though, I'm wondering if I need to step out of my comfort zone and try something different
So many options and ideas!
