Jake leaned across the desk towards the pretty little blonde with a slick smile. He was well dressed, hair combed, cologne on, game on. Today was the day we would get a date for the prom. The eighteen year old thought he had it all figured out, he had the proposal, the tickets, he just needed the date.
But that's where Cassie would come in. "Hey Cassie, how would you like a free ride in a limo, all you can drink non-alcoholic beverages, and if you play your cards right...home only slightly late for curtview?"
Cassie glanced up with a smile. She and Jake had been friends for years, at least in passing. They had a lot of classes together, and knew each other fairly well, but never hung out or did anything of that nature. "Sounds good. What do I have to do for such a generous prize?"
Jake smacked the desktop with his palm gently. "Go to prom with me." He said happily, as if it was the easiest thing in the world.
Cassie gritted her teeth and hissed apologetically. "Oh, sorry no can do there buddy. I'm already committed to going with Rick. He's kind of my boyfriend."
JAke blinked, "Since when?"
"Like.....two....no three....years ago?" She said. "It's a wonderful offer though, I'm sure you'll get someone to go with you."
Jake sighed and nodded, turning around slowly. From his binder he pulled out a sheet of paper and crossed Cassie's name off the list. Cassie had been the last name on that list, everyone else had also shot him down. With a sigh, he crumpled the paper and shoved it into a side pocket of his backpack. Perhaps he had gone about this all wrong. Why did he start with buying the tickets? The incredibly expensive, non-refundable tickets?
That night Jake went home dejected. 400 dollars sat on his desk about to go to waste. The prom was two short months away, and he was out of dating options. He couldn't try to second hand sell them either because everyone who was going to prom already had their tickets bought and locked in. Which means he would be the guy that would show up stag. Because of course he had to show up, for 200 dollars he damn well at least walk in the front door.
With a sigh he clicked on his computer and started browsing through the local news. He lived in nowhere'sville, USA, the town in which nothing exciting ever happens....well except the two or three times a year someone climbs the water tower while drunk and then gets too scared to climb back down.
"Anya Clark to film movie locally" the headline caught his eye. He leaned forward and read eagerly. He loved Anya Clark, she was the hottest woman in Hollywood right now, and she always seemed like such a cool chick whenever she was interviewed. According to the article, she was going to be in town for the next six weeks filming a portion of her next big film.
Jake sat back and stared at his screen in wonder.
Quickly he queued up her Instagram page:
God she was incredible.
Jake brought up his webcamera and took a deep breath.
"Anya, I know this is the longest shot in the history of long shots. But I'm desperate, and if anyone can help me now it is you. My name is Jake Rudger and I need a date for me prom on October 7th. Tickets already bought, but...everyone told me no. Now I am a huge fan of yours and everytime I see you in an interview you seem like the nicest, coolest, person so here goes the long shot. Can you help me? Will you go to prom with me? I see you'll be in my town for the next little while filming and I understand you're busy, but....even if you only come for an hour...it would mean that the summer of work, and the weeks of preparation for this event wont be for nothing. So what do you say? Make a dream come true?"
Jake closed the camera and pasted the video into Instagram, clicking the button that would send it directly to Anya. Though it most likely would never get seen by her. She probably had some PR guy do all her social shit.
But he didn't loose anything by asking did he?
(Looking for someone to play Anya, who agrees to go to prom with Jake. But things take a sexual turn, leading Anya to do far more than she intended to do with him)
