I don't know why I bother.
I don't know why, either. I'm fully aware of the bullshit reason given for not releasing the information.

I don't know why I bother.
An 'authority' shot and killed him. Why would they be in a rush to paint the victim in a positive light?
If he wasn't a CCL holder, they'd have announced it within hours.
Because it would be the right thing to do, if true. Imagine that.
Yeah, the Star Tribune is such a trashy pulp tabloid.
The "right thing" to do, would have been not to shoot him.
Probably so, but not the point of discussion.
It's the ultimate point of the discussion.
But in regards to your obsession with this one small aspect: he was a law-abiding citizen, and by all accounts given, a CCL holder. Nothing has been stated to the contrary. If he wasn't a CCL holder, the cops would have absolutely have said it within hours. It would have made them look better.
Your obsession with the police giving an official statement that they fucked up and killed a law-abiding citizen isn't going to come. They are already going to be sued out the ass for this, why would they publicly admit to their fuck up?
No, it's not the ultimate point of the discussion. Transparency in government is a much more important point. The public has the right to know a simple fact such as whether the individual shot and killed by a cop held a valid CCL or not. I assure you it is an important fact, and I see no valid reason to keep the truth hidden from the public.
I don't know why I get involved in these fucking discussions here.
You have a thick head. I don't know what else to tell you.
Funny, I was thinking that about you, and some others here.
Why is that unfortunate?
Can the police not be trusted to keep their fingers off the trigger of their side-arms?
Easy for you to say.
You have no idea how dangerous it is to walk up on a vehicle. Add to that they could (legally) have a concealed weapon... but feel free to pass judgement from the comfort of your sofa.
This year will go down in the record books as one of the safest for police officers in recorded history, according to data released this week from the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. There were 42 fatal shootings of police officers in 2015, down 14 percent from 2014, according to the organization.
Overall, 124 officers were killed in the line of duty this year. More than one third of those deaths were due to traffic accidents, the largest single cause of officer fatalities. Thirty other officers died of a variety of other causes, including job-related illnesses.
“I’m going to stop a car,” the officer says on the recording. “I’m going to check IDs. I have reason to pull it over.”
“The two occupants just look like people that were involved in a robbery,” the officer says. “The driver looks more like one of our suspects, just ‘cause of the wide set nose,” the officer continues.
A minute and a half later, the recording captures the first report that there was a shooting.
What's wrong with working in a warehouse?
I have no idea what the course of study is to obtain a permit in MN. But I have gone through the course in two other states and one of the subjects that they cover is how to handle situations where you have been stopped by the police, how to transition to police control if you should happen to have to use your weapon, etc. In other words how to conduct yourself in the presence of the police to make certain that the officer doesn't consider you a threat. Merely announcing that you have a CCL does not necessarily buy you a free pass.
If, for example, he brandished the weapon without being explicitly told to do so by the officer the officer would be threatened regardless of the individuals intent. No officers are mind readers.

Pretty clearly shows the racial bias of the officer in question.
The robbery that the officer allegedly was referring to was committed by two men. Not a man and a woman, and especially not a 4 year old child.
What's wrong with working in a warehouse?
Man was it hot in the warehouse today...
I feel a little dehydrated.
I'm told that workin' in a warehouse can be a bit debilitatin' during the hot summer months, especially when you are obese, in your late 50s and have a defective heart valve like AJ claims. Just ask him
Personally, I've never worked in a warehouse.
I have. Nothing wrong with an honest days work for. An honest days pay.
