That's fine. I just read your post and was all Woah, Billie got a deathbed thought?!. I mean that's significance right there. I'm keeping my head canon. It'll fit in neatly with the other ships I carry for this rp so far.

So my brain was more fried last night than I anticipated.

This is true, and the 90+ (100+ with the heat index) degree weather I've been working in the last couple of weeks doesn't help with my brain fry.

I'm in the panhandle, so the heat index is only 100 degrees at high noon today. Could be worse I suppose, but I am over it.

Personality – Good-natured, loyal, and determined.

Gear –
Inertia Belt: All of Rocket's superhuman powers derive from the inertia winder installed in her belt buckle. When activated, the inertia winder surrounds Rocket in an "inertia field," which absorbs and stores any kinetic energy used against it. Due to Hardware's tinkering on Rocket's inertia winder, the device is unique since it enables her to manipulate the kinetic energy stored in the inertia field. The field is normally invisible to the human eye, but glows purple when it absorbs or releases kinetic energy.

Force Field: The inertia field protects Rocket from anything invested with kinetic energy: physical blows, bullets, falls, etc. The inertia field normally extends a few inches from Rocket's body, but she can expand the field to enclose much greater areas.
Kinetic Energy Punches: Rocket can hit with superhuman force by releasing kinetic energy as she throws a punch. By releasing all the energy in the inertia field, she can stagger powerful beings like Icon with a single blow. However, such a feat would leave Rocket defenseless so she prefers to throw less powerful punches. Furthermore, Rocket has moral qualms about using her full store of kinetic energy against normal human opponents.
Superhuman Throwing: Rocket can use kinetic energy to increase the force with which she hurls an object, turning it into a dangerous projectile. For example, she once hurled a bullet with enough force to rival a gunshot from a high-caliber rifle. This ability is limited to objects which she can lift and toss with her normal strength.
Kinetic Energy Blasts: Rocket can project her stored kinetic energy over a distance as focused beams from her hands. As with her kinetic punches, the amount of damage she can cause depends on the amount of kinetic energy she uses.
Inertialess Field: Rocket can use her inertia winder to surround a target within an "inertialess field." This field's kinetic energy nullifies the energy of anything trapped within down to the molecular level. As a result, Rocket can use the inertialess field to effectively immobilize her opponents. In fact, some opponents can fall unconscious in as much as the field prevents oxygen molecules from reaching their lungs. The inertialess field consumes enormous amounts of energy and collapses after a few seconds.
Flight: Rocket can fly by releasing her inertia field's kinetic energy beneath her, launching her skyward. Rocket is capable of flying through narrow corridors and performing complex aerial maneuvers. She can even hover in midair by releasing controlled bursts of kinetic energy beneath her.
Costume: Rocket wears a costume composed of alien materials generated by the Maker device aboard Icon's crashpod. The costume is highly tear-resistant and insulates Rocket from heat and cold. Rocket's current costume also has a built-in monitoring system that warns her when the inertia field is low on kinetic energy.
Mask:The mask is composed of an alien material generated by the Maker aboard Icon's crashpod. The mask adheres to her face through unknown means when she dons it. Rocket's mask has lenses that turned translucent when it was worn, thereby further concealing her identity.

Power/ability –
Writing: Raquel Ervin is a gifted writer as well as a voracious reader.
Gymnastics: A former high school gymnast, she is very agile and has quick reflexes.
Hand-to-Hand Combat (Basic): Rocket is a good hand-to-hand combatant due to her crimefighting experience as Icon's partner.

Weakness - Power Limitation: Rocket's inertia field has certain weaknesses due to its very nature.

Vulnerability to Non-Kinetic Attacks: The inertia field offers little protection against weapons based on non-kinetic energy like thermal (like flamethrowers) or electrical (like tasers).

Vulnerability to Stealth Attacks: The field will not activate if a person or object exerts little kinetic energy against it. Hence, Rocket is vulnerable to stealth attacks, which rely on slower movements and minimal force.

Inertia Field Overload: The amount of kinetic energy Rocket's field can absorb and store is not limitless. Hence, as the field reaches its limit, she begins to feel the attacks directed against her.

Bio – Born and raised on Paris Island, a suburb of Dakota City, Raquel had dreams of becoming a famous writer, but no way to get there. As her neighborhood, already fallen long into disrepair before she was born, succumbed to gang violence and drug use, she turned to books and writing as her only solace. Yet even those bastions of knowledge and hope were not enough to shield her from reality forever. Her sister’s death felt like the beginning of the end for her. Paris Island had defeated her mother, and claimed her sister, and it seemed almost crushingly inevitable that she, despite her dreams and ideals, would be dragged down a similar road one of these days. It was those kind of thoughts that lead her to the home of Augustus Freeman one fateful night.

As Paris Island was devastated by what was soon to be known as “The Big Bang”, Raquel was miles away with people that were supposed to be her friends as they broke into the lawyer’s lavish house. Unfortunately for her friends, the owner was there night and defended himself. Instead of being terrified, for the first time in years she felt hope. Augustus Freeman was a superhero in the making, she just knew it, and Raquel proceeded to spend as much time as she could trying to convince him to become one.

Eventually she succeeded only for her to quickly find out that she was pregnant. Everyone told her to get an abortion. They told her a baby would ruin her life and the more she thought about it, the more she felt they were right. With a baby to take care of, it didn’t matter how much talent and conviction she might have, there was no way she would ever escape Paris Island. Then Augustus and her grandmother made her see things differently, made her see that there was hope and that starting a family early would not be enough to crush her. The decision to keep her baby turned out to be the best decision of her life. However it created a divide in her family that never fully repaired.

Years later, Raquel is still fighting the good fight alongside Augustus(now known as Icon) at night, and works during the day as an archivist at one of the local libraries. She is very happy with the little life that she has built with her son.

This all looks pretty awesome.

All I have are some minor notes on the numbers.

Rose is also an avid reader and writer, and I gave her a 65 Intelligence, Raquel may be around there too? Maybe not in the high genius range like Damian and Ruby, but way above average? Rose's Int number may go up when she and M'gann later become a more cohesive organism and Rose has access to Martian modes of thinking, but for now, 65 would put Rose and Raquel about on par.

I think you might be lowballing her Power a bit. I know she may not be a suitcase nuke like Captain Atom or a godslayer like Jaime Reyes, but I've seen Rocket's bubble take hits from an angry Wonder Woman like a champ. If that doesn't put her into mountain busting territory, I don't know what would.

Also, Combat? Has she had much hand-to-hand instruction from her colleagues? Or does she rely more on the winder to do the heavy lifting in a scrap?

I'm sure it would come in very handy.

It would just require greater dexterity than one such as I.

I don't get cut often but when I do.. I get stitches.

I don't get cut by knives. Often.

But as I have five cats there tend to be proximity mishaps with their foot-fangs more often than I'd like.
