About the Role of GLBT Moderators
Hi everybody!
I'm so glad that in just a few short months this forum has blossomed to be the vibrant community it is today. When I started the board in spring of last year, I was genuinely nervous and afraid that it wouldn't take off, and indeed we did have dissenters at first. But today we have a lot of great threads and discussion. Go us!
One thing I'd like to mention is that Queersetti and I are participants on this board, not just moderators. I've seen concerns voiced recently that moderators should not be allowed to dominate discussions or express opposing views, etc. Please understand that unless we explicitly state we are acting as moderators, we are just participants like yourselves. Often you don't even see us doing what we do most of the time - moving personals to the GLBT Personals section, things like that. We're here to facilitate discussion, it's true, but we're also taking part in it ourselves. Please don't accuse us of not acting appropriately as moderators when we're just participants ourselves.
Thanks for reading!
