Oy! I cannot eat things that are so hot that my mouth goes numb and then I can't taste anything. ...piss me off.
Well then, if the labels can be off, then you're just going to have to test every pot. What a pity.

Hey HP, Have you ever tried one of those Marks & Spencers Steak and Kidney puddings, not a pie but a genuine suet pudding. They are yummy, especially with finely chopped (not creamed) spinach and mashed potato with a knob of butter.

Pizza
The local supermarkets used to do decent pizzas, but gradually got worse... For instance, now no anchovies, capers, parma ham available.
One still does un-topped bases (yeah, I know that home-made pizza dough is best, but it's too much work) so I went for DIY.
The omnivores got prosciutto, with capers, olives and anchovies as extras, while the veggie got anchovies plus olives and capers.
No complaints - and cheaper than store-bought.
I'll do this again - and, with experience, better still.
PS Small scale try-outs (for luncheon) used slices of granary bread as bases. They worked too.

Cold weather comfort food: Pot roast with gravy, sourdough biscuits and peas. Solid, warming stuff!

A three cheese fondue made with cheddar, parmesan and goat cheese mixed with brown ale and Loozianna hot sauce; with new potato chunks, beef sausage pieces, broccoli florets, cauliflower and french bread chunks to dip in it all washed down with brown ale.

Loozianna hot sauce? Pretty good, but the best hot sauce in the world is Cholula. Nothing beats it on a Southwestern omelet with fresh tortillas. Where I live hot sauces are a religion not a condiment.

Cholula, huh? Now that's one I gotta try. I see it's made with Pequin and Arbol chilies which are well up there on the Scoville scale.

It's also great in Gumbo and Shrimp Creole, for true. (Just a local joke for NOLAs out there.)

While Tabasco is my go-to seasoning hot sauce, when it comes to decorating my scramble for breakfast, turn that wooden Cholula bottle top. NOM!

I use both. Glad to know another Cholula aficionado.

Last nights dinner was sesame chicken on fried rice. Also had an Braeburn apple.
This morning for breakfast-dark chocolate almond milk, and Mozart Kugel so far...

Not yet, CD, mostly because my nearest M&S is bloody miles away and in a tricky place to park the car. But next time I'm there I will give it a go.
Thanks for the tip.

And very tasty too, although I make the assumption that the biscuits are some sort of bread?

A quick bread of sorts, though using sourdough makes them much less quick. I'm not sure what that sort of thing goes by in the UK. Muffins, perhaps? Or possibly scones?

Shrimp and Corn Chowder with homemade herb bread (Both are my grandmother's recipes)
(It’s cold tonight and I felt like cooking.)

Cobblers.
I mean that they are called cobblers!

Cheesy bacony pasta-y thing. A family favourite (named by my eldest when he was little). Strips of smoked bacon tried with crushed chillis and spring onions, couple of tins of tomatoes, basil and pepper, simmered for half an hour, then mixed with pasta shells and baked in the oven with a melted cheese topping. Nom.

Hi Good Witch!
I had poached eggs in broth on rice. It was actually fairly tasty and very quick to make since I had already made everything but the poached eggs.
