The Dec. 2012 electric bill is 50% lower then Dec. 2011, let's see what the Jan. bill will be like.

Not snowing right now but this is Winter.......

I am going to cross my fingers for a few 90 Deg. days in Feb.

Once I start working I need to build my savings up again for starters so I can at least something for when that time comes. Furthermore, w/ my sweetie's EMT schedule right now and esp. once he moves up there, our weekend could be in the middle of the week depending on his shift(s). It's going to take adjusting to but I suspect within the next year or two (perhaps sooner) I will be moving out of my parents' house which would be great (and a relief!).
I remember what it was like when Honey and I were limited to being together only on weekends. We had a two and a half hour drive separating us and that sucked big time. Living together is so much nicer not having to say good bye anymore...

Well, I've witness some unusual winter weather but I've never seen February with any 90 degrees days. Good luck...

Smile Good night, America...

I got out and got the little bit of grocery shopping done that I need to get done. Then Honey and I went to Mimmo's for pizza tonight. We had their Sicilian pizza tonight and found it a little disappointing. The crust was more like bread way to airy and the sauce was very bland. I am not sure if it was by accident of they have changed there recipe. Oh, well......

OK, I am going to take myself on up to bed to snuggle up against Honey and get nice and warm....

So to all pleasant dream and to all a good night...

Smile Good morning, America...

So, what are you doing New Year Eve.............

It is snow flurrying here lightly. The current temperature is 26.7 degrees outside. There is a 5 to 10 mph variable breeze coming at us out of the South. We have a 20% risk of snow flurries today and tonight. Today's high will be in the high 20's. Shagly there is your tropical heat wave...

Tonight Honey and I are staying at home. I have always considered New Years Eve amateurs night. I can understand why restaurants won't people out the drinking because there is a LARGE mark up in booze. They would have to put on one hell of a dinner spread to get me out at my age I don't like being hung over the next day. We are going to stay home in our warm house in front of the TV with snacks, snuggle up, and watch the ball drop. I don't have to be concerned about drunks out on the road...

I heard back from the gentleman that wants to trade me his Mantis tiller for my portable air compressor. I have the large compressor in the garage and don't us the portable compressor. I will use the Mantis tiller to turn over my garden boxes and the flower beds up against the house. I love it when a plan comes together...

Well, I am going to head back into the kitchen and make another cup of coffee.

Tonights dinner will be boiled ham w/ cabbage, carrots, and potatoes...

I want to wish everyone a super duper great SAFE New Years Eve...

Bon Appétit...

If your on the bored side and looking for a nice side dish for Ham sandwiches, hot dogs, sausage, etc

Cowboy Campfire Beans

Prep. Time: 10 min
Inactive Prep Time: 0

Cook Time: 4 hr 30 min

Level: Easy

Serves: 12 servings

Ingredients
• 4 cups dried pinto beans
• 1 whole ham hock
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 2 red bell peppers, diced
• 1 whole onion, diced
• 2 teaspoons chili powder
• 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
• 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Hint: I like my Cast Iron Dutch Oven on top of the stove for this one. I like to use a heat diffuser on top of the burner between the pot and burner so I can cook it low and slow...

Directions
Rinse the beans under cold water, sorting out any rocks or particles. Place the beans in a stockpot with the ham hock and cover with water by 2 inches. Bring to a boil, and then reduce to a simmer. Cover the pot and simmer for 2 hours, checking occasionally to make sure the water level is fine. Add more water as needed.
Throw in the garlic, red bell peppers and onions. Cover and continue cooking for another hour or two, remembering to check the water level.
Add the chili powder, black pepper, and salt (or more to taste). Then cover and cook until the beans are lovely and tender, another 20 to 30 minutes. The liquid should be very thick and stew-like, not thin like a soup.

Shagly you'd like this one...

I thought about having a wind generator put up in my lawn as long as the U.S. Dept. of Energy pays for it, anything I can do to cut down on power sounds good to me.

Since it is 2013 I wonder if T.J. is ready to fly the nest and settle down?

Her sister seemed to do it before her but I don't think T.J. is ready for that.

Bee keeping is a side job, the bees do the work yet by having a bunch of flowering trees and plants they keep stuff pollinated.

It's a quick way to work off the books kinda like the Amish do.

Now thats American.

Smile Good morning, America....

It's a cold but beautiful sunny morning here in St. Ablanys... The current temperature out on the front porch is 12.3 degrees. There is a 10 to 15 mph variable breeze coming from the WNW making those temperatures feel even colder. The high for the day is going be in the mid teens with tonight dropping down into the low single digits. During the day we run a 20% chance of scattered snow flurries which will increase to 30% tonight. But after all this is winter. It is a bit snowier and colder than last year thats all...

It looks like the Senate passed a deal to avert income tax hikes on all but the richest Americans and stall painful spending cuts as part of a hard-fought compromise to avoid the economically toxic “fiscal cliff.” This is only the very tip of the iceberg. There is still a lot left to do with a democratic and republican part that refuse to work with one another... My solution is if you can't work with with other members of this two party system then simply end the two party system. Everyone becomes a independent and you get elected depending on what YOUR have accomplished. No not the bad things your opponent has has but what good you have done. I find it to be a interesting and fair concept...

Today I want to work in the office a bit. One of the things I need to get done is make up a Birthday card for my very handsome Grandson. I want to keep it personal this year...

I think tonight’s supper is going to be hot roast beef sandwiches. We have a lot of leftovers that need to be eaten so they don't go bad.

OK well I am going to run for now.

I want to wish everyone a Happy New Years. Keep warm in this cold weather, keep dry, and stay safe...

Bon Appétit...

Hummmm, so when does working off the books or working under the table become right... What your doing is hiding your income so that you don't get taxed on what you really earn. Hence you are not paying your fair share of this country’s debt.

I see absolutely no comparison to the Amish Community at all... The Armish people are VERY hard working community. The Amish people are VERY self sufficient. They raise their own food, have their own farms, have their own hospitals, make their own clothing, they don't take much from society at all. Yes, these proud people pay state sales tax and federal income tax. They are not looking for a free ride. These people are real Americans.

Shagly, I have two bees nest one on each end of the roof of the house. I have loads of flowering bushes and trees. I have lots of flowering gardens does that qualify me as a part time bee keeper with a nursery on the side...

I also have a pond in my yard to catch the sediment and prevent it from running into Lake Champlain. In this pond there are fish. These fish breed in that pond so hence I must also own a fish hatchery...

I'm sure if I think more I probably have a couple of more business I didn't know I own here... I am sure I can come up with enough businesses here to get a tax exempt status...

I'm sorry dude but what you are doing strictly benefits you alone and shifts the debt of this country to the true Americans. The one’s that aren't looking for every little tax loop hole they can find to cheat on paying their fair share. Those people are willing to pay their fair share to keep this great country going. You are taking more than your far share and giving back way less than what you should be...!

What you are doing is not only illegal but also immoral and deceitful. Each year I pay my taxes on EVERY THING I earn. Including the items I purchase on line. I can sleep every good each night...

I’m not special there are many of us true Americans out here…

Since I found a free grant from uncle Sam for farming and agriculture.

Bees make honey and I could start selling honey with the free money Uncle Sam is giving away.

Of course it has a Republican twist to it, I don't think Jaded is too happy about it.
