It's better for everyone that way anyhow..like planet earth needs some fucked up little retards running around simply because their broken idiot father wanted to replicate and conned some poor woman to climb into bed with him. It wouldn't be fair to anyone involved so fuck it....not worth my hassle ya know?

I didn't even realize what I was and had been doing for years until a few weeks back. 10 years as an adult to figure out a 20 year old behavior pattern, it's hard to see the forest when all the trees are blocking your view sometimes.
Fixing shit always takes a LOT more time than breaking it does. It can be a satisfying process though, and it's good to see that you have a strong sense of self-awareness. Honestly, that's light years ahead of where most people are. You may not feel that you're in a good place now, in general, but keep working at it, and you'll get there. You'll have back-slides for sure, but don't beat yourself up about it too much.

It sounds like you've got at least a semblance of a plan.

Thanks for the support man, and yea while it may sound downer I'm really not. I just realize that the whole wife/kids/volvo fantasy for me is exactly that a fantasy.

So I'm just focusing my efforts in life on my crafts (glass blowing/bladesmithing) and getting my cabin out in the sticks built. Things could be a whole lot worse

Self-awareness can be a bitch, but it's the best way to be. Nothing "down" about working on yourself and realizing what you need out of life. That's the most amazing thing about it, knowing who you are, and saying fuck off to people who expect otherwise from you.

The whole american dream fantasy doesn't work for most people anyways, so why settle for being miserable? If I wasn't such a bonafide city boy, I'd probably have a house in the hills myself.

As much as a misanthrope as I can be at times, I still have to be around large groups of people, and tall buildings. It brings me a lot of comfort.

Which does not mean what you think it does.

"Just" a theory

Creationist and Intelligent design proponents often like to describe the theory of evolution as just a theory. This relies on equivocating the common usage of the term theory (meaning "idea" or "guess") with the scientific meaning. Theories are the single highest level of scientific achievement and nothing is just a theory - that would be like saying Bill Gates is just a multibillionaire. Additionally, one might say that the notion of evolution is "just a theory" in the same way that Cell Theory and the Theory of Gravitation (fundamental principles of biology and physics, respectively) are "just theories."

This argument played out with hilarious ramifications in the recent decision of the Florida State Board of Education to teach evolution as a "scientific theory." Apparently, the creationists on the Florida SBOE thought that this was a "compromise" — by making evolution a "scientific theory" at law, they thought, it would weaken the position of evolution. After all, then it would be "just a theory," right?[1] Wrong! This "compromise" actually puts evolution on the exactly right footing — at the highest tier of science — and ensures that students will be taught about what the term "scientific theory" really means, hopefully eventually drawing the sting of the colloquial meaning confusion.[2]

The ancient, leprous town where mongrel throngs
Chant to strange gods, and beat unhallowed gongs
In crypts beneath foul alleys near the shore.
The rotting, fish-eyed houses leered at me
From where they leaned, drunk and half-animate,
As edging through the filth I passed the gate
To the black courtyard where the man would be.

The dark walls closed me in, and loud I cursed
That ever I had come to such a den,
When suddenly a score of windows burst
Into wild light, and swarmed with dancing men:
Mad, soundless revels of the dragging dead—
And not a corpse had either hands or head!

The anti-religion bigots are really targeting the First Amendment lately. They seem to be using this "evolution" thing, which has NOTHING to do with politics, as a litmus test to attempt to disqualify otherwise excellent legislators from office.

Its shameful and un-American in the extreme, but worst of all is the major media's seeming complicity in this bizarre effort.

Making having at least a little intelligence a litmus test for office is un-American?

I can not fathom how anyone in congress can deny evolutionary theory. For proof positive, all they have to do is look around the chamber.

The problem seems to be that humans have created God in their own image and not the other way around.
Now what about a pantheon of Gods who exist in another dimension into which we cannot see... and furthermore these Gods picked a planet, Earth to us, and populated it. It took 6 billion years, the equivalent of 6 days in their dimension to get to this point and these Gods are on R&R for the weekend now.

Does this seem like a better scenario to you F/W?

If it has nothing to do with politics, then why do those legislators apparently feel obliged to have a publicly stated position on it?

so you think its shameful and un-American for people to criticize a politician for discussing evolution

yet you also think evolution has nothing to do with politics

you seem more upset that a public figure is being criticized ...then for that same public figure discussing you're opposed to him discussing

I truly marvel at your ability to talk out of both sides of your mouth
