Question
I'm new the on going of being an author, but I do have a question? How long does it usually take for a pending approval to be approved for a story submission? I'm sure this is covered somewhere but I seem to have missed it somewhere. Will someone answer this for me?

Welcome to the madhouse.
Usually a story posts in 3 days but, yes, there is always a butt.
Lately is is tending to five day because of the Holidays we presume. But, again with the butt, being a brand new shiny author, Laurel, the lady who checks all the stories will give you a closer look. so, figure on 6 at present. |

Stories take a few days to be approved on this site, it can vary a bit. Other threads below do ask about this and one thing you have to be careful of is not to keep going and checking on your pending and pressing submit again, as this moves you to the back of the queue.
Welcome to the Hangout! I really like it here, it's lots of fun (although there are some stra-ange people. If anyone's answer seems a bit odd, check their other posts and you soon learn to see if there's a kind of pattern to them).

There is a somewhat outdated FAQ located at this link.
For story submissions, it says:

It's been noted at other threads that it's been taking something like five days for stories to post. There is only one person, Laurel, who vets and posts the stories, and so during contests or holidays or any high-volume time, it may take longer. |

A huge backlog of stories seems to have come out the last couple of days. Mine had only been submitted for 4 days, and there were quite a lot of stories above it in EC (at least 13). Though I don't know if that means they were submitted later. Maybe they just get put on in random order, once they are approved.
