Things I have learned about rope...
Buying it off a roll by the metre is far more effective for my needs than pre packaged lengths sold on the internet.
It's ok to wash them in the machine, but use knicker bags to hold each one separately. (I made the rookie mistake of just tossing them in the wash any old how just once, but it was enough)
Dying your own rope is harder than it looks.
Always learn a knot you can adjust without untying the whole damn thing.
A slip knot over hitch or half hitch has become my go to anchor knot.
Don't put that rough hemp rope directly on skin unless you're on holiday for more than a week.
I love rope for the versatility and effectiveness. I've seen and admired some wonderfully artistic knots and elaborate decorative harnessess etc, but it's not for me.
Watching someone's face and hands as they tie me up/down makes me wet.
