This is a fine idea and you should stick to it.

Consider less extremes, more middle ground. Maybe she doesn't best him always or even all that much but he recognizes she pushes him/challenges him more than any woman has. How you handle the reveal to her where she actually "is" could be quite fascinating.
I don't know I'd go with an amazon chaser or whatever. Thrust them together not by choice. If shes not the kind hed go for and he underestimates her, you've got a surprise for him in store. Why show "girls can be tough too" when you can have him struggle to come to that realization/go through denial rather than have it hammered in by her times being better/winning whatever. She doesnt have to be either the dominator OR the damsel. She can be in between or even shade one way or another as she comes to like him back (and it can succeed or fail as you see fit)

Nothing is cliche unless you write it cliche. How many superhero stories have movies redone successfully? Plenty.
Probably save the bedroom until after some mutual attraction build up. You could write it as shes a goddess in the bedroom and he cant keep up/get enough of it but then her other non-damsel-y qualities become less important. If shes awesome all around, hes gonna wanna fuck her so that part is already laid out for you. Then you can make her however you feel she needs to be in the sack too.
The only suggestion I will make that you shouldn't deviate from is to write it as you see fit. Don't worry too much about the right setting, if its cliche, how its all going to work out in the end, etc.
This is the time to write. Then you review. Then you edit. Nothing comes out perfect no matter how much planning you do.
Going by just how much thought youve put in to your scenario, I can't see how you'd fail in your writting because you obviously think about it as you go along.
Your biggest failure will not be a choice you make (setting, character, motivation, etc) but letting doubts keep you from crafting it.
There is an audience for it. Hell, I thought the idea was good and Im not a fan of the category myself.
Think of who these people are. Get to know them. Put them to paper. Stick 'em in some conflicts and sticky situations.
Then enjoy the votes and comments for a job well done.
