His eyes popped open and he turned his face up looking into the eyes of his wife. He just laid there and they stared at each other for a minute until he turned and sat on the edge of the bed while Brooke stayed laying down. "Well now you see it. Nothing more to say. This is what me and her both want."
His wife looked at him still with an angry look but now her eyes were more watery. Instead of yelling like they were expecting she just spoke with a broken voice. "W-why?(sob) W-what c-caused (sob) all of this to (sob) ever happen?"
Tom never got up off the bed. He just sat and looked at her and listened. "It was a mix. The difference in our schedules. Never seeing you. Even when we were together you didn't want to be touched. The same thing with Brooke. You ignored her as well. And we found comfort in each other."
