Note to self: Do not call Brinks guy an asshole

I know you're baiting me because if you did that to me in real life you'd be on the floor right now clutching your kidney.

that's what all the the keyboard warriors say. how does it feel to be totally unoriginal?

Sounds like my secretary...boy o boy...if I didn't know you were teasing you would be in big trouble right now;)

Like KR actually calling the Brinks guy an asshole...too funny

If you were an employer, as you claim to be, you would have a clue as to the options of paying employees. I have been an employer myself, I still am in a partnership that demands such knowledge of things. I know what I am talking about.

Cash payment of employees does not make much sense for legal businesses of much size or sophistication.

In the age of computers, record keeping is much easier with checks or electronic transfers. Your books are more likely to be accurate, which is important for IRS purposes, important for businesses that borrow money, and important for businesses with more than one owner.

Cash is great for payments under the table and payments to independent contractors with whom you do not have an ongoing relationship. It may work as payroll for small business with few employees; it's the exception, though, and not the norm for payroll.

At least you admit that some places do pay cash:rolleyes:

I added personal and professional anecdotes to this convo and this all you can come up with? No surprising.

I never disputed anything about employers paying *some* employees cash in *some* cases but there is no way in hell this would ever become normal practice for legitimate businesses. Not only that, the contention I have is that his claim of "cash and carry" wasn't even close to his original claim which iDude already pointed out.

I am not that good at bullshiting when it comes to what I do. Though, fact can be stranger that fiction because I work my ass off whenever I can or have to.

I have always worked at least 2 jobs since age 18. Even when I was in the Navy, I moonlited. Why do you think I am not here for long periods and often post at odd hours?

I have never been a cook or restaraunt manager, though I did wait on tables at one place, part-time, for about 10 years at night. For a few months, I did valet parking part-time as well. Hard work is all I know. In between all that, I was a skirt chaser and a drunkard. The later, of which, I no longer partake in because I am too old for that shit now and concerned about my health these days. I have no children and no woman in her right mind would marry me, so I gave up on that little little dream.

These days, I am in charge of maintenance for a relatively new property company that owns most of its' properties. We have 40 employees, a few are part-time. I am senior to the office staff as well as the maintenance employees. During the abscence of my boss/owner of business, I am in charge. Sometimes we outsource or act as a mediator or contractor....depending on the situation. Though we try to keep all work available to our employees on payroll in all fairness. We are partnered and partially backed, financially, by a parent company I was working for full time prior to deciding to join this spinoff company. On ocassion, I go back to Texas and do some work for the parent company in a supervisory or specialty situation because I am very familiar with their work policies. I have certifications in electrical, plumbing, swimming pools, heating and a/c.....it is all a requirement for my position as Lead Maintenance Superviser. I work weird hours, including being on call at times for some really stupid shit. Some weeks, I work as little as 40 hours.

My 'second' job now is one that I have had, seasonally, for about 11 years. And that one is light landscaping (mowing lawns, planting bushes or small trees or flower beds for curb appeal or sometimes trimming large trees...whatever the situation calls for). My boss bought my little company, while I agreed to oversee it from afar by phone or directly...it goes hand in hand with working on houses or apartments.....for that, I get a percentage and the option to take it over personally, should start it to fail or my current contract w/employer expires. I employee 2 seasonal employees in TX with that one, and 3 employees in GA. Sometime, late at night, I rack my brains over equipment costs and stock inventory...also what and when to order stuff from whatever supplier. I also do the scheduling and decide who is best qualified to do what.

I am doing exactly what I want to do, however, I really am getting too old to keep up the pace. So, sometime soon, I have to let go of some of my duties.

Now that I am done with your little Q and A and your 'show me' mentality, I have shit to do. Later.

Also, I was responding to BND, not you, before you butted in w/your BS .

My guess is that give or take a detail or augmentation or two, this is honest and accurate. Personally, I enjoyed reading/knowing it. Thanks for taking the time for it.

Maybe the Twatters were right and JRWTF is really killswitch. No one could spin a tale of yard maintenance like that mofo!

i just came in here to tell you i watched some porn last night where the chick totally looked like you.

You should have exploded his head with your awesome. It's not like he was going to give you your card back for anything short of a BJ anyway you may as well have enjoyed seeing if you can peel flesh from bone with expletives hurled at him.

This thread started out lame, but then it descended into the bottomless pit of unbelievably uninteresting boringinity.

Hard work is to be commended always. While I still find your 'story' suspicious, that's my problem and not yours. Nevertheless, it wasn't fair of my to jump down your throat, so I apologize for that.

That is commendable. Apology accepted. Thank you.

I missed this. However, thank you. And you are welcome. I feel somewhat humbled.

JRW never said bussiness was heading that way, he said his was considering it.

Luke just looks for an argument wherever he can and puts words in peoples mouths.

If you want to suck up to him then fine...but all I said was at least he admitted that some employers do pay cash...

^^^^This^^^^

Also, my apologies to KRC for unintentionally fucking up her thread. Though I suspect she is laughing her ass off about now.
