When faced with a disease you do not understand.

Uhm..........thanks. But I uhmm...did all that before starting this thread.

I did a LOT of stuff in regards to Lupus. I NEVER do the 'interntet.google thing" or whatever folks do to pretend to be something they are not.

sometimes doing your own research can save your life or life or others, the more you learn about a disease the better you are able to ask questions and make informed choices. There are a lot of medical centers who post their research and trials on the internet. Don't be a fool, use the tools at your disposal.

Oh snap. Tell me I'm not the only one who got this...

But wait - diff. time zones?

You did not get it because you "think" everyone else live in the make-belive- TV world. Ask Merc. Merc is the only thing closest thing to reality you have any hope of clinging to.

We are waiting for your DVD version of it.

Honestly, I am in shock. As is True to my nature, I will somehow come to accept this.........thing/lupus..........or wtf ever folks want to call it? I mean, what choice does a person have in this case? A person has to continue living somehow........What else do we know? I gotta keep living....I am not even remotely close to retirement.

You are really being a little overdramatic here.
Do you even know which form of lupus you have yet?
You're talking death and retirement here, and you mqy not be anywhere near either.
GET THE FACTS BEFORE YOU ORGANISE YOUR FUNERAL!

I'd start there, and then read through all the professional literature I could find on the disease. If something I was reading was over my head, I'd google the definitions and ask people in my life as well as here if they could explain it to me. I'd ignore people who were attacking/criticizing me. I'd focus on treatments and long-term quality of life effects of them. I'd also focus on science and not stuff like aroma therapy with no proven benefit.

The first thing you need to do is calm the fuck down.
When you're calm you need to stop and consider two things: those you have control over and those you do not.

The ones you have no control over aren't worth worrying about because what ever you do it won't make any difference.

The ones you do need your attention.

So you have Lupus. It could be worse. As pointed out you could have ALS, or cancer or Alzheimer's or a flesh eating virus. But you got lucky and contracted something that is manageable and treatable.

I take it this is the first time you've ever had to face your own mortality. It's not an easy thing to do. But sooner or later we are all going to have to face it. Buck up me lad.

Yes. Phase 3. Not over dramatic.

And at what point in this thread did I even remotely or even hint at death and retirement? Your words, not mine.

YOU are talking about a funeral. I am not.

Not my first time to deal with mortality. Though your first time to think so or to view it in words here from me.

Seriously though, you somehow think Lupus has a connection with Alzheimers?" Damn.........that takes the cake over everything posted here.

Do you have a comprehension problem along with everything else? Or are you drunk? Either way you need to learn to read. And you're being a total ass. Quit being such a whiny little bitch and SUCK IT UP.

If this is the way you act when confronted with something on the scale of Lupus, you have really never faced that abyss.

'nuff said.

I know more about it than you dumbfucks excuse of human beings know.

I am surprised even you do not know what is going on in this thread. This is MY thread..but, of course, you do not realize that. Even so, fighting a disease suck as Lupus is mostly knowledge of it, NOT that internet shit you so solemly base your dumbass knowledge on.

I comprehend I have a disease i do not know how to combat. It is NOT whining if you want answers on how to combat something you cannot see. I do, however, understand you are afraid to face me in person. Just like your buddies RorN and pointless.

You found out today right?
Thinking I would be reading at webmd are looking for information on the net. This is last place I would be.

WTF planet are you on?

You are asking ME if I have have a comprehension problem after all the BS I been through this month with several doctor, clinics, hospitals, and several folders full of blood, skin, and x-ray tests?

I hope this is a joke.

because lupus is not a joke.

Not a joke. You appear to be the only one in my thread who understands what lupus means.

folders full of blood? sounds messy. you should try tuperware or something.

Today? No. Today, actually Yesterday, was the third opinion from a doctor I never met before.

If you are looking for a family history of lupus, then this is not the right forum.

My family has no known history of it. Lupus is relatively new, knowledge wise, in the past decade or so.

Stop being an ass.
A lot of people know EXACTLY what lupus is
What you are doing here, is over-dramatising an illness you so far know very little about.
Get knowledge. Get information. Get treatment.
And don't fucking talk about dying and retirement and endofthefuckingworld scenarios until you do.

Uhmmmm.........You disappoint me. Reread this thread.

For all you non-drama queens: Please Reread this thread and PM me with comprehensive, positive, and knowledgeable experience on Lupus. No one posting in this thread to me has absolutely no knowledge on this matter.

My cousin was diagnosed with lupus over 20 years ago.. it's not the nightmare disease it used to be... and while there is no cure there have been incredible advances in treatment

don't freak, you're not dead and you're not alone
