Given that it's supposed to be an approximation of a language unpronounceable by humans, I'd say goofing up a little is inevitable.

A Big Dead Bird for Dinner!

Turkey Day 2011
Thursday, November 24, 2011

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0l5XHrXn3qQ

Uncle Dave's Grace - Lou & Peter Berryman

Thanksgiving day, Uncle Dave was our guest
Who reads the Progressive which makes him depressed
We asked Uncle Dave if he’d like to say grace
A dark desolation crept over his face

Thanks he began as he gazed at his knife
To poor Mr. Turkey for living his life
All crowded and cramped in a great metal shed
Where life was a drag then they cut off his head

Thanks he went on for the grapes in my wine
Picked by sick women of seventy nine
Scrambling all morning for bunch after bunch
Then brushing the pesticide off of their lunch

Thanks for the stuffing all heaped on my fork
Shiny with sausage descended from pork
I think of the trucks full of pigs that I see
And can’t help imagine what they think of me

Continuing, I’d like to thank if you please
Our salad bowl hacked out of tropical trees
And for this mahogany table and chair
We thank all the jungles that used to be there

For cream in our coffee and milk in our mugs
We thank all the cows full of hormones and drugs
Whose calves are removed at a very young age
And force-fed as veal in a minuscule cage

Oh thanks for the furnace that heats up these rooms
And thanks for the rich fossil fuel it consumes
Corrupting the atmosphere ounce after ounce
But we’re warm and toasty and that is what counts

I’m grateful he said for these clothes on my back
Lovely and comfy and cheap off the rack
Fashioned in warehouses noisy and cold
In China by seamstresses seven years old

And thanks for my silverware setting that shines
In memory of miners who died in the mines
Worn down by the shoveling of tailings in piles
Whose runoff destroys all the rivers for miles

We thank the reactors for our chandelier
Although the plutonium won’t disappear
For hundreds of decades it still will be there
But a few more Chernobyls and who’s gonna care

Sighed Uncle Dave though there’s more to be told
The wine’s getting warm and the bird’s getting cold
And with that he sat down as he mumbled again
Thank you for everything, amen

We felt so guilty when he was all through
It seemed there was one of two things we could do
Live without food in the nude in a cave
Or next year have someone say grace besides Dave

Arctic Report Card 2011

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdD71tUllUY

The northern polar region’s climate has materially changed over the past five years, a team of 121 scientists from 14 nations
concludes in a December 1 Arctic report card. Compared with 2006 and earlier, they note, the Arctic is warmer and less icy.

http://www.sciencenews.org/view/gene...for_the_warmer

Even on a continental level, changes in atmospheric circulation patterns at the top of the world can affect the intensity of winter
weather well into the lower latitudes. Wind patterns that repeated during the past two winters – itself unusual, according to the report –
brought relatively warm temperatures to regions of the Arctic, including Greenland, while subjecting the eastern US with cold temperatures
and heavy snowfall.

Robin Hood - The Little People

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVfw4YLRR-Q

Robin, Marian and Friar Tuck are taking a trip through Ireland, and one night they stay at the house of a family
of superstitious farmers. At first dismissing the family's tales of "the little people"--leprechauns--the trio
is later astounded to actually come across some of the "wee folk".

Bob Pegg/Mr.Fox ~ Mr.Fox (rare)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkVyx2TApZ

I'll tell you tale of Mr. Fox, how he came courting me,
He was the smartest fellow you could ever hope to see.
Now Foxy came to our town in the springtime of the year,
And he said I was the fairest of any young girl here.

My Dad said I should marry him, that I should be his bride,
And I saw me walking up the aisle with Foxy by my side,
But Foxy was a bit too sly, and I didn't trust his smile,
So I told him change the wedding day and put it by awhile.

This didn't suit old Mr. Fox, he said I'd rue the day,
He pulled his hat down over his eyes and went upon his way,
But unbeknown to Foxy, I'd followed through the wood,
Till I came across the clearing where his fine old mansion stood.

I hadn't been there but a while, when I heard a scream and shout,
It was Foxy with a woman a-knocking her about.
I hadn't been there but a while when I heard a curse and swear,
It was Foxy with a woman, held fast by her hair.

He dragged her through the bushes, he dragged her through the trees,
It tore my heart in two to see her pleading on her knees.
He dragged her up the marble steps, he dragged her through the hall,
I followed close behind them and hid against the wall.

As they were going up the stairs, the woman gave a wail,
She tore away from Fox and clasped her hand around the rail.
Foxy took his knife with a blow both sharp and sweet,
The hand was severed from the wrist and dropped down at my feet.

The night was black, the night was cold, no pathway could I find,
But I ran through the trees as if the Devil was behind.
The forest it was dark and thick and pricked with many a thorn,
But I ran through the trees as if I'd never see the dawn.

The very next day old Foxy came to see if we'd be wed.
I told that I'd had a dream as I lay in my bed,
I told him that I'd seen a house in the middle of the wood,
And anyone who went inside, could never come to good.

Old Foxy turned his back on me, he turned as if to leave,
But I took him by the arm and plucked the hand from out my sleeve.
Foxy gave a yelp and then he gave a squeal,
And he ran as if the hounds of hell were crying at his heel.

In the middle of the forest where the lark and linnet sing,
The dogs of the town got Fox inside a ring,
They tore him limb from limb, they tore him hair from hair,
And his flesh it was eaten by the birds of the air.

Stick Insect Hatching

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiV-DsfoJwA

A creepy-crawly insect known as the “tree lobster” was thought to be extinct for 80 years, then —
surprise! — researchers found a small colony living near an Australian volcano.

The Lord Howe Island walking sticks are called “tree lobsters” because of their hard exoskeletons,
and because they look just a little bit like a lobster.

Cop kicks girl in face

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l75R0Cv3zsg

The video shows a woman (hancuffed) sitting on a curb.

She tries to kick the police officer's shin, with her bare foot, but he moves his leg out of the way,
and he swiftly kicks her in the face and her head slams into the sidewalk from the force of the kick.

The Lincoln police officer standing trial for allegedly kicking a handcuffed woman
at Twin River in 2009.

31 Jan 2012

Convicted Lincoln Police officer Edward Krawetz has filed a motion for a new trial
following a guilty verdict for assaulting a handcuffed woman outside Twin River casino in Lincoln.

A pre-sentencing report is due on March 5th with the sentencing scheduled for March 19th.
Harwood said his motion for a new trial could be argued as early as mid-February.

March 19, 2012

Edward Krawetz gets 8 years of probation.

Officer Edward Krawetz, 47, was given a 10-year suspended sentence with probation. He was found guilty in January
of felony battery with a dangerous weapon for kicking Donna Levesque, of Uxbridge, Mass. The incident occurred
as Levesque sat on a curb outside Twin River waiting for a patrol car to pick her up for booking on a disorderly
conduct charge on May 31, 2009.

Assistant Attorney General Stephen A. Regine said the town of Lincoln has paid
more than $100,000 to settle civil claims involving Krawetz.

Master of Pastry and Confections- Provides all the sensations a mouth could desire, all the classic flavors,
presented in a way that intrigues and delights- and gratifies the desired thrill
of tapping the brittle candy shell, and the satisfaction of a explosion of glittering shards.
crack crack Sound! And a reveal! (a little mystery to discover)
Sights, tastes, sensations- What is inside that magical smooth glass-like apple?
External? Ooo pretty! (art, and decorative edible, chic touches) A sweet begining, candy, for an adult who likes to be indulged.
Internal? Variety! Mmmm, luxury, piquant-ness, spicy-ness, refreshment and a bit of sweet home-y coziness on the tongue.

James Randi: Scientists Fooled by a Match Box Trick

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbwWL5ezA4g

"Scientists are instinctive doubters who employ a rigorous method to zero in on the truth, but they
aren’t necessarily trained to expect deception by subjects and collaborators.
-James Randi
The Amazing Column/ Wired

Any magician worth his salt will tell you that the smarter an audience, the more easily fooled they are. That’s a very counter-
intuitive idea. But it’s why scientists, for example, get in trouble with psychics and such types. Scientists aren’t trained to
study something that’s deceptive. Did you ever hear of a sneaky amoeba? I don’t think so. You know, they don’t get
together on the slide and go, “Hey, let’s fool the big guy.”

The Island President Trailer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryhr_T7cRnY

blurb-
Jon Shenk's The Island President tells the story of President Mohamed Nasheed of the Maldives, a man confronting a problem
greater than any other world leader has ever faced—the literal survival of his country and everyone in it.

(Manhattan NYC, is as low at sea level as the Maldives!)

http://theislandpresident.co.uk/

Writing in The Times, Vikas Bajaj recounts how the political turmoil in the Maldives overtook “The Island President,”
a new film about how climate change is threatening that island country and the planet. Reviewing the movie, A. O. Scott
writes: “The hope that infuses this movie makes it all the more upsetting to walk out of the theater and contemplate
a looming disaster that the world’s leaders seem unable to prevent.”
