Jake was obsessed with World of Warcraft. Ok not obsessed...maybe a little. But he had an excuse, he was in a top end guild working on world first level raiding progression. His blood elf warrior Alana was a force to be reckoned with. He did the best damage in the raids with her and everyone whispered him when he walked through major cities. He was a star in the game.
In real life he was nothing special. Just a guy who worked at a restaurant waiting tables. He had a small circle of friends and they all played WoW with him. It was like in the virtual world he was awesome, but in real life it was just a disappointment.
Then one night everything changed. He had left the game on in order to have his automatic program gather fish for him. It was the best way to farm cooking mats for raids to do it while he slept.
At some point during the night though a heavy thump on the floor jerked him awake. He glanced at the computer and saw the computer screen was on, but the screen was a blank white. In the light of the screen he saw a large shadow in the room. A person.
His pulse began to race and he panicked, thinking he was being robbed. He scrambled up and clicked on the light to see who it was in his room. That's when he saw her.
Alanna.
"Holy shit!"
