Yes, I thought that they would :(. You could try uploading them as attachments straight from your computer, or you could try a different picture hosting site, although some of the ones that people use in Am Pics, for example, are full of adverts, and may have malware/spyware issues, so you would have to choose carefully.

To attach the pics using the icons up top when you go to make a post means resizing the pics appropriately....Lit standard size limit :rolleyes:

I'll see what I can do when they remove ALL of them in the end...I still have the pics saved in a file. :)

I love this thread, thank you. (And your avatar is beautiful.) I think the cello is the sexiest instrument to watch someone play. The shape of the cello is unmistakably feminine. The sound is beautiful, and the placement of the instrument between the legs of the cellist, resting back against him, and his arms wrapped around it. It's just beautiful to watch. It's also a little dirty, what with the f-holes, fingerboard, nut, and tailpiece. ;)

My favorite cellist is Mischa Maisky. He completely owns the cello when he plays it, and he does so with such passion. At the end of Fire Dance my heart is beating so fast; I can hardly breathe.

I like that the cello is played with a bow, which is composed of taut strands of hair. I like how the bow is dragged across the strings- sometimes slow and gently in long motions; sometimes jerked very quickly back and forth in short bursts. There's something very sexy about that, especially when a few strands of hair break as a result. And the other hand of the cellist is busy pressing his fingers into the strings, holding them against the fingerboard as he massages it until he's played the note to his satisfaction, and then releases it once again. Yes. All of it, yes.

As far as other cellists, I also like Adam Hurst very much. His music has Middle Eastern, Indian, and Gypsy influences. And he usually wears a hat when he plays, which I appreciate. :)

I'm glad that you like the thread, and that you found it, as it's not easy to locate in such a fast moving board as this one.

The Bach Suite is one of my favourites too. It's always interesting how different 'cellists play it in different ways.

The feminine aspect of the 'cello itself which you have described is one of the reasons I am so strongly attracted to it. I think it does rather appeal to me as a man for that reason, in addition, of course, to the sound which it makes.

Having five strings helped in the second one, although it's still very well executed.

The first one is my favourite of the two though, because it's such an intimate performance. Really well executed and natural too. I abosolutely loved it.
