mods were appointed on a ''who i like'' basis, rather than a ''who will do the job well'' basis.

mods played stupid games and abused their powers to the max.
now lots of people don't feel certain that PMs/blogs won't be read, private information won't be spread, nasty games won't be played, etc, etc, etc.

even if some things never happened, only a fool would take anyone's word for it that it didn't.

...but i prefer the gb. the whole idea of mods telling a group of adults that they must be polite? lame! i say the fewer rules the better.

Maybe things have changed I don't know I can't get in to find out. *L* last time I tried to get in to PM a friend I couldn't do it got some kind of 'bugger off' message. Can't remember exactly what it was but I've not bothered trying to get in since.

I didn't like how it was run, not at all and when I offered opinion when it was asked for it was ignored. It seemed that the site which was fun and 'nice' on top was not that at all when you got right down to it. I didn't like that two-facedness that I perceived.

and what about here? I don't believe for one minute some of you lot don't post the content of pms - capture screen shots, share personal information - I've had my eyes open here and been accused of various stuff myself, even - no, especially by you. Like being an alt, or something like that, an arse-kisser and the usual crap simply because I chose to make up my own mind about Holy Devil. And thanks for the advice re pm's but I used to run a site and know a little about how they're run. Each is run differently, and depending on choice of mods and what powers you allot those mods. As an owner, I would never have chosen to read personal content even if that were possible - I don't know since it's never something I ever considered. I also never gave access to any mods to that kind of control. Quite honestly, the people over there don't strike me as the kind who'd want to be opening anyone else's pm's even if they can.

again, this could happen on any site and it is my understanding that since it has been under new management' this kind of drama is non-existent. And this site is full of people playing nasty games - like Sean's attack on PSF aka Morli just the other night. Like the racists and the vile things people call eachother over political disagreements. As I said, this site is ok for me since I can place the people with nothing of interest to say or offensive things to say on ignore. I enjoy my time here. Lint is possibly too tame for the drama-lovers. I don't pretend to know all the undercurrents of any site - certainly not of Lint since I'm only there a relatively small amount of my time, all I can say is that is makes me feel welcome and there are good people there too. Perhaps its because I'm not oldschool Lit, so don't have any baggage or stressed allegiances to have to come to terms with.

Well that did happen here once when Laurel made the mistake of giving alexandrahhh supermod powers, but that was years ago.

Caused a lot of problems too, just like it does at Lint today.

Posting a pm you recieved is far different from assuming you are communicating with someone in private when in reality at Lint you aren't and the mods or whoever is in the gang has access to your PM box hun.

It's bizarre and totally creepy.

How would you feel if I for example could open your pm box at any time and read whatever you wrote and recieved?


Calabama and maybe Brozeage will say it never happens but thats bullshit and we all know it.

Least anyone with Vbulletin mod experience knows it.

I would like to point out that I said Dryer Lint would not survive a year and that they were full of corrupt people which is why I never, ever, ever asked for an invite there, or even browsed there more than a few times.

I said that Dryer Lint would not make it because the people who ruined the General Board left the GB to form Lint but they would fail because they took all their mental shortcomings with them.

I predicted this right off the bat because I know people.

Oh, probably about a year now. I kinda gave up lint when I finished doing the Secret Santa.

I tried to access lint only a few weeks ago though. That's when I got the access denied type message and decided they must have moved things again and I'd not been re-invited.
