Stephanie pulled her hair into a high ponytail. It was the first day of college at Harvard University. She was slightly excited, slightly bummed out because it wasn't like she was going to college for the hell of going to college but because she had a mission. Sometimes, she really disliked being a slayer. Her family had been in the slaying business for centuries. In fact, her parents had been recently killed by a vampire, one by the name of Victoria.

She came from a well off family, of course most people had to be well off to even afford to go to Harvard University. Stephanie Hawkins was one of those very few well off people. She pulled on her black jeans and a black top then applied her red lipstick.

"Perfect." She said. "Ready to slay any blood sucker who comes into close contact with you."

Stephanie grabbed her bags then loaded them into the limo before driving to Harvard University. Once she arrived there, she stared at the huge building before going to the main desk to find out what her dorm room number was.

As always, Edward was first to arrive at the presitigious school. The cool, fall breeze complimented the surroundings of the old building, giving it slightly a gothic atmosphere. The sky was a murky grey, a blessed count on his part. Noisy chatter entered his ears, followed by thoughts and an occassional "Wow..that guy is hot!!" filtered through as well.

Bella was not here. He had hoped to feel her warm arms wrap around his neck, her radiant kisses simmering against his stone-cold lips. He had to stop this. They needed their space, she needed to live her own life!

Casually walking to the administrator's offices, he caught a scent. A wild one. The scent was deffinately human, but dangerous. A sour taste filled his nostrils, flaring with rage. He couldn't read the owner's mind, perhaps he had mistaken an immortal for mortal? No. It was deffinately human, that was certain. Worse; it was coming from where he had to be.

"Think, Edward, Think!" His mind yelled, his body in a defensive stance. It was a Godsend that Bella had not arrived, this scent was unpredictable, unsteady. "Just who are you..?" He whispered under his breath. His body moving slowly, steadily making it's way up the leaf-covered stairs.

Her eyes flicked over to Edward, not really recognizing him as a 'cold one' but a really pale mortal. Stephanie's one downfall had been that she could never sense when a vampire is near, it was due to her great great great grandparents mistakes, falling for a gypsy then breaking her heart, therefore they'd had a curse put on the whole family, not being able to sense a vampire only to know that there was one in the vicinity.

Therefore, she could sense there was a vampire near, but the likely hood of it being so close was too ironic. Besides, there were tons of students walking in and out of the administrators office. A vampire could have been anybody. She did also, notice how he fled from the room.

"Your dorm is 15a, in the Freshmen dorm entitled New Bloods. Your roommate should be up shortly." the secretary said

"Thanks." Stephanie said, then hauled her bags up to 15a.

Rosalie Hale

Going to the same college seemed both risky and common sense. After all with the way they drove it wasn't like they needed to go to the same college. After all with the way they drove, they could go to colleges in the same state and still arrive home in time for dinner.

Dinner, now that was an equally humorous thought. Rosalie had spent the summer clepping out of freshman courses. The last year had been a wasteland of pain, and after voting for Bella to remain human, well things had gotten quite tense.

Oddly enough her relationship with Edward had improved, and she'd spent a lot of with Esme debating what degree she should pursue this time. Foreign language, art history, literature, all seemed equally interesting and equally bland.

She finally settled on pre law, Edward had gone that route once, and it had done wonders for his sense of justice. Considering her history well she could use a better sense of justice.

At least it wasn't sunny, and her car didn't stand out. Rosalie stepped out of her car, ignored the stares, and wished things were better between her and Emmet. She wasn't even sure he had enrolled, besides considering everyone's diverse interests it was unlikely they would cross paths.

With blatent curiousity, Edward moved forward, opening the heavy oak door to the offices to check in. The stench of the one he was alarmed of, slowly became more potent; leading him straight the the source: A female. He studied her for a moment, their eyes locking briefly. He couldn't tell if she knew or not, but she definately suspected something from him.

"I guess I'll have to register in later.." He thought, ripping his cold glare away from the young girl. His stiff body walked slowly back towards the front, filling his mind with ideas why this girl could be a possible threat. Sighing softly, he made his way down the steps, counting quietly to himself, the number of rain droplets that fell from his brow. A familiar prescense clouded around him, enveloping him with a soft, smelling breeze:

Rosalie.

Edward's eyes rose from the ground, his hair matted against his forehead. For once; he was glad to see his sibling, watching her carefully scope her surroundings. It seemed, she too; was cautious around the new surroundings. Quietly picking up his pace, he walked towards the pretty blonde, flashing a crooked smile before taking place beside her.

"I wasn't expecting you here, Rosalie. I suppose Emmett will be arriving shortly?"
His message was curt, to the point. If Bella were to be in trouble; both his siblings would surely step up to the plate to help him. Ontop; she wouldn't be mad at him for taking on a possible dangerous threat alone.

Her golden eyes mirrored his own. The only real resemblance between the two. He heard the voices now- low murmers from the students walking by, questioning their relationship, noticing their enchanting beauty, how it would be impossible to be with them. At least they got the last one right. He could never leave Bella for another, as for Rosalie; she was confident she had found her match.

But then again..

Edward shook his head from the ridiculous thoughts. They were here to start over, to keep Bella safe, to make her forget Jacob's mind games. His voice growled softly at that name. Jacob Black- the werewolf, Bella's best friend. To Jacob, Bella was the world to him as she was to the Cullen's as well. He respected their friendship, but refused to give her up as anything more. It was best for both of them, to be separated. It wasn't healthy to keep making her upset, plus she had already chosen her destiny.

He had hoped she would come soon, to figure things out.

"So.. shall we get registered?" He asked, a little impatiently. The smell of the girl seemed to air out, most likely making it safe to walk in again. He held out his hand to her, gesturing the fact that it would be safer if they stuck together- at least until Emmett arrived.

Leah Clearwater

Leah growled inwardly as she walked into the hallowed halls of Harvard University. She couldn't believe Jacob had talked her into going to Harvard. He hadn't even joined! She could've sworn it was because he was trying to get rid of her.

It wasn't that bad of an idea, because she wouldn't have to be near Sam again. Sam and Emily. She felt a slight pang of hurt as she thought about him. They had been so in love and then she came along. Everything had changed when she came along because they were 'destined' for one another.Oh, she had tried to not hold contempt against her cousin, but if she was going to be honest with herself, she did hold her cousin in contempt, even though it wasn't her fault that Sam had to choose Emily.

Screw destiny

At least now, she could make a new life for herself.

Stupid Jacob, I'll get him back for this she thought miserably as she walked into the administrative office. She took a small sniff and nearly gagged. Dear god no, not bloodsuckers.

Her eyes instantly found Rosalies and she groaned. Of all the places for the Cullens to go, it had to be here, with her at Harvard.

"I'm so gonna kill Jacob for this..." she grumbled before signing up and getting her room. 15a in the new blood dormitory.

"Ironic, no?" She said to herself as she brushed out of the room.

Jasper Hale.

Jasper sighed softly as he adjusted his sunglasses a little bit. It was far too bright here. He didn't like it anywhere near as much as he had liked Rainy Forks Washington. Something about all of this sunlight was rather depressing to him. He supposed the biggest reason was being cooped in doors all of the time. He missed when he could just sit around outside and watch everyone wandering around in their normal school clothes. That was fun. Instead he was stuck inside a building all day long thinking about how much he'd like to be outside where he could just...not do a lot of the things that he was doing inside like sit in classes, and sign up for a dorm room and all of that other stuff.

He sighed softly and simply walked up to the secretary. He tried not to pay attention to her emotions and brought his hand up, placing his finger against the smooth top of the desk that she was sitting behind, a long smile on his lips as he looked at her, "Well, hello. I'm wondering where my dorm room is. Jasper Hale. I'm sure I'm on the list somewhere..."

Rosalie Hale

She gave a noncommital shrug when asked about Emmet and did her best to shield her thoughts. Especially her thoughts about Emmett, she offered a small smile as they glided to the Registar's office. Of course they had managed to hack in and get the schedules they wanted, but there were always small changes, a class that ended up being too closely scheduled to the previous one and in a building across a sunny square.

It was strange to be on east coast again, and she tried to bury the emotions of her own transformation. It seemed far away and at the same time as if it were only yesterday. She shrugged off the painful memories, and watched as Edward "dazzled" the female office staff. She flipped through a map, she laughed at the thought of any of them living in a dorm room. She'd rented a place of her own, somewhere to while away sunny hours, even as she had a hat as a precaution in her backpack.

Emmett

Smiling as he flowed through the crowd, proving far more agile than his big frame belied, the blond man moved at his leisure through the old city, his golden eyes drinking in the sights and his lips always parted in a smile. With the crowd he had a bit more freedom, particularly in a northern city where the people would rather jostle for position and remain aloofly unaware of each other than risk conversion with a stranger. With a few quick steps here and there, Emmett was able to cover impossibly large spaces unnoticed by the humans all around him… because of their own silly, self imposed isolation within the crowds.

He walked slowly through Cobb Hill Cemetery, his eyes twinkling merrily as he moved through the tree covered ground of the New Guinea Community. Oddly he quickly passed the home of Paul Revere, through Haymarket Square, and then again haunted a cemetery, this time the Granary Cemetery. As he read over the tombs and graves of Samuel Adams, John Hancock and Paul Revere, Emmett can’t help but chuckle that though the history books wrote of each of their great deeds, a backwoods Tennessee boy had achieved the one thing they couldn’t… immortality.

OK, well, Rosalie had to save him, and there was the making… but still, funny.

As was the systematic hunting of bears for his blood… the cursed beast that ended his life so many years ago. Irony, you have to love it.

Shaking his head, his eyes shifted back to the north and with a quick glance around he made his way back towards his Jeep far quicker than earlier. Once back in the drivers seat, Emmett grips the wheel tightly, thinking about his Rosalie… though they fought and their fights were dirty, nasty affairs… she often was quite passionate and heated about her feelings, quick to a biting remark or anger, it was her passion and heat that drew him to her.

His foot tramped on the gas and the Jeep’s tires screamed as the wind ruffled his dark hair. A deep, slow laugh rolled out of Emmett as a thought caught him… the nastier the fight the dirtier the make up.

“Hello Boston!”

Trevor Wright - I have no witty comment this time.

Trevor sighed softly as he sat in the shade and protection of a tree, a toothpick captured between his teeth, his eyes looking over the scenery through the glasses that he wore when he wanted to pretend that he was normal. It was hard to believe that sunny place like this would draw the attention of the cold ones, but then again, there were a lot of freaky things out there that didn't make sense. Just the fact that these people were here at all should have been enough to make him uneasy. He yawned a bit and closed his eyes. It really wasn't enough to make him uneasy though. There were plenty of other things to think about, like girls in skirts, and classroom craziness. He didn't need to think about his job. He was sure that if there were any of those bloodsuckers here, they would start picking up attention long before he started attracting the unwanted kind of attention. He was pretty sure that with his sensory projection abilities that it wouldn't be all that hard to find out where they were when they started doing things too. This was just a bad place for a vampire. All of these people cramped into such small space. They'd get hungry and bite someone sooner or later, and then word would spread like wildfire. If someone started giving out an abnormal amount of hickeys, Trevor would know about it and would look into it. For now tough...

He brought his hand up and pulled his had down over his face a bit. No need to rush into things. It was better to play it all cool at the moment. If he made friends with the right kinds of people, he wouldn't need to use his Extra Sensory Perception, or ESP to gather information, because they'd tell him all about it himself. All he needed to do was find the group of chatty girls, which wouldn't be too hard with his experience with women, and from there it was just the job of listening to what they said, which was sure to be a lot, casting away the information that wasn't important, also sure to be a lot, and picking up on the few important clues that he was sure would spread through rumor and random chatter.

This was the problem with the way things went with his organization. They wanted to be sure that the people he was sent after were actually worth being targets, so it worked sort of like a double blind test. He didn't actually even know who he was looking for, meaning that he had to check and double check everything before he was sure he had a target. It made his job incredibly difficult at times, since if he knew who the problem children here were, he could move in, remove them, and then be gone, but at the same time, by sending him here without knowing who he was after, they actually had to make enough mistakes that he noticed them and was sure that they were a problem before he could even move. It was good for him since he was cautious anyway, but he couldn't imagine how something like this would work for a trigger happy person who preferred to go in guns ablaze and leave nothing behind them but a trail of bodies. Actually, he couldn't image there being anyone like that in an organization like his. If you left a trail of bodies you were attracting too much attention. Everything needed to be stealthy...it just made him feel like he was expected to be a fucking ninja some of the time, which was stressful.

Well...maybe if he found the right set of girls he could mix business with pleasure a little bit. That would certainly be nice. He smiled at that and took a long breath, glad for the shade of both the tree and his hat on this warm day.

He sighed and brought his hand up flexing his fingers. It felt wet...had it rained earlier? Maybe it was one of those sprinkler systems. He sighed softly...not cool...He had somehow found himself sitting on wet grass, and now he really wasn't in a rush to go anywhere. He took a long breath and let his head fall back against the tree that he was sitting against. It would be nice if he could meet up with one of those girls sooner as opposed to later, but he was doubting it was going to be that easy. It wasn't like all of the girls were lined up to try and hang out with the slightly unshaven, mysterious guy who was one with nature enough to nap under a tree...wait...of course they were. He smirked softly at that. Even if he had fallen a victim of his own trap, it was set, and soon enough a girl would fall right into it. From there everything that was part of his plan would fall into place.

Leah Clearwater

Leah sighed for the millionth time as she walked up the stairs to New Blood dorm rooms. It was very, very, very ironic. She was just thankful that she was out of the admin office...away from the vampires. Soon, there would be an orientation about the rules of the dorms, etc. Also, tomorrow morning was supposed to be when everyone started signing up for class.

Slowly, Leah opened up the door to her dorm room, not quite anxious to meet her new roommate. Her roommates back was turned to her, she had dark brown hair and...there was something off about her. She wasn't exactly mortal, but at the same time she was.

Vampire? Nah, she doesn't stink like the cold ones do. Leah thought to herself, then cleared her throat. The girl seemed to jump in shock and turned. They stared each other down for a few minutes before Leah said, "Hey.."

In the end it went smooth, and she hoped it boded well for the future. It seemed odd that while in high school he'd been a year under her, now they were starting out as technically freshman. She was not looking forward to freshman orientation, a completely useless course. Then again it was strange being alone, alone in the sense that she hadn't seen Emmet all summer and she had crushed the engagement ring until only the diamond remained in a pool of golden dust.

It was going to take a while to work out not being in a dorm room, not that she really needed one, sure she showered and changed her clothes, but she didn't need a dorm to take care of those. Her lap top was state of the art, as was her car, she considered being a grease monkey. It was something her parents would have been shocked at. She frowned at the thought of her first family, and she shook her head at the look Edward was giving her.

She missed Emmett, and wondered when not if he would show up.

Edward ignored Leah. She wasn't important anyway. It wasn't the fact that he didn't like her, it was more or less, an minor annoyance. The cold stare given to him and Rosalie didn't help either. Hearing a rather upset "huff", Edward watched her walk towards the dorms, lifting her heavy bags with ease. "She should be more careful, not to blow her cover as a mere human". He sneered, rubbing his nose slightly. The awful stench of wet dog hung in the air. He couldn't hold it against her, it wasn't like he and Rosalie smelled any better to her.

The two made their way into the administrator's offices once again, this time finding Jasper with a beaming smile on his pale face. He wasn't expecting his family to all attend Harvard. It was annoying; yet, not annoying enough to yell at them. Still, something bothered him. Did they know something he didn't? And more importantly, Bella still wasn't here. It was a terrible mistake on his part to agree on such an odd request.
Just days before they decided their final parting words to Forks, WA; Bella asked him if it'd be alright to stay back and spend some time doing "personal matters". At the time, Edward respected her privacy, but the more he thought about it, the more the story seemed odd, as if she were hiding something. No. Like they were all hiding something from him.

His head swirling with cautious thoughts, he tried to do the one thing that he could do at that moment: Read his siblings minds. But they outfoxed him, feeding their minds with imagery & wonder of the surroundings they faced. It was a diversion, they came so they could keep him from knowing the truth!

Edward's golden eyes darken in anger, "Why couldn't she just tell me she didn't want to be with me, or go to Harvard.. why?!" His mind growled, gently pushing Rosalie aside to learn of his room number. The seemingly spaced-out secretary locked eyes with the beautiful creature before her, taking in his romantic poetry of words, her cheeks blushing wildly.

" Edward Cullen & Isabella Swan.. let's see.. Oh Yes! Room 15b, located in the New Blood hall!" The secretary purred, handing Edward a set of keys and his time table. Bowing his head respectively, he walked out; his eyes never raising to meet Jasper, nor Rosalie.

The drive over to the dormitory was a short one, nestled in the shadeist part of the University as he had requested. Hopping out smoothly, he lazily walked to the trunk, opening it between blinks of one's eye. Another blink of a second went by and what was left to be hauled up to the room was on his back. He had to fake struggling with the possessions to not cause any curious speculation of his hidden identity. Taking the elevator up; the doors opened to the 15th floor. A floor smelling of wretched dog, human and something he couldn't put a finger on.

"Great." Edward muttered, setting his items down for a moment to open the door to the small, cramped room. The smell of last year's sweat, vomit and other bodily fluids, lingered in the air heavily; chemicals of bleach and ammonia trying hard to cover them. "The Dog must be having the time of her life." He wondered, immediately gliding over to open the window. It just had to be his incredible luck to have Leah and the mysterious girl for room mates. It wouldn't be long, it wasn't hard to switch halls; plus it would be better for Bella anyway- the girl he saw earlier had a stange aura around her. One he didn't like.

It was decided that he would wait one hour for her. If she still was not here, he'd go out and search for her. School could wait. Digging out his glossy black Iphone, he put in the buds, turning it on to a slightly upbeat song "Okay where to begin." He sighed, eyeing the ceiling-high boxes of clothes, toys and everything in between. Smiling slightly, Edward shook his head opening the box with the words "Bella's random good's" written across.

Isabella Swan

Bella sighed as she sat in her car. A 2009 prisa, Alice had wanted to get her a catillac or something flashy but Bella insisted on the prisa, if she had to have a new car.

We can't all have flashy cars, Alice even if the school has mostly rich people... Bella had told her.

She didn't know whom her roommate was, she was hoping to god it wasn't Edward. She knew Edward would be there and she wasn't sure why she'd even agreed to go to Harvard. This wouldn't be so hard if he'd just fucking turn her already but noooo he had to have 'morals'. How ironic was that? For a vampire to have morals? Seriously? A vampire with morals?!?!?! Plus the fact that it was hard for him to kiss her for longer than 2 minutes was kind of ...getting annoying.

Though, that was why she loved him wasn't it? Because he had morals, because he wasn't one of those evil vampires that one would see in a horror flick...or like she'd seen two years ago, James and Victoria. Her father had tried to tell her to go to a different college, to take some time from Edward since he had broken her heart so bad, he even suggested taking Jacob to a college with her. Ha! Jacob go to college...That was funny. Bella sighed and looked up at the large building once more. She couldn't just sit in the prisa, Edward would come looking for her soon and then what would her excuse be?

Bella had promised that she'd make friends outside of the Cullens and thats what she would do.

Bella got out of the car and walked to the admin's office.

"Bella Swan.." she said

The secretary stared at her with a confused look.

Bella sighed, "Isabella Swan."

"Ah, yes... 15b in the newblood hall. You're roommate has just arrived, an Edward Cullen."

For a moment, her body did two different things. Her heart pounded just as it had the first time she kissed Edward and the second was her heart sank because she couldn't get away from Edward if they roomed together. "Thank you." Bella walked back to her car and started to take her things up to her room.

"Welcome to college..." she muttered to herself.

As soon as Bella reached the dorm room, ironically entitled 'new bloods' she took another deep breath and pushed the door open to lay eyes on the beautiful man before her. Edward always managed to unknowingly take her breath away. For a moment, she couldn't move.

Alice Cullen: The Pixie Flutters, er, Arrives

There was no one who could make an entrance quite like Alice Cullen. With her short spiky hair and angelic-like features, she looked like a beautiful pixie gliding into the university. Everyone she passed stared at her. She wasn't ignorant of the attention she brought to herself either, she just simply ignored it as she moved to the help desk.

"Hello," she greeted in a musical, almost sing-song voice, "I'm Alice Cullen. Could you direct me to my dorm room, please?"

The receptionist at the help desk stared at Alice before shaking his head and replying sheepishly. "Ah, er, let's see... A-alice Cullen... ah! You have room 17a in the freshman dorm hall. You're, ah, roommate seems to be Ceres K-Katsuragi."

Alice gave the receptionist a smile, startling him, before twirling around to face the hall mentioned. "Thank you," she replied before walking away.

As she entered her assigned dorm hall, she almost laughed out-loud at the name it had been given. "New Blood: Freshman Dorms" was written on a plaque hanging above the entrance. "Oh, so I'm like a baby vampire in school," she thought to herself with a giggle.

It wasn't long before she stood in front of her dorm room door. "So this is to be my new home for awhile," she mused, opening the door with the key that she'd received. It was a quaint little room with the basic two beds and dressers. She supposed that the bathroom would be just a quaint.

Alice sighed as she all but floated into the room, closing the door behind her. "Martha Stewart, prepare to eat your heart out."

Stephanie sighed as she started unpacking. There was going to be a mixer later than night for all the 'new bloods' to get to know one another and socialize. Stephanie couldn't wait! She wondered when Ceres would get there and felt the slightest bit of disappointment that they wouldn't be rooming together.

Ceres was like a big sister to her, though they weren't that far apart in age. It made Steph happy that she wouldn't be the only slayer on this campus. She was sure the cold ones were there somewhere, she could sense them yes but couldn't exactly pin point where. One was close though, it was the same aura she had gotten when she was in the administrative office.

Suddenly, she heard someone struggling outside. It must've been her roommate for the semester. Stephanie couldn't help but feel the slightest bit of excitement since this was a co-ed dorm and the person who was struggling outside could've been a very sexy future jock or something. That would be lovely! A sexy guy to take her mind off bloodsuc--

"Hey, could ya open the door, kinda struggling out here!!" A female voice yelled.

And then, that sudden burst of happiness that Stephanie had felt moments ago, dropped.

Leah growled as she struggled to open the door. Why had she been so stupid as to bring her bags with her while she searched for the dorm room. A few times she passed the dorm, it wasn't until fifteen minutes of trying to find the room that she had actually found it.

Now, here she was struggling to open the door, she could hear movement coming from inside the dorm. Someone was in there, they had a strange scent about them, but not gross, disgusting, something that smelled like old blood as the vampires had but more earthy, natural...almost like a werewolf but not quite there.

At least, she knew that here roomie wasn't a bloodsucker. The person whomever it was must've heard her because all movement stopped. Leah waited patiently for the person to open, but nothing happened. She growled, she was really gonna kill Jacob for this.

"Hey, could ya open the door, kinda struggling out here!!" Leah yelled

Suddenly the girl opened the door up. She was very lovely, her beauty matched that of a vampire so Leah had to take another sniff just to be sure that she hadn't been mistaken. She wasn't. The girl wasn't a vampire.

"Sorry..." the girl muttered.

Leah scoffed and walked inside, looking over to the side of the room where this girl had already started setting her stuff up. "So, I take it..this is my side." She said, indicating the empty bedside. "Yup, sure is." the girl said as she continued to unpack.

"Ah." Leah said.

"I'm Stephanie Hawkins by the way."

"Leah Clearwater."

"Nice to meet ya." Stephanie said, finally giving Leah a smile.

"Same."

"Bella?" Edward spoke within whispers, his skillfull hands pulling the buds out of his ears, gliding quietly towards her. She didn't speak, she didn't move. Instead; his love was tense, unsure about something.

"Bella speak to me, please.." He begged, his golden eyes filling up with tense worry, the normally expressioness face, filled with smooth creases, his handsome grin erased. He hugged her tightly- as tightly as reality would allow. Sometimes when she blanked out, the crushing of his tight arms would make her gasp back into the "now". It had seemed to work, but the uncertain look in her eyes didn't fade.

He hated that. How she wouldn't discuss her feelings to him. It was like Bella's true motives were always a secret, a mythical dream that he was somehow involved in. Dread washed over him. Perhaps she was falling out of love? Maybe their earlier talks about marriage during their university stay had frightened her? He held her within his arms, not wanting to let go. Bella meant everything to him. How could he convince her that she was all he ever needed?

"Bella..please.."
He begged, wiping the lone rain droplet off his brow. "If you have anything to tell me, I will listen..just please...please..don't keep me out in the dark." He couldn't help it. The worrying was always constant. His family always noted that Edward needed to chill, relax; but it was never a strong suit.

For Bella's sake, he had to worry. He worried now; besides her recent inability to speak. The girl he saw earlier outside made his inside churn, making his normal self uneasy, antsy. He hated not knowing if the girl would hurt Bella, or his siblings. Hell; even if she did end up hurting the Clearwater dog. His mind refused to ease. He wanted the world to stop throwing him curveballs! Why couldn't living the stereotypical "American Dream" be as easy as finding a stone on a pebble trail?

His hands finally released her, falling to his sides. His head looking downward, the copper-brown whisps of hair covering his liquid-coloured eyes. He was prepared for the worst. To hear her say she had found another, maybe realizing she did indeed, love Jacob Black.. or the other guy back in Forks.. "Mike" was it? Edward couldn't help but clench his fists. How foolish he was to assume someone as special as her could ever fall for a monster like him.

"Just say it Bella, say that you found another!" Edward yelled, his balled up fist falling short against the wall. He was lucky to have a few spurts of self-control. If he hadn't, it would be quite hard to explain why half a dorm wall tended to "suddenly dissapear". "Just say it Bells.." he whispered hoarsely, falling to his knees for an answer, hopefully one without much pain.

"Bella?"

Bella stared at him, her mind still stuck on what she had been thinking about in the car. She couldn't possibly tell Edward that she didn't think rooming with him would be such a good idea. She didn't want to hurt him, she'd hurt herself before she hurt Edward.

"Hm?" She hadn't really said anything, just made a small noise as Edward moved forward to hug her. He was so cold against her warm skin, how she revelled in the feel of his touch. It definately brought her back to the 'now' so to speak.

"Bella speak to me, please.."

What was she supposed to say? Yeah, she had been terribly sad and depressed when he left her with the wolves..literally. She had even begun to think that there was something wrong with her, because he'd left her. If it hadn't been for Jacob, who knew what shape she'd be in now?

But she couldn't tell Edward how upset she still was with him.

"I'm fine, Edward. I am really!" She forced a smile. He obviously didn't believe her and this was the only part of being who she was that she enjoyed. For some strange reason, he could never read her mind and at the moment, which was rare for Bella she didn't want Edward to be able to read her mind.

"Bella..please.." He begged, wiping the lone rain droplet off his brow. "If you have anything to tell me, I will listen..just please...please..don't keep me out in the dark."

She didn't allow him to move away from her, right now she just wanted to feel his body pressed against her, no matter how nonsexual it was. She closed her eyes and wondered what it would be like if he would just change her instead of waiting until they got married. She didn't want to get married, if marraige was so great why wasn't her mother and Charlie still together?

"Just say it Bella, say that you found another!"

That made Bella pull away and look up at him, frowning in confusion. "Edward, what are you---" as he restrained himself from hitting the wall.

"Just say it Bells.."

"I haven't found another...I just....why can't you just turn me Edward, please! Why do we have to get married first?" Bella asked, lowering her eyes. "Please, Edward. I just...I want to be with you forever...."

His mind didn't know what to think. He believed that most likely she didn't find another, but there was something bothering her, and she wasn't be honest about it. But she had brought it up once more. The question on why he refused to change her.

"Bella.." he began, his golden eyes narrowing in on the beauty of her "plain" features. "I want you to experience life, be free to choose things you want and be able to interact and do things that I cannot. I want you to live for both of us! I love you Bella.. I really do.. that's why I want to marry you, live forever with you.. but at the same time, have you experience more than I ever got the chance to do so.."

He held her close, the warmness of her body soaking in quickly to the cold contrast of his own. He felt her shiver, gently pushing her away. " I'll make you some hot cocoa and fix you a hot bath.." he whispered, trying to lift her spirits. " If you want.. tonight I can take you out to where ever you'd like.." His mind was still unsettled, unsure of what could of been bothering her. Normally; he could tell. It wasn't as if his girl was good at hiding her true feelings, but this time; it could be anything.

Edward leaned over quickly to kiss her frusterated expression, swiftly dissapearing into the bathroom to fix her bath. His mind quickly began unraveling the puzzle of her unhappiness. Could it be that she never forgave him for leaving her with the dogs? Could it be that she missed Forks? her Father? or could it be that she really wanted to be turned that badly? No. It wasn't the last option and she was so thrilled to leave behind Forks.. that left one thing. She was still mad at him.

His heart sank at that moment, learning that she was unhappy that he was forced to let her go for the sake of her and her father's safety. It was decided. While she sat in the bath & get warmed up by the water, he would unpack everything and get ready for their date out on the town. When they returned to the dorm room, and providing she would agree to elope with him tonight; they would..do it.. and then..then..

Edward's mind conflicted with that idea. He knew he owed it to her, however; it wasn't something he wanted. He never intended to make her so unhappy, he HAD to go through with this, and he would have to control himself so she would not die.

"I'm doing this.."
He mumbled under his breath, turning off the tap water. Grabbing a couple of oversized towels and spreading out his love's tolietries, Edward walked out of the bathroom casually, seeing the stressed out look on Bella's face while she eyed the over-whelming amount of taped-up boxes.

"My love.. go. Take your bath and relax."
His voice purred, ushering her towards the direction of the steamy room. " I'll most likely get the majority of these boxes unpacked and organize. Don't worry about it. I'll put on the kettle and deliver your hot cocoa to you.." Edward watched as she went into the bathroom, closing the door behind her. He sighed, shaking his head at the mountain he had nicknamed "Hell."

"Where to begin". He said in a sing-song voice, his lightening mood suddenly interrupted. "Kill the Cullens.." he heard inside his mind.. a female voice, one he heard earlier. "That woman.." he whispered, his face towards the wall that seperated the two dorm rooms. It was most deffinately what he heard, along with Leah's bitterness of not wanting to be beside a bloodsucker.

Edward's mind tried to gather more information on the woman, why she intended to kill the Cullens. Did she know? Was Bella in danger? How was she able to block her mind from him at will? He had to know, he had to find out. He had.. to break his plans with Bella....

Tonight.

Stephanie/Leah

Stephanie had by now, after a few hours unpacked her clothes and had put them in their drawers. Her mind had been on how to kill the Cullens. She still hadn't heard any word from Ceres not even a mental word, which worried her. She hoped one of those bloodsuckers hadn't gotten to her. No, no she could still feel the link between her and Ceres.

She was just late, as usual.

Leah sighed as she too began finishing unpacking her belongings. Mentally, she cursed Jacob for forcing her to go and then cursed the bloodsuckers for having a room next to her! Surely that mind reader one could've known they were going to same college.

Leah scoffed at that and Stephanie glanced over at Leah.

Not only did Leah hate to be in the same college. She didn't think her and this woman would get along very well. Already, they weren't speaking to one another. Feeling eyes on the back of her head, Leah raised her eyebrow and turned.

"Did you need something?"Leah asked

"Nope!" Stephanie said in her usual chirpy voice.

Yeah, Leah didn't see them becoming friends anytime soon. Leah turned back to her opened box, then Stephanie spoke again.

"So, you going to join anything. I was thinking about joining a --"

"Just...stop...talking." Leah grumbled, not really open to socializing.

And so the rest of the evening was quiet...

Bella sighed but didn't say anything. She didn't want to get married. Why would she want to? It wasn't exactly like she had the best example of a good marraige, unless she counted her mother and stepfather which she didn't because she wasn't her stepfathers child.

She shivered once again, just as she had earlier and Edward, her precious Edward pushed her away gently.

" I'll make you some hot cocoa and fix you a hot bath.." he whispered, " If you want.. tonight I can take you out to where ever you'd like.."

"Thank you Edward..." Bella said smiling. She stared at him for a moment with a soft smile before turning her attention to the boxes in front of her. This was probably going to take all night. She wouldn't even be able to go to the freshmen mixer that evening. Her mind wasn't really focused on the boxes but her dilemma with Edward. She was still upset with him for leaving her even if it was to protect her. She could take care of herself...after all, those accidents she'd had been because he did leave her!

"My love.. go. Take your bath and relax." His voice purred, ushering her towards the direction of the steamy room. " I'll most likely get the majority of these boxes unpacked and organize. Don't worry about it. I'll put on the kettle and deliver your hot cocoa to you.."

"If you're sure..." She said, glancing over at him. She had become more quiet, not so talkative like she normally was when Edward was around. She had to find a way out of this funk. After finishing her hot cocoa and soaking, she got out of the tub and put a robe around her body. "Edward, what do you think about my joining a....Edward?" He looked upset about something. Maybe it was because she'd been so withdrawn lately, "Edward?" She gently touched his shoulder.

"I'm not upset, really. I'm just....its hard getting used to a new place but I'm sure I can do it with you here." She lied and smiled at him.

Rosalie Hale

(sorry for absence, my stepfather is recovering quite well. I would post a picture of his surgical scar/scab, but I think he might object. I don't exactly broadcast to my family that I like to write erotica.)

There was one good thing about being a year old than Edward, at least in human terms. It meant that while he had to be a Freshman, she was a Sophmore and not restricted to living on campus. The proximity of so many humans in one place, well it made it even more difficult to blend in. The library was pretty massive and she had already scouted out which areas were basically deserted.

Now if Emmet would show up, everything would be, well not perfect certainly, but at least a little more normal. Not that any of them could be called normal anymore, but oh well. She'd smiled snagged her schedule, smiled at Edward and whispered that she'd be buying books while he settled in.

Besides the werewolf stink, she had other reasons to get away from campus. At least Alice looked as if she were having fun.

Leah the cynical wolf

Leah had finally finished, while Stephanie was outside of the dorms, looking at the events that were going on tonight, one which included the new bloods mixer, Leah grabbed her bag, a good book and walked out of the dorm room. She needed to get away from Stephanie and all her cheerfulness, she needed to just...get away.

Oh she hated Jacob, she would make him pay! She would definately make him pay.

She found a tree right outside the dorms and saw a very handsome brown haired man, wearing glasses. It sort of reminded her of Clark Kent except way sexier and she doubted he was some sort of super hero.

"Mind if I sit here?" Leah asked

Jasper Hale

Jasper had been considering finding a place to have a little bit of fun on his first day...actually, really he had been considering a place where he could get away from all of these people with all of their emotions and all of their delicious blood. He brought his hand up, rubbing the corners of his lips as he walked down the hallways of the school slowly. How was he expected to deal with all of this? Sure he had been doing well...so very well, and now he was here, placed in the middle of all of this temptation. He didn't even want to be here anymore. He bit his bottom lip as he tried to think of a way that he could get himself out of this place...This horrid...awful place. He really wasn't sure how any of the others had managed to do it in a place like this...it was horrible, and he really did not feel confident about staying here for any length of time.

The highschool had been pain enough for him. He had managed to bite his tongue to keep from biting any pretty girls' necks back then, but things weren't going so well now. Now he was surrounded by more people, and everyone expected him to be fine here because he had shown so much promise. He wasn't sure that he could do it. He wasn't sure that he could break himself away from having a little snack. Anyone would do...he was sure that he could find a little mousy girl that no one would even notice had gone missing. He brought his hand up, gently biting on the end of his thumb. Why was he here again? What was the point in coming to this place? Surely he could have just slipped away and gone back to living a normal life as far away from people as possible. He had been doing good...why was he jeopardizing it by being in a place like this...a place where he needed so much more self control than he was prepared to come up with...

This wasn't a good idea...he just really didn't want to stay here long enough to have an opportunity for the words 'I told you so' to cross his mind...
