Ah, you mean the balls not fitting through the O-ring? Or what else do you mean? Thanks for the replies, everyone.
After looking around, and taking into acount all of the aforementioned suggestions, I still find myself very unsure of what is for me. I guess that is something only I can decide however.
As it is, there doesn't seem to be too robust of a selection of double headed dildos available. The Nexus and Feeldoe both came up. I think that the Feeldoe looks very promising, but am worried whether or not it would actually work as advertised. The Nexus would certainly work with an appropriate harness, but I'm not sure if it'll provide enough stimulation for the wearer on its own. It does seem to have a spot to insert bullet vibrators however... At least, I think it does. Some of those item descriptions are rather vague.
It looks like I'll have to settle for something a little on the abstract side too. None of the dildo/harness combinations I could find seem to be very friendly toward more realistic looking dongs. :\

Aha! I found something! The Goodfella by Vixen Creations might be just what you're looking for. Make sure to watch the video on Youtube. It's expensive ($120) but Vixen dildos are SOOOOOO worth it. (I have a few!)
A little soft is actually much more enjoyable in my experience. Most cheap vinyl dildos are completely inflexible. A little soft is more realistic. And yes, it would work fine. The demo they had on the website seemed to show that it was a little (too?) soft. Would it be good for anal play?

We have a Feeldoe - we got it a couple of months ago, mainly because we were really keen to have something which didn't need a harness.
It has plus and minus points. It looks good on the wearer - primarily because there's no distracting harness.
It's made of silicone, so it doesn't smell manufactured or artificial.
Both ends feel nice inside you - they're both specifically designed for the vagina, and they've done a reasonably good job. The wearer's end is one of the best I've come across - lots of really smooth but firm contact with your clitoris.
But does it work - it having no straps? I'd give it a seven out of ten. You can do a lot with it, but the wearer's end will sometimes wiggle itself out, or feel unstable enough you need to interfere with your hands to keep it in place. It depends on the position. If the wearer's underneath, and her partner's on top, riding it, it's lovely.
The definitive test, perhaps, is whether both of you can orgasm at the same time while using it - and more often than not, we manage to do that.
