I realized I may be recruiting in the wrong area for this, but I'd like to run a D&D or fantasy type game. There will be sex and adventure, and probably violence.
This will be a good to neutral aligned party, so they can't do anything wicked.

I have plenty of experience running PbP games, and I do push it along, but only expect one post a day... sometimes, I am able to do more, but it depends on my ever-changing schedule.

I have a couple of people interested alreadt, but I don't want too many.
Do submit your ideas, have an idea for cameo players.
I thought it might be fun to create your ideal fantasy type PC.
From dashing knight, stunning lady, or even dorky thief. The mischievous hobbit is funny, or the classic grumpy dwarf... though not as sexy.
I am open to any combo of your fantasy imagination, one old player of mine only played gay men, and went looking for hot ass all over the kingdom.

I'd like a mix of sexes.
{More potential fun that way. :)}

The best way to look at your PC-identity would be to put it in terms of a 1st level PC in the d20 Open Gaming content sense.

The world where I want to start you will be human and maybe half-elf, but the world and multi-verse can be as varied as your imagination... though I do get final approval as to who gets in. If you have no experience, no prob. You can write up something as simple as:

Race: Elf
Sex: Male
Skills/Class: Arcane Archer, able to cast spells into his arrows.

Your player will begin with low level skills.

I reward role-play, so you can gain skills from your posts in character.

You will grow in skills, and can even begin as a nobleman or a farmer. You needn't even be gorgeous. Some of the best PCs are not necessarily 'cclassically' attractive. But I will include a lot of sex, and sexy scenes, since that is sort of the theme of these boards :D.

One idea I have is an escape from a harem, or even a rescue from one. I do have many other ideas, and can even do the classic start at an Inn.

Please ask questions. I am an expert on matching your PC's background to the world I have created. Try to stick with fantasy themes, but may consider other things from astronauts to futuristic cyborg ladies. {PM if you want your concept kept secret.}

Serious players only, and do submit something you really want to play. Even if it is a hot over sexed thief babe.

Anyone can post here, this is merely a discussion and recruitment thread, and possibly a store of possible future guest stars. ;)
This might do well for people that just want to make a brief appearance to experiment with this type of gaming.

She dresses with only the finest silks on the outside of her armor usually pink in color thought she likes lavenders and baby blues also.

Bio: Tiffany is of noble blood. She was sent to school as a noble when they realized she had an affinity with both magic and with the blade. She was quickly taken in by one of the few duskblades out there and trained to be this extremely leathal class. Oddly enough she follows the diety Bahamat. She believes that she has dragonblood running through her veins that allow her to cast spells without preparing them in advance. Her duskblade abilities are more like a sorcerers then a wizards and as a result she has the same beliefs in dragon lineage as them.

I'd have to say this is my type of RP.

I've always been a fan of fantasy type stories, with adventure, humor, horror and of course steamy romances tossed in all together.

I'm guessing since we can't really roll dice here, we'll just be rping our own actions and saving throws and to just use our best judgment as to whether or not our character can or can't perform a certain stunt.

Example:

Regular human peasant has a Giant throw a tree at him and his party,

Normal human certainly isn't going to stop the tree with his brute strength nor even be able to cut in half with a weapon (assuming the weapon isn't enhanced magically)
The Human will most likely duck in cover or if more towards the neutral good/evil aliment will try to push his friends to safety or into danger first before himself.

Also as far as npcs and monsters go, will everyone be able to bring in random (but within reason) npcs and creatures? Such as a child hood friend who often shows up with interesting info regarding a hidden treasure, or the lovely bar maid whom brings your character a drink before going about her business.

Or will there be a DM present who will take care of everything around the players chars.

I apologize for all the questions but I want to make sure all of the rules are down first before anything is started. Having played DnD and also working as a DM myself I have a pretty good understanding of how things work and how things can get out of hand.

Anyway I'd be happy to participate in this adventure if you'd have me.
I think Role playing as a level 1 char could turn out interesting.

you could always use a third party for dice rolls, just be honest about the rsults

you could always use a third party for dice rolls, just be honest about the rsults

I do recall hearing about those, and while it's a good idea, I'd just hate to have a good story go to crap if everyone started rolling bad or even too good in a written story. (Could become comical though)

We would also then have to take the time to make sure everyone who plays is using the proper dice, have the right stats, etc etc and what not which could end up being time consuming. Especially if not everyone can post right away.

Example:

RPMate said:
::So and so throws a hatchet at said mob::
So an so Rolls- 1d20 14
(everyone waits a day for a confirmed hit or miss)
14=Hit
Damage rolled- 1d8 8
(waiting again)
oops wrong dice roll should of used a 1d4
(everyone waits again for the mistake to be corrected.)

In a well managed game that probably wouldn't happen, but I'm just throwing out idea's of what could occur. I think just rping out our characters in a DnD type story world would be faster, and just like any normal story in Lit, it'll be up to us players not to step out of bounds of our characters capabilities.

It's ultimately up to MistyS and any which way is fine for me.

(Quoted for fun from a previous DnD game)

"Behold my awsome power feeble minded adventurers for now you face the wrath of a true mage!"

lv 30 mage casts a spell....bad roll...spell failed

"....Curse you chain shirt and your 10% spell failure chance!"

version 3.5, bards and warlocks can wear light armour with no spell failure increase

Yep, which is nice and I was happy they did that. ::Smirks and then shrugs::

Just not everyone plays by the rules made by the books and even more go out of their way to make their own rules and tweaks for their own personal game or story.

Books are just basic guidelines, nothing written in stone on how to play the game or what rules should or shouldn't be applied.

The real trick is to get everyone on the same page and understand what rules the DM has for his/her game.

I'm sure this game will be slightly diffrent as well.

i think the fact that the thread starter is a presteige class at such low levels shows just how diffrent it will be

This certainly sounds like fun! If I ever find the time today or tomorrow I might post up a character that I already have. Just out of curiousity, could it be possible to use a character template, like half-dragon or something like that?

Yep, I noticed that too, which brings about more questions for the later.
Till then we'll just have wait and see how Misty wants to play this.

i would have to insist you get a level modifyer on that, if it for some reason is allowed

His father and grandfather were both paladins and he happily follows in their footsteps. Brottor trained as a squire under several dwarven paladins as he grew up, honing his skills. As a result, he has little love for fools and those that commit evil acts. He will however assist anyone for good and justice. Before he could graduate as a full fledged paladin, Brottor's father died fending off orcs attacking a frontier town. My dwarf paladin, just if I do get accepted.

Wow! Lots more interest!

Okay, my list of potential players is at the bottom of this post. Remember I only want a few, but I might keep some of you as guest stars for 'special' encounters...

Some game notes: When it comes to rolling dice, I will probably do all that based off your actions. {Don't worry, I am a fair GM.} I hope to do plenty of role-play interaction. But, I do like the sense of danger fantasy combat can provide. Especially when rescuing the innocent.

Any challenges should be doable by the party, though I may throw in a metaphoric 'uber-dragon' from time to time just to make you flee. :)

I will be the GAMEMASTER, I am willing to take suggestions, especially on your character's direction. As to backgrounds of your PCs, I love to bring in NPCs from your past from time to time as well.

I will also monitor the characters to make sure players stay within their bounds, but I don't mind you exploring.

For instance in a city I may run split posts:

Example split post:
Dorgar the barbarian:
He goes to the whorehouse with his spoils from the adventure, and meets a gorgeous half-elven woman, trained in the art of kama sutra. {We can then get to the seduction of Dorgar here.}

Afina the sorceress:
Meets her boyfriend, the wizard and to go on a romantic date....

Bob the ugly Bard:
Will continue his attempts to woo the pretty princess of the town...

I would, of course, go into more detail, and would base everything off your actions. We also may get off timelines, but it will be my job to eventually work the party back together for the overall erotic adventure.

Afina's boyfriend moves in close and gives her a soft kiss on the neck.... he doesn't mind the others watching as he unties the top of her robes and exposes her....

Anyway, I will want the group together. Heck, I wouldn't mind an all PC orgy, while camping in the woods, here you guys would have complete control.
{For fun I may put in notes saying, well, Dorgar can't control himself, and sprays cum in Afina's face as she pleasures him... Ya see Dorgar has a problem with premature ejaculation... anyway, I wouldn't want to control too much of your PC, but as in life things happen, here you can blame the GM. :D}

Anyway, I want you to feel you can go anywhere, and if you feel you want to visit a baker, by all means go get some bread. I will even allow a little player creation should you be seeking something in particular, but keep it in the bounds of the game. You may want a magic shoppe, but likely in the beginning you won't have enough gold or silver to purchase anything, and then only in cities are their stores like this.

kittenofdeath:
Don't feel limited by the standard game stuff. I will work to make you balanced with the others. So, if you had an idea for a bard in armor, I may consider it, perhaps a battle-bard, with limitations on spells.... anyway, I think there is a lot of room for creativity on both sides.

RPMate:
Yep, books are guidelines. But, they do provide some common ground.

Dragoon: All fantasy races will be considered, one person offered me a creation of their own {or someone elses}. Just remember it is a heavy human world, and there are many racist humans out there. Anything too big and powerful may not get included, or will have modifiers. And some races will be chased from towns with pitchforks and torches.

The List:
Tymeless: Tiffani
Jackhammer: Ronin
blueeyedboy: thief
dkitty: drow
fantasies_only: Zorn
dragoon: dwarven paladin
RPMate: ???
kittenofdeath: ???

::Nods:: Agreed

And some races will be chased from towns with pitchforks and torches.

heh heh always fun to see that happen.

Anyway here's my chars profile.

Name: Jake Miles
Age: 23
Race: Human
Height: 5'11
Weight: 164
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Brown
Alignment: Neutral Good
Languages: Common
Class: Best described as a Fighter/Rogue. (I know that's a lv 2 char but ::shrugs:: I doubt it'll make a diffrence for a written DnD story.)

Pic:

http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h289/NinaZaling/Jakelookalike.png

Bio: Born in a tiny fishing village far from the busy street life of the big city kingdoms, Jake is your everyday farmboy whom dreams of one day becoming a great knight for the kingdom.

Good spirited and confident (if not a little overconfident) Jake usually gets along well with everyone, although at times he can become a little bullheaded if he believes someone is being treated unfairly, which has lead Jake to be either known as the underdog or trouble maker among people.
Jake also enjoys a good challenge and isn't known to back down once someone has challenged him, even if his chances of wining are slim.

Having never left his village Jake is quite naive of the outside world and has only heard stories of the other races, both the good and bad. He is also quite clueless on the kingdoms politics and other religions save for two which would be the god/goddess of harvest and of the sea. (that'll be left to the DM.)

Skills: Having been born in a tight nit fishing village Jake knows a little bit about fishing, hunting and (thanks to the local priest) has picked up on reading. However due to his short attention span this knowledge is limited at best which makes him appear somewhat dense and gullible at times.

Thanks to the villages local blacksmith (whom is an older friend/mentor of Jake's), he has also picked up a little on sword play but is still a novice at best.

Lastly thanks to his youth and being somewhat mischievous with his friends Jake has knowledge of locks and can pick simple ones as well as simple traps. (yes him and his friends set play traps for each other as kids and still do.)

I'm near finalizing the group.

Jake sounds intriguing.

Probably tomorrow I'll have the adventure crew figured out, and I'll send you lucky ones individual PMs linking your PC to the game.

It'll be in a new thread all our own.

This could become our Out-Of-Character thread for people wanting to comment or other non-RPG discussion you may want to bring up.

I might bring the dwarf in later, but for now he might be one chased by torches and pitch forks. ;)

Final List still to come!

My Character

Height: 5'9"
Weight: fluctuates between 155 and 185 lbs. depending upon the amount of food readily available
Appearance: Asian/Pacific Islander appearance (long black hair, dark brown eyes, bronzed complexion, youthful appearance, etc.)

Ronin Wanna-Be
My character's life sucks, and like most hard-luck cases, it truly is all of my character's fault – and everyone but my character knows it.
* CURSE OF SLOTH My character is a lazy, indolent lout, and as such, only bathes when he absolutely has to – the good news here is that fleas and other parasites are too disgusted to feed upon him.

* CURSE OF POVERTY Any manner of wealth that somehow fails to avoid my character's clutching grasp inevitably slips from his grubby fingers, leaving him as pitifully destitute as he was before.

* CURSE OF VICE My character is a wretched addict to one or more vices, and as such, he would be an utterly contemptible disgrace steeped in unfathomable shame if he really was a samurai. As it is, he is merely what others expect him to be: a miserable wretch.

* CURSE OF FOOL’S MASQUERADE My character was never a samurai, even before the Shogun removed the entire caste distinction from society. This does not stop him from masquerading as one who once was. He wield a wooden practice sword because he never owned (or were worthy of) a real blade. On the upside, he is unbelievably accomplished with the use of his wooden weapon – mostly because he never had the opportunity to wield any other weapon outside of a tree branch, and his continued delusion gave him the motivation to practice constantly. Through observation and other means of acquiring free fencing instruction, my character learned and mastered a few exotic martial arts such as Yadomejutsu ("Arrow Cutting") and some very specialized "maneuvers/techniques" such as the "Butterfly Return" and the "Crashing Stones Cut."

The Final List

I think we have enough interest, so here is the list of those I will continue to build backstories to get in the main thread... I hope to have all up in a day or two.

Sword and Sorcery PC/players:

1. The Ronin: JckHmmr
2. Tiffani: Tymeless
3. Jake: RPMate
4. lady drow: dkitty
5. Kalie: SexyVita

I will be in touch tomorrow with more details in PMs to the five of you.

I think 5 is a good number and not too big.

To the others, thank you for applying, and perhaps we can use you for future appearances.

Too late, huh?

:( Looks like i was just too late for this one, eh? oh well it sounded really interesting, i was already thinking up a char too lol. I'll probably read along anyway, if you ever need an extra char, or a cameo of some sort let me know:D

I have a few mechanical questions:

  1. Are we going to have any sort of established turn order (outside of combat anyway)?
  2. Is it OK to respond to another PC's post before the GM has responded to our last post?
  3. How will we deal with contested actions between PCs? In other words if I say I am going to grab the last chicken drummy and someone else grabs for it too, how to we decide who wins?
  4. How should we deal with actions that might have a chance of failure? Do we wait for the GM to decide success or failure?

I hope this is okay.

Her eyes are soft and kind, a contrast to their blood red color. Her figure is slender with small breast and hips. The few that have taken the time to get to know her say her smile is the most gentlest they have seen. But don’t make her mad or you see the Drow side come out.

Bio: Telva was born in an underdark city to a noble family. She lived there until her 64th year when her family was attacked by a rival family. She only survived because of a human slave that acted more like a mother to her then her real one. The slave, whose tongue had been removed by Telva’s mother for some the slave had said, wrote that she knew of a place they could live in some peace. The two of them fled the undercity never to return. After that Telva had started to call the slave women mother.

For the last 110 years, Telva has lived on the outskirts of the town. After ‘mother’ died of old age Telva has stayed in their small farm house trying to keep it up. She makes some extra money as a Rogue and also dancing at the tavern in town. The people of town don’t talk to her much unless they have had a few drinks and she is half naked on the stage dancing for them. She has befriended a few non-humans in town thanks to that she has at least had a fun night or two in the bed of one or two males among them. But no one wants anything more then a quick roll on the bed. She feels lonely most of the time on her little run down farm hoping for love and/or adventure.

Hit Points: 7

1. As for combat I will use your abilities, how we agreed, then roll to make it a little random, and then we can base actions off what you want to do. I wanted to let everyone have range to explore. I'll just be smack down to keep us all fair. I am using the d20 D&D rules as sort of a base, but we can play roughly around it.
ie RPMate created sort of a dual class for Jake.

2. You can respond to people when ever, but perhaps signify it by noting when and who you are speaking to them, if it flows outside the order of things.

3. If it comes to a race between PCs I will consider personal agility, and then of course the luck of the die. :)

4. I will roll for everything you want to do in combat. And give results of succes or failure.

dkitty:
I like it. I'll send more in a PM.
