Ok... so I know one girl, Mephistophelily, was going to do this one... but she never updated after the first post so I am going to take it and make it my own because I never see her on... and it got nowhere...
In ancient Egypt, the goddess of protection and divine mother, Bast, was said to watch over the Pharoah. Her children; her kittens, were those who watched over her temples and did her terra-bound work. Her temple was filled with statues and figures depicting the goddess, as well as small figures depicting her children.
As time passed, the developing modern world began to grow outside the temple, the felines becoming less and less important in lives until they were finally forgotten. It wasn't until an expedition group uncovered one of these temples that the goddess' children rose once again, reawakening in modern day New York City where their mother's figures were brought to be displayed at a museum.
Though niave about the world of today, the felines are quite intelligent in most other areas. The felines have the ability to appear like any other human, but only for a limited time. Their usual appearance is adapted from their feline goddess mother; a humanoid cat.
Note- Just because I refer to all the cats as Bast's children does NOT mean they are all related.

I'm looking for about 3 or 4 other cat people.
Others can be humans they encounter and such.
At least one boy cat!
Please put up a profile!
History of Bast
Probably the most famous Egyptian goddess after Isis, Bast was said to be the daughter of Ra, though long after he created the primal gods. She was originally a sun goddess, but after contact with the Greeks, she changed to a moon goddess, probably due to the Greeks associating her with Artemis.
Like Artemis, Bast was a wild goddess. To those who were in her favor, she gave great blessings, but her wrath was legendary and she was sometimes listed as one of Ra's avenging deities who punish the sinful and the enemies of Egypt. This is of course in keeping with her totem animal, the cat. Cats were sacred to Bast, and to harm one was deemed a great transgression. Bast's importance in the Egyptian pantheon might be due to the great value placed on the domesticated cat by the Egyptians. Cats curtailed the spread of disease by killing vermin, and though the idea of microbes was unknown to the ancient Egyptians, they must have noticed the connection between rats and disease.
Her worship was widespread, and her cult apparently had a great deal of power. Bubastis was even the capital of Egypt for a time during the Late Period, and some pharaohs took her name in their king-names. Herodotus' description of her temple at Bubastis is that of a place of great splendor and beauty, rivaled only by the temples to Ra and Horus.

Name: Kalliope
Age: Looks to be about 21
Appearance: ((above))
Bio: Kalliope, often referred to as Kalli, was 'volunteered' to be a priestess. It's not that she doesn't want to be but she wanted to go out a live. Once it all faded she was sealed away as well. She's a no nonesense kind of girl and likes the facts to be presented to her outright. She doesn't get lost in the details and has no trouble seeing the whole picture. She can be blunt and fairly quick to anger. Not usually traits of a priestess but she gets the job done. She is very loyal and protective of her 'siblings'. Very strong girl... takes what she wants.

There can only be four to five cats total... but they can meet many humans... probably museum people first... and then more as that progresses.
