Stop, Stop, Stop - The Hollies

See the girl with cymbals on her fingers entering through the door
Rubies glistening from her navel shimmering around the floor
Bells on feet go ting a ling a ling ing going through my head
Sweat is falling just like a tear drop running from her head

Now she's dancing, going through the movements, swaying to and fro
Body moving, bringing back a memory, thoughts of long ago
Blood is rushing, temperature is rising, sweating from my brow
Like a snake her body fascinates me, I can't look away now

Stop stop stop all the dancing, give me time to breathe
Stop stop stop all the dancing or I'll have to leave

Now she's moving all around the tables luring all in sight
But I know that she cannot see me hidden by the light
Closer closer she is getting nearer, soon she'll be in reach
As I enter into her spotlight, she stands lost for speech.

Stop stop stop all the dancing, give me time to breathe
Stop stop stop all the dancing or I'll have to leave

Now I hold her, people are staring, don't know what to think
And we struggle. knocking over tables, spilling all the drinks
Can't they understand that I want her, happens every week
Heavy hand upon my collar throws me in the street

Stop stop stop all the dancing, give me time to breathe
Stop stop stop all the dancing or I'll have to leave

"Maybe Tomorrow" - Stereophonics

I've been down and
I'm wondering why
These little black clouds
Keep walking around
With me
With me

It wastes time
And I'd rather be high
Think I'll walk me outside
And buy a rainbow smile
But be free
They're all free

So maybe tomorrow
I'll find my way home
So maybe tomorrow
I'll find my way home

I look around at a beautiful life
Been the upperside of down
Been the inside of out
But we breathe
We breathe

I wanna breeze and an open mind
I wanna swim in the ocean
Wanna take my time for me
All me

So maybe tomorrow
I'll find my way home
So maybe tomorrow
I'll find my way home

So maybe tomorrow
I'll find my way home
So maybe tomorrow
I'll find my way home

So maybe tomorrow
I'll find my way home
So maybe tomorrow
I'll find my way home

"He's a Dream" - Shandi (From the "Flashdance" Soundtrack)

He doesn't mean a thing to me, just another pretty face to see
He's all over town, knocking 'em down, honey
I'd never let him next to me

Oh he's the kind of guy who thinks he's smart
He's the type that always looks the part
He's on the make, it's undertake, honey
An' I never let him touch my heart

[Chorus:]
Right now, ask me if I care, look, it's coming closer, oh I'll swear
He's got to be the toughest guy I've ever seen
I can't believe he's lookin' at me

He's a dream

He didn't mean to catch my eye, well he's lucky, he just walked on by
'Cos he hasn't met a girl like me, are you kiddin'
Well I tell him that I'd rather die

[chorus]

He's a a a (he's a dream)
(He's a dream) tonight (he's a dream) oh I know
(He's a dream) Okay (well he's a dream)

[chorus repeats 2x]

He's a dream

(He's a dream) [repeats out]

And this is 'news'?

"Dream On" - Aerosmith

plus you do have to add in the fact that personnlly I find little today that can match the power, strength and durability of the music of my youth. I find it had to believe much of it will still be as listened to 30+years later.

I tend to agree, and yet in every era there's a little bit of cream that will always float to the surface...

It's just that there ain't as much of it as there used to be.

There is great/oustanding/longlived music in every era/time period. I whole heartedly agree.
I just have a feeling that many, many years from now the 60/70 time period is going to be looked at as one of the densest times for outstanding and long lived music. The sheer numbers volume, I think is unmatched in history for a less than 20 year time span. JMHO
