Political Music

While we were distracted, an assortment of Republicans have insured that their corporate "friends" are getting everything that they have ever dreamed of.

The fallout from this, is we are about to witness a severe shift in what we hear and see, in major news media.

(apologies to Harry Nilsson- Food, Food, Food from the Popeye soundtrack.)

Everything is Trump
He is all you need to know
No need for thought
Everything you need is Trump

It is Trump
Everything is Trump

Everything is cash for Trump
The White House transformed
a gilded dump

It is Trump
Everything is Trump

Everything is Trump, Trump, Trump
Orange plague took over the news feed
Pod-people, going to seed

Promoting Trump
Trump, Trump, Trump

Convinced by Trump
Everything is Trump

Everything is Trump, Trump,
Living in the Upside Down
Pretend it is sunny side up
He's ubiquitous
Vile, empty, idiotic
He's out to dick us
It's fucking tragic

It's Trump, Trump, Trump
Make no mistake about it
Trump, Trump, Trump

It is Trump, Trump, Trump
Full Fascist flavor
Trump, Trump, Trump
Nazi, your new neighbor

Never ever doubt it
Trump, Trump, Trump
Everything is Trump

Ministry - Thanx but No Thanx

Wonkette was kind enough to post the William S. Burroughs poem, for Thanksgiving.

(The Beat poets did not emerge from thin air.)

“To John Dillinger and hope he is still alive.
Thanksgiving Day November 28 1986”

Thanks for the wild turkey and
the passenger pigeons, destined
to be shat out through wholesome
American guts.

Thanks for a continent to despoil
and poison.

Thanks for Indians to provide a
modicum of challenge and
danger.

Thanks for vast herds of bison to
kill and skin leaving the
carcasses to rot.

Thanks for bounties on wolves
and coyotes.

Thanks for the American dream,
To vulgarize and falsify until
the bare lies shine through.

Thanks for the KKK.

For nigger-killin’ lawmen,
feelin’ their notches.

For decent church-goin’ women,
with their mean, pinched, bitter,
evil faces.

Thanks for
“Kill a Queer for Christ”
stickers.

Thanks for laboratory AIDS.

Thanks for Prohibition and the
war against drugs.

Thanks for a country where
nobody’s allowed to mind his
own business.

Thanks for a nation of finks.

Yes, thanks for all the memories
— all right let’s see your arms!

You always were a headache and
you always were a bore.

Thanks for the last and greatest betrayal
of the last and greatest
of human dreams.

Everything is shit, shit, shit
He's brought it to the house
Who thought he'd sink so low ?
He was always was a louse

It is shit
Everything is shit

Everything is shit, shit, shit
He's got shit for brains
Pretends to comprehend
Why bother to take pains?
Predictable, which way he'll bend
Shit!(cursing) Shit! Shit!

It is shit
Everything is shit

Everything is in the shithole, now
Everything, but the Bear and Pope
Is the White House
the Shit House, now ?
He's a manipulated dope
grinches wrecked the latest hope

It is shit, shit, shit
Fills what is between his ears
shit, shit, shit,
Smells so bad, it produces tears

Everything is obsenity
Everything is disgrace
Everything is corrupt

and
Nothing but justices
Will clear this mess
Then the country
Will start looking up

It's shit, shit, shit
Make no mistake about it
shit, shit, shit

Never ever doubt it
shit, shit, shit
It's turned to shit

Look outside the window, there's a woman being grabbed
They've dragged her to the bushes and now she's being stabbed
Maybe we should call the cops and try to stop the pain
But monopoly is so much fun, I'd hate to blow the game

And I'm sure it wouldn't interest anybody
Outside of a small circle of friends.

Riding down the highway, yes, my back is getting stiff
Thirteen cars are piled up, they're hanging on a cliff.
Maybe we should pull them back with our towing chain
But we gotta move and we might get sued and it looks like it's gonna rain

And I'm sure it wouldn't interest anybody
Outside of a small circle of friends.

Sweating in the ghetto with the panthers and the poor
The rats have joined the babies who are sleeping on the floor
Now wouldn't it be a riot if we really blew our tops?
But we've got too much already and besides they've got the cops

And I'm sure it wouldn't interest anybody
Outside of a small circle of friends.

Oh there's a dirty paper using sex to make her sales
The supreme court was so upset, they sent him off to jail.
Maybe we should help the fiend and take away his fine
But we're busy reading playboys and the Sunday new york times

And I'm sure it wouldn't interest anybody
Outside of a small circle of friends

Smoking marijuana is more fun than drinking beer
But a friend of ours got captured and they gave him thirty years
Hey maybe we should raise our voices, ask somebody why
But the protests they're all such a drag, and besides we're all too high
And I'm sure it wouldn't interest anybody

Outside of a small circle of friends

Oh look outside the window, there's a woman being grabbed
They've dragged her to the bushes and now she's being stabbed
Maybe we should call the cops and try to stop the pain
But monopoly is so much fun, I'd hate to blow the game

And I'm sure it wouldn't interest anybody
Outside of a small circle of friends

The Onion reminded me, that young people's spilled blood, their suffering, and their deaths, never bothered elected Republicans.

There is so much money invested in death, spilled blood, and suffering.

Congrats, Onion. You shot the vampires right in their hearts. Sadly, their hearts do not function. Undead, is undead.

*sigh*

Our cries, screams, and deaths, are so boring and tedious to them.

America, the Republican health care plan is this: "Die quickly." That’s right. The Republicans want you to die quickly if you get sick."

-Alan Grayson

The GOP is between a rock and a hard place. They have no alternative to their 40 year old plan. Of course the Party could revert to its former plan, as Alan Grayson aptly described above. Don’t get sick. If you do get sick, die quickly.

Wouldn't Want to Be Like You

The Alan Parsons Project, Alan Parsons

If I had a mind to
I wouldn't wanna think like you
And if I had a time to
I wouldn't wanna talk to you

I don't care
What you do
I wouldn't want to be like you

If I was high class
I wouldn't need a buck to pass
And if I was a fall guy
I wouldn't need no alibi

I don't care
What you do
I wouldn't want to be like you

Back on the bottom line
Diggin' for a lousy dime
If I hit a mother lode
I'd cover anything that showed

I don't care
What you do
I wouldn't want to be like you

"Marat / Sade"

4 years after the revolution
And the old kings execution
4 years after, remember how
Those courteurs took their final bow

String up every aristocrat!
Out with the priests and let then live on their fat!

Four years after we started fighting
Marat keeps up with his writing
Four years after the Bastille fell
He still recalls the old battle yell

Down with all of the ruling class!
Throw all the generals out on their ass!

Why do they have the gold?
Why do they have the power?
Why why why why why
Do they have the friends at the top?
Why do they have the jobs at the top?

We've got nothing, always had nothing
Nothing but holes, and millions of them
Living in holes
Dying in holes
Holes in our bellies and
Holes in our clothes

Marat we're poor
And the poor stay poor
Marat don't make us wait any more
We want our rights and we don't care how
We want our revolution
Now

Four years he fought and he fought unafraid
Sniffing down traitors by traitors betrayed
Marat in the courtroom
Marat underground
Sometimes the otter and sometimes the hound

Fighting all the gentry and fighting every priest
The business man, the bourgeois, the military beast
Marat always ready to stifle every scheme
Of the sons of the ass licking dying regime

We've got new generals, our leaders are new
They sit and they argue, and all that they do
Is sell their own colleagues
And ride upon their backs
Or jail them
Or break them
Or give them all the ax

Screaming in language that no one understands
Of the rights that we grabbed with our own bleeding hands
When we wiped out the bosses and threw the wall
Of the prison you told us would outlast us all

Marat we're poor
And the poor stay poor
Marat don't make us wait any more.
We want our rights and we don't care how
We want our revolution
NOW!

Poor old Marat, they hunt you down
The bloodhounds are sniffing all over the town
Just yesterday your printing press was smashed
Now their asking your home address

Poor old Marat, in you we trust
You work till your eyes turn as red a rust
But while you write, they're on your track
The boots mount the staircase
The door's thrown back

Poor old Marat, in you we trust
You work till your eyes turn as red a rust
Poor old Marat, we trust in you

Marat we're poor
And the poor stay poor
Marat don't make us wait any more
We want our rights and we don't care how
We want our revolution
Now.

@electrolemon
the other day @raesanni tweeted that the trump administration firings list sounded like an animaniacs song and i asked if i could make that song. here is that song

4:25 PM - Mar 27, 2018

Shania Twain, on voting for Trump

“I would have voted for him because, even though he was offensive, he seemed honest. Do you want straight or polite? Not that you shouldn’t be able to have both. If I were voting, I just don’t want bullshit. I would have voted for a feeling that it was transparent. And politics has a reputation of not being that, right?”

gsgs comment-
I would want to ask her, "when was it, that she came to that decision ?"

Why bother to say that, now?

She is attempting a comeback.

Name dropping ?

/end comment

She is a Canadian woman! (I has guessed she was an American.) She could not vote for him, unless she had immigrated.

"Apologizing for having said something "awkward" is a very 2018 way of expressing oneself. But you can hardly blame her for wanting to walk it back. Maybe the better question is to what degree having said it in the first place was a calculation."

-Sean Nelson

Less than 24 hours later, Twain has apologized in a series of tweets

You looked the part of
The poor brave martyr
And guess who broke your heart
Whoever has it

I'm so relentless
And you're defenseless
Until the pencil stops
You'll be the one who's

Sugarcoated
Self-promoted
They would've believed me too
They would've believed me too
Would you believe me too
Would you believe it too

And out of your mouth
Comes a stream of cliches
Now I have given you so much rope
You should have been hanging for days
But you keep spinning it out
Spinning it out
Spinning it out
Spinning it out
Spinning it out
Spinning it out

It wasn't nice though
I came back twice so
Now I'm the antichrist
If I had been as

Sugarcoated
Self-promoted
They would've believed me too
They would've believed me too
Would you believe me too
Would you believe it too

*listening to Bill Medley singing a gospel song, solo*
(One of the Righteous Brothers from the ancient days of the 1960s)

Time for peace
Time for peace
Time for peace
I said peace
I said peace
Time for peace

We gotta get together
Do a little giving
Change our way of thinking
Change our way of living
And Lord, Lord
We've got to stop the hating
And no time left for crying
When the kids are going hungry
And the good men are dying

Got to be now, now
Got to be now, now
We got to go ahead
And climb that mountain
Got to find a way somehow
Got to have peace
We got to have peace, peace
Lord, we got to have peace
Please tell my brother
Somehow, somehow
I got to reach you
All my sisters
All my brothers
Peace, peace, peace

He sang this song, in 1970

Here it is, 2018, and the Republicans are thirsty to see more War Dollars in their bank accounts.

FFS, I did not imagine how greedy they would become.

Not only are they telling students that they do not care if they die in high school,by a one man firing squad. They are telling the students that they will ship them off to die in another country, or come home maimed and disabled, because War Profits.

People were sick of losing family members, and giving money for War Bonds, at the end of World War II. They hid Fair Columbia away, because everyone was exhausted.

Some people were made fat and rich by the war. It was not the people that fought it. Thank the stars, the Republicans were not allowed to fuck that up. People were exhausted by Vietnam. It became so hopeless, sensible Republicans asked their leaders- What the fuck did you do ? Now, we know how truly stupid you are, they said. We are not sending our children to die for this cluster fuck.

The people that were meant to be protected were not warned, were not informed. They suffered terribly. The truth came out. We were there to keep rare earths and metals out of the hands of Communists, and in American control.

National security was part of the plan, but what about the people that had influence about the decisions ? Was it based on who would profit ?

Billions of dollars worth of equipment, vehicles, buildings, weapons, ect left behind in the Middle East. So much excess weapons vehicles built for war, the scheme to sell it off to American police stations began. Someone was paid to build or manufacture all of it. It was sold to keep the money circulating. Government incentive deals to convince towns and cities to buy. Boston has military grade machinery now. High tech torture instruments, heat and sound, para-military gear.

It did not help the dead teenagers in Parkland Florida. It did not help the people that died in Las Vegas.

2018, and Trump boasts that he has given more money to the Pentagon. Trump has his dream war monger, Mike Pompeo.

What effect will Mr. Pompeo have on Trump ?

https://slate.com/news-and-politics...lling-a-couple-hundred-russians-in-syria.html

It's understandable that Pompeo would want to highlight the range of actions the administration has taken against the Russian government, Trump’s own comments notwithstanding. But given that the risk of the U.S. striking Russian personnel and further escalation of conflict between the United States and Russia is a major concerns as the U.S. contemplates new airstrikes against the Assad regime, this was an odd moment to bring up an incident that both governments seem anxious to sweep under the rug.

After Pompeo has his way with Trump, what will Trump do with his fan club ?

PURPLE TOUPEE
by They Might Be Giants

I remember the year I went to camp
I heard about some lady named Selma and some blacks
Somebody put their fingers in the President's ears
It wasn't too much later they came out with Johnson's wax
I remember the book depository where they crowned the king of Cuba
Now that's all I can think of, but I'm sure there's something else
Way down inside me I can feel it coming back
Purple toupee will show the way when summer brings you down
(Purple toupee when summer brings you down)
Purple toupee and gold lame will turn your brain around
(Purple toupee and gold lame)
Chinese people were fighting in the park
We tried to help them fight, no one appreciated that
Martin X was mad when they outlawed bell bottoms
Ten years later they were sharing the same cell
I shouted out, "Free the Expo '67"
Till they stepped on my hair, and they told me I was fat
Now I'm very big, I'm a big important man
And the only thing that's different is underneath my hat
Purple toupee will show the way when summer brings you down
(Purple toupee when summer brings you down)
Purple toupee and gold lame will turn your brain around
(Purple toupee and gold lame)
Purple toupee is here to stay after the hair has gone away
The purple brigade is marching from the grave
We're on some kind of mission
We have an obligation
We have to wear toupees

We Didn't Know
Words and Music by Tom Paxton

We didn't know said the Burgomeister,
About the camps on the edge of town.
It was Hitler and his crew,
That tore the German nation down.
We saw the cattle cars it's true,
And maybe they carried a Jew or two.
They woke us up as they rattled through,
But what did you expect me to do?

[Cho:]
We didn't know at all,
We didn't see a thing.
You can't hold us to blame,
What could we do?
It was a terrible shame,
But we can't bear the blame.
Oh no, not us, we didn't know.

We didn't know said the congregation,
Singing a hymn in a church of white.
The Press was full lf lies about us,
Preacher told us we were right.
The outside agitators came.
They burned some churches and put the blame,
On decent southern people's names,
To set our colored people aflame.
And maybe some of our boys got hot,
And a couple of niggers and reds got shot,
They should have stayed where they belong,
And preacher would've told us if we'd done wrong.

[Cho:]

We didn't know said the puzzled voter,
Watching the President on TV.
I guess we've got to drop those bombs,
If we're gonna keep South Asia free.
The President's such a peaceful man,
I guess he's got some kind of plan.
They say we're torturing prisoners of war,
But I don't believe that stuff no more.
Torturing prisoners is a communist game,
And You can bet they're doing the same.
I wish this war was over and through,
But what do you expect me to do?

[Cho:]

"The Fletcher Memorial Home," by Pink Floyd

Take all your overgrown infants away somewhere
And build them a home, a little place of their own.
The Fletcher Memorial
Home for Incurable Tyrants and Kings.
And they can appear to themselves every day
On closed circuit T.V.
To make sure they're still real.
It's the only connection they feel.

The Band Jesus Jones, gave us this song-

A woman on the radio talks about revolution
When it's already passed her by

(which revolution was that ?)

(What happened to the Wall in East Germany ? The Russians dominated and crushed the people for years...)

Bob Dylan didn't have this song
(which song was that ?)
to sing about...
you

You know it feels good to be alive

I was alive and i waited, waited
I was alive and i waited for this

Right here, right now
There is no other place i want to be
Right here, right now
Watching the world wake up from history

I saw the decade end, when it seemed
The world could change at the blink of an eye
And if anything
Then there's your sign, of the times
(The fall of the Wall, was the sign ?)

I was alive and i waited, waited
I was alive and i waited for this
Right here, right now

Germany was having trouble
What a sad, sad story
Needed a new leader
To restore its former glory
Where, oh where was he?
Where could that man be?
We looked around
And then we found
The man for you and me
And now it's

Springtime for hitler and germany
Deutschland is happy and gay
We're marching to a faster pace
Look out
Here comes the master race

Springtime for hitler and germany
Winter for poland and france
Springtime for hitler and germany
Come on, germans
Go into your dance

I was born in dusseldorf
And that is why they call me rolf
Don't be stupid, be a smarty
Come and join the nazi party

Springtime for hitler and germany
Goosestep's the new step today
Bombs falling from the skies again
Deutschland is on the rise again

Springtime for hitler and germany
Uboats are sailing once more

Springtime for hitler and germany
Means that soon we'll be going
We've got to be going
You know we'll be going to war

The Mob Song

Beauty and the Beast: The Broadway Musical (1994)

So it's time to take some action, boys
It's time to follow me

Through the mist
Through the woods
Through the darkness and the shadows

It's a nightmare but it's one exciting ride

Say a prayer
Then we're there
At the drawbridge of a castle
And there's something truly terrible inside
It's a beast
He's got fangs
Razor sharp ones
Massive paws
Killer claws for the feast
Hear him roar
See him foam
But we're not coming home
Till he's dead
Good and dead!
Kill the Beast!

Baby picks off your plate-yours looks better
And she throws hers on the floor
Here, in the home of the brave
And the land of the free
The first word that baby learns is "more"

So you're out there floating like a big, puffy cloud
With the pool and the charcoal
and the kids and the wife
'Til the reruns of your dreams are interrupted
And you step out into life

And it's still gimme, gimme what you got
Gimme, gimme what you got
(I want it, I want it)
Gimme, gimme what you got
I said gimme, gimme what you got
(I want it, I want it)
Gimme, gimme what you got

Now it's take and take and takeover, takeover
It's all take and never give
All these trumped up towers
They're just golden showers
Where are people supposed to live?

You can arm yourself, alarm yourself
But there's nowhere you can run
'Cause a man with a briefcase
can steal more money
Than any man with a gun

I said gimme, gimme what you got
Said gimme, gimme what you got
Gimme, gimme what you got
Gimme, gimme what you got

You got the price of admission-
You don't have to ask permission
To take somethin' from another man
You cross a lawyer with the godfather, baby
Make you an offer that you can't understand

From Main Street to Wall Street to Washington
From men to women to men
It's a nation of noses pressed up against the glass
They've seen it on the TV
And they want it pretty fast

You spend your whole life
Just pilin' it up there
You got stack and stacks and stacks
Then, Gabriel comes and taps you on the shoulder
But you don't see no hearses with luggage racks

Gimme, gimme what you got
I said gimme, gimme what you got
I said gimme, gimme what you got
(I want it, I want it)
Gimme, gimme what you got

Don Henley

This room cost 2, 000 dollars a month
you can believe it man it's true
somewhere a landlord's laughing till he wets his pants
No one here dreams of being a doctor or a lawyer or anything

they dream of dealing on the dirty boulevard

Give me your hungry, your tired your poor I'll piss on 'em
that's what the Statue of Bigotry says
Your poor huddled masses, let's club 'em to death
and get it over with and just dump 'em on the boulevard

Get to end up, on the dirty boulevard
going out, to the dirty boulevard
He's going down, on the dirty boulevard
going out

Outside it's a bright night
there's an opera at Lincoln Center
movie stars arrive by limousine
The klieg lights shoot up over the skyline of Manhattan
but the lights are out on the Mean Streets

1989 Lou Reed

"He remained fond of the doo-wop of his youth: Dion DiMucci, frontman of Dion and the Belmonts guested on his album New York, released in 1989. This was one of Reed's most powerful collection of songs and included the paean to Aids victims “Halloween Parade” and the swaggering “Dirty Blvd”. “This is what eight years of Reagan does to you,” he said then. “I knew I wasn't the only one feeling these things. Especially in New York. It's the strongest thing I've ever done.”

The Man Who Sold the World
David Bowie

We passed upon the stair, we spoke of was and when
Although I wasn't there, he said I was his friend
Which came as some surprise I spoke into his eyes
I thought you died alone, a long, long time ago

Oh no, not me
I never lost control
You're face to face
With the man who sold the world

I laughed and shook his hand, and made my way back home
I searched for form and land, for years & years, I roamed
I gazed a gazely stare at all the millions here
We must have died alone, a long, long time ago

Who knows? Not me
We never lost control
You're face to face
With the man who sold the world

Oh no, not me
I never lost control
You're face to face
With the man who sold the world

gsgs comment-

Due to Literotica Rules, I will Quote the Men's side of the argument, and leave out the women's side.

Which is terrible, because the whole point of the song is that women have always had to pay the price of men's sexual freedom to molest, assault, and rape.

/end gsgs comment

It is sure is a scary time for boys
Yeah gentlemen!
Band together, make some noise!
It's really tough when your reputation’s on the line
And any woman you’ve assaulted could turn up anytime

It sure is a scary time for guys
Can’t speak to any women or look them in the eyes
It's so confusing, is it rape or is it just being nice?
So inconvenient that you even have to think twice

It is sure is a scary time for men
Girls like to act like you’re to blame and they’re the victims
Her dress was short and she was drunk, she’s not so innocent
Thank god your dad’s the judge and you won’t be convicted

What is the original message ?
Go out and vote, if men allow you to vote...

Too bad, so many people identified as members of the minority community, Native American tribal members, LGBT, and Democrats have been erased from the voting rolls...

You said to come and sort your mind
(But did you mean it? Ooh, but did you mean it?)
Then warmed the bread and poured the wine
I thought I'd seen it all, until you broke that seventh wall

I said I'd hang on for the ride
Now I'm hanging on for dear life
Is that a real knife?

Get me out of this creep city
I'm flat broke and I don't need pity right now
Just get me out, out, out, out

All the dogs in the back have been smothered
And these cats don't make good lovers
This town's on cursed ground, ground, ground, ground
Was the judge not clear?
Just have a look at them ears

Full of ice cream sundaes
(Funny no one wondered whose thumb I was under)
Never gave a goddamn, I gave you twenty-one grand
'Cause baby I love you more than the trash can

I said I'd give you one more try
Now I'm giving up the good life
I'd make a bad wife

Get me out of this creep city
I'm flat broke and I don't look pretty right now
Just get me out, out, out, out

All the dogs in the back been smothered
And these cats don't make good lovers
This town's on cursed ground, ground, ground, ground

And if there's a sign to show me from this world back to mine
Or tell me you'll try, or at least please reply
Sincerely I'll be waiting, 'til I die
No, I’m never gonna say goodbye to this
(Sin city)
