I was driving to work in Hurricane Sandy today and I heard a commercial on the radio about reporting power outages. The power company in my area is Dominion Va Power.

The phone number made me laugh. I kept chuckling about it to myself throughout the night. I knew you guys would appreciate it.

So if your power goes out in the storm, call (800) DOM HELP.

Oh, how I use some Dom help sometimes. :)

I saw a number of tweets last night with #DOMVA hashtag and at seeing the first one my reaction was, "I wonder who Dom Va is? Don't think I've seen that name at Lit or FetLife."

That is funny ... wonder if the people who set up their phone number have a clue that some of us read it differently.

Ha! I live in the Dominion Power service area too, but never noticed the phone number. I bet some of their workers had to of noticed the correlation by now.

You're welcome. :) Happy to share a laugh with fellow kinksters. There was no one around I could share that with at work, so thank you all for appreciating it.

... chuckle... DomVa. Ah, it's the little things.

Anybody else remember the battery company Powergen Italia, who registered powergenitalia.com?

AFAIK they used to be a legit company, although the site seems to have been turned into a linkfarm with a mix of porn and windmills.

That's what happens when the domain name registration expires (is not renewed).

The registration/hosting company puts up a page with money making links, hoping people who (still) go there will click through to (generating a payment from) some other site.

I take it you're from Michigan and live in Virginia?
