I would like to thank a friend of mine for giving me the inspiration for this thread. He knows who he is.
When you are writing your stories, is there a certain word(s) you like to use in your stories?
I like using words like: ascertain, inundate, exponential, facetious, congregate, etc. (just a few examples)
Words have different degrees of meaning. Sometimes I tend to use weaker words to covey what I'm trying to say, not based on my limited vocabulary, but to maintain some simplicity with a reader. It doesn't always work out that way, though.
I think the old saying is, "Never use a five dollar word to put your two cents in on something."
