I need a GIMP expert

This damn program is giving me fits. Need someone to talk me through this problem

I've got quite a bit of experience with photo editing and image creation/manipulation using GIMP. It isn't photoshop, but for 'free' it is pretty damn good at what it is supposed to do. What is it you are trying to do? How can I help?
