If you haven't entered a themed contest before, why not try this one? You might appreciate the increased attention your entry gets. You might not if anonymous strikes again. It can be a wild ride when your score fluctuates as the sweeps happen. Just enjoy yourselves!

I've got a couple under construction. The only thing is having the time to do them right.

Busy, busy, busy. I had the silly idea that retirement would be relaxing and boring. :rolleyes:

Darn, I forgot about this one. I wonder if there's time for me to do something on this. I've never felt confident about writing in this genre. Having said that I did one last year, had a blast doing at the last minute, and it actually did well, for me.

Maybe I'll try starting one from scratch a week before it starts.
 
I've got a few.

Nude Day is always my favorite because I love the exhib/voyuer theme.
 
I have a couple of drafts but I'm not convinced that either are potential entries - yet.
 
Lucky me. I totally forgot about this contest, but the story I'm working on will fit it nicely.
 
Same as April Fools, I'm concentrating on trying to close something else out.

If an idea presents itself -- fine. I'm not putting any special effort into pondering one, though.
 
I have an idea and a few pages. I haven't been in much of a writing mood lately due to some real-life circumstances that haven't been treating me very well, but with any luck I'll have something ready...
 
I think at this point I've entered seven or eight in a row and I think this might be the one I skip.

I do have something that I've been working on that could fit the theme, but in a different interpretation.

Its non erotic and depressing, its one of those things I'm writing and debating posting it or maybe just printing it and burning it. One of those 'putting something to rest' gestures.

Either way, Nude Day for me has always been number two in lame as far as contests go. Using someone naked in a erotic story, that's a challenge.
 
Laurel's posted the rules, but it looks like the text is a bit left over from April Fool's. I've emailed her so hopefully it'll be cleared up soon.

Good luck everybody. I'd love to get in on this but as some of have said, this seems the hardest to come up with ideas for, and I'm so behind on writing in general I'm not sure this will provide the incentive.
 
I may enter this one with the story I hoped would go to April Fools. It's a First time story about nice Christian girl who thinks Jesus has called all the faithful to heaven and left her behind. At the end, I went for a sweet surprise this time. She discovers that Jesus still loves her. :)
 
In other news, I want to write an incest story about an uncle and an innocent young niece, but I don't know much about this type story. I want the uncle to be a nice guy who sweeps into his nieces life with a point of view that's vastly different from her family's point of view, but I'm not quite sure how to pull it off. Can anyone point me to a popular example (or maybe one of your own personal favorites) of something along these lines? Whenever I try to do anything with incest, it always turns dark. I am not sure why. I guess that's just how I roll, but for this one I want it to be all happy happy joy joy.

make it about 'love'.

and one critic told me incest was about conflict and remorse, but they can't stop fucking - but that didn't work out too well.

love is the magic ingredient. ;)

Probably because incest is dark. The typical approach to making it "happy" appears to be to write it as romantic porn with the family relationship thrown in for spice.
 
Not always true. In mine, for instance, the "family relationship" is not just spice, it's the whole meal.

Or write it as being so stroky that it can't be taken seriously.

I think the underage rule keeps the stories here from resembling real life incest whic is often time abuse and molestation. I think that is also why non consent in incest will get flamed because its a reminder that the real thing many times is rape and it ruins the happy fantasy the readers want

I started with a dark one then did fun ones for awhile the difference in readership is dramatic.
 
The AH needs to have a serious sit down some day about Incest fantasy. Bottom line to me: if you don't get it, don't write it

Thing with incest is its like Non consent in the sense that its kind of love it or leave it readership wise.

But as for authors I have noticed many authors who really don't care much for the genre try to write it anyway because of the attention it gets, they are lured by the votes and views and the favs and comments. So they give it a try.

But like any other kink you can tell when an author is just doing a go through the motions "yeah they usually like this" type of piece and an author that has an actual affinity for it.

But the "posers" don't bother me what always makes me scratch my head (and these people exist in other categories as well) is the people who comment how sick it all is, but yet they come to the category and click on the stories.
 
I did an incset story once about a father who likes porn who inadvertently got his daughter started in a career in porn. I don't really see it so much as "dark" as just kind of "out there." I mean, I tried to make it light. It ended with a wedding (in Vegas) and there were even pics of the (now) porn star daughter blowing an Elvis impersonator who officiated the wedding ceremony. But the comments were all, either: "This is soo dark!" or "This isn't incest!"

I haven't gone back to incest category since. While it's true that Dad didn't have sex with his child, it seemed like a pretty fine line to draw considering the places the story went.

That's why it was not very well received she was fucking everyone but dad.

Incest has several factions and one likes the family sex to stay in the family and for there not to be others.

Its like any other category a story will always please some, but not please others.
