You're right. A straight resistance lamp dimmer is bad for motors.

Look for a router speed control/anti kick-back at the hardware store. You can safely give your MW a variable speed. I got one for well under $20 at Harbor Freight. They have an online site if your town doesn't have one.

Sears has them too; Lowes/Home Depot/Menards don't show any.

You can also use a ceiling fan speed controller, but you'll have to rig it up. Any size will do as the MW doesn't take much power. Put it in a plastic box and add cable clamps. Cut an three-wire extension cord for to get a plug for the input side and an outlet for the fan side.

Next time, pee before you get started (and obviously if you need to during a longer session) so there won't be any doubt. Put some towels and/or a waterproof mat under you (for disposable, there are pads with a waterproof backing used for medical purposes and puppy potty training, but a better option is to purchase a multi-pack of the fleecy waterproof pads/small sheets that are marketed for use with babies because they're washable, cheaper and better for the environment).

Then just relax and go to town with your toy! Note that there are crappy fakes for about 50% the cost of the real thing.

The real one will not cost less than $55 due to restrictions by the importer. There are two models which are functionally identical and just barely different visually (the switch has different marks) - something like the HV250R and the HV-260. I've not found this item available in the UK, but I have discovered some other options (see results of a Google search on "magic wand seat").

My wife finds that her hands get tired from holding her Magic Wand while she's lying down. I'm wondering whether she could make good use of a seat to hold the wand in place underneath her. I'm concerned, though, that it might be uncomfortable for my wife to straddle this type of mount for extended periods. For example, if the head sits up too high, then she might need to keep her thigh muscles engaged in order to stay in contact with it. That might be a good toning exercise, but it's probably not conducive to great orgasms! :D

Ah... sorry! I was referring to the Liberator Axis cushion/mount as per the post that I quoted (not the wand itself which is used with the mount). I've subsequently found the UK site by substituting ".co.uk" for ".com" in the original link. *rolls eyes at himself for not thinking of that earlier*

I've seen pictures somewhere of a rather large box shaped foam cushion. it was wrapped in a towel (no wonder why), the wand was laid on top of it, and held in place with a belt going around the cushion.
It must have been some rather high density foam, cause it didn't look like it was changing shape very much from neither strapping nor sitting on it.

Should I do it, I would stitch a narrow open bottomed "pocket" to the towel to stick the wand into (lead coming out the bottom, head sticking out the top), maybe supplemented with some laces or velcro to secure it further.

Thanks! I've seen those as well, but I'm sceptical about their effectiveness. My wife is quite petite but, even so, I'm worried that she would feel unsteady sitting on a foam cushion (even a high-density one). I'm also concerned that the angle and position of the Magic Wand head might be wrong for her (and unadjustable), and that the ventilation slits on the Magic Wand would be blocked when buried inside the cushion.

Instead, I'm considering utilising my DIY skills to construct something more substantial and versatile. My current thoughts are to build a strong wooden frame with foam cushioning outside and a series of anchor points inside to enable the Magic Wand to be firmly mounted in a variety of positions. The head would poke through the top but the body would still be in free space underneath to enable the ventilation slots to breathe and the speed adjustment control to be accessible. Another nice addition might be the option to mount a dildo at the right distance behind the head.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to go about this? To save time, I'm hoping to find a piece of self-assembly furniture that can be readily re-purposed for the job. I'll need to consider carefully the optimum dimensions for the frame to be both comfortable and stable.

Any other suggestions on "features"? ;)
