Click on the name of the poster (upper left corner). A drop down menu will appear. Click on Ignore.

If I do that, all I get is:
  • My Erotic Tale
  • View Public Profile
  • Send a private message to My Erotic Tale
  • Find all posts by My Erotic Tale
  • Add My Erotic Tale to Your Buddy List
These do not seem to be appealing options. The last one is particularly horrifying.

I have found an "ignore" function in the controls. Can I add this name in manually and have it work?
 
Go to your User CP - you'll find the link at the far left hand side of the blue band on the top of the page, In there you'll see listed "update buddy/ignore list.\".

Yes, you can. (I just did.)
 
Never mind. I entered the name manually and, while it doesn't eliminate all reference to the person, it eliminates his text.

You're right. It is much more calming. I liken it to hitting the mute button when an obnoxious commercial comes on the television. I can still see that the commercial is there, but I can't hear it and that helps keep my blood pressure down.

1201 I delete every comment you post because you cannot seem to post a comment with out spilling this same negativity that your spreading here and every post you post toward me. Your in a love to hate me mode there fore I ignore your old cranky ass, what bothers you is that I will not listen to your TEACHINGS that you seem to have this need to try and teach every one else how to write and you have no credentials other than the ego of being able to tell others how to write. Your a disillusioned old man with hatred in his heart so...I take reltines advice and ignore your old cranky butt. simple as that.

You and sack play the name changing game and have this uncontrolable urge to tell people how to rewrite their poetry, go find somebody that will believe your bullshit, I have seen your analizing of poems and your not any help to me. So I leave you be, you just can't seem to take the fact I ignore your advice and take others advice over yours, get over it.

No what bothers me is your corruption of the English language, your false accusations, your attempts at demonization. Listen up dip shit, get this straight. I do not vote without leaving my name.
And you are they asshole always shoting your month off about "teaching" but when an opportunity comes along where you might learn something, no you become the "defender of the unique" don't you realize how absurd THAT is?

So what, you accuse the "rainman" of being me, second person if I remember, why? Because of what a bit of jealousy on your part a good writer gets a bit of attention, I take that as a compliment. Rainman may not like it that's his ax not mine.

You have a bit of a history of not handling criticism well, why is that? You also have a history of distortions, don't you? Evasions, face it. I think you owe a bit of apology to alot more people than I, namely everyone that writes better than you and offered advice/and or criticism.

Thank you Lauren for mentioning my Five Wagons of Hickory Nuts, and for those who read and felt it -- It is an important poem for me. coming a long way and still so far to go. I appreciate your comments and reading.
 
I also want to thank Lauren for her review, and those who commented and e-mailed me about today's poem. It is still evolving, and I've put it up on the "Thin-Skinned" thread, if anyone would care to throw their two cents in. I would appreciate that.

I've been playing for the last couple of months an online game called NationStates, where every day you're asked one or two policy-defining questions and then sit back and see how twisted your little empire turns out.

Tonight's question is one that deserves the attention of all of us, I think: :D

The Issue

The National Poetry Society of Hyndeland is demanding government-funded programs to promote the arts, especially poetry.


The Debate

1. "We need government help to promote culture." says Jack Licorish, chairperson of the National Poetry Society of Hyndeland. "Poetry is the soul of our nation, the very pulse of humanity! We will ultimately be judged according to our contribution to artistic enlightenment. In other words, please provide funding for our humble mission to bring the beauty of poetry to the masses!"

2. "Artists and poets should support themselves, like everyone else," replies Chastity Winters, spokesperson for the Capitalism Now Party. "The suffering taxpayers should be given a break. In fact, we should abolish all government subsidies for special interest groups."

3. "Poets--who needs them?!" scoffs Johann Love, Chairperson Emeritus of the Troglodyte Coalition. "These long-haired troublemakers should all be lined up against the wall and shot! That would be far more entertaining than reading some dumb poems!"​


The Government Position

The government has yet to formalize a position on this issue.​

I think it is persenal and everyone should be allowed to have his or her own opinion and besides I write for myself from my heart and soul.
